Don't believe all the negative reviews! You have to try it to believe it and judge it for yourself! Sometimes change is bad but my first repair at a new place like Wellesley Toyota was quite an experience. It was simple when you understand the reasons behind the repair, and why they had to do what they did to my vehicle. It's really no rocket science your vehicle is broken and they just had to fix it along with other recommendations. Whether or not I choose to accept the repair it would totally be up to me. They explained the situation comprehensively, and all I had to do is be patient while the repair took placed. They offered me transportation so that I didn't have to wait with courtesy shuttle round trip or a courtesy rental. I took the rental. From there on is just a matter of checking in via phonecall. When all said and done it was a smooth operation by the service department. I mean their work is guaranteed so it is a peace of mind for me. I really didn't hit any bumps with them. So I can glady say that the Wellesley Toyota Service department did a fantastic job with a new comer like myself. For those of you who complain about how terrible your experience with this dealership really is wait until you really have problems with the place that you said took care of you better than Wellesley Toyota. I'm no stranger to dealerships that have bad service certainly not Wellesley Toyota. Sure, there are times when things that can go wrong will go wrong, but in the end as long as the situation gets resolve we should all move on and live another day in peace. Nobody wants to break your vehicle when you bring it there to get it fix. They just wants to fix it for you, get paid, and move on to the next customer. People, you, me, and everybody else are just trying to make a living. So, why are you trying to make it so difficult for everybody else. If you have such a bad experience at Wellesley Toyota go some place else. You don't need to share your boring negative situation with those who had good experience here. People like you only write about the bad things versus 100 great things that you could of shared among us. But nooooo....you only write about the one bad part! It's the fact of life. People must understand that machines no matter how much it cost will ware and tare, eventually will need repair or replacement. Ask to talk to the right person and not let the negative activity impact your overall judgement of your daily environment. If you really have such a negative experience then wait until you have at least three of them in a row before you share it. Maybe then it's more believable. read more

After being heard and assured that these tactics we're not a reflection of training but rather some oversight, I've changed my review to reflect my new found opinion. I believe that if you are willing to have an honest conversation, and ensure intentions we're not bad, and that accept perhaps there was a misunderstanding, with a commitment to continue improving, then the forever living/infinity of the internet shouldn't have to be a constant reminder of a mistake you've grown from. I appreciate that I was heard, and I appreciate that there will be a commitment to being better! Will certainly be returning here to shake hands with the owner and hopefully get a straightforward deal on a new car! -------- I really thought a lot about this before I wrote it, because I think that if you don't have anything nice to say, that you shouldn't say it. I also believe you should give people a chance to remedy their mistake before you write them off forever. With that said, I did want to write this because it's sort of clear to me that the people there just haven't heard me. Maybe this really doesn't matter, or maybe this is just the way of the world but I wanted to share my experience so that maybe people could hear it and be more informed when they decide to go in. Basically, this dealership is just having a really bad issue with their leadership training their staff in a way that's not professional, and I know it comes from the top because of the delivery. This dealership just can't seem to help it's self from being overly gimmicky and withholding, and yes-man like. I've fixed cars, I've bought cars, I've sold cars and I've obviously driven cars. I'm not an expert but I'm not an idiot either, but this dealership insists on gimmick checking people. What I mean is, I can go in there, tell them exactly what I need serviced, the exact car I'm looking for and how much I want to pay for it based on extensive research, or even just the part I want, and it's like they can't help themselves from trying to slip in some bait and switch, misleading, "you're not smart, you should listen to me" type of sentiment. It's just weird. I don't think there are bad people who work there, and I don't think it should be avoided, but it's sad that I'm put in a situation where I need to now be condescending, or crass, or terse, because I catch them in an "unwhole" truth (let's call it) and they just power right through it, forcing me to double down like I'm a camp counselor or high school administrator.... Rude, unfriendly, refuses to fix their mistakes unless asked repeatedly They replaced a defective part on my new 2020 car for about $520. A week later there was a clicking noise about as loud as the turn signal coming from the replaced part. (The noise showed up right after the part was replaced.) We were in the middle of a pandemic so I took a video documenting the noise and emailed it to them, stating that it would be a few months before I could come back and submit a warranty claim against it. I know economy cars rattle, but we're talking as loud as a turn signal. Day 1 - dropped off my car after making an appointment. Came back to pick it and they simply said they ran out of time and did nothing. Day 2 (a week later) - dropped of my car. Was called by someone in the service department later that day, and told that the person who had been organizing this had called in sick and they had driven the car and couldn't find the noise (because the noise doesn't show up when it's very hot out, the plastic expands). I asked for them to at least check the part for proper installation. They said no. I asked to speak with someone else and they had the manager, James W, call me. He basically told me over the phone that he hadn't watched the video I took of the part making very loud noises and that he didn't believe me enough unless he hears the noise in person. Day 3 (the next day) - I begged James to at least check the part for proper installation. It wasn't clear what they were going to do but I left it for a 3rd day. I then picked it up, and a few days later it made the exact same noise. The either installed a defective part and/or they improperly installed the part. They basically said they cannot do anything unless the weather gets cold so they can hear it again. We are in the middle of a pandemic and I provided clear video evidence of the defective part. Do you think I would want them to rip apart my brand new car (specially the part they installed) if it wasn't make a very loud noise? They really DON'T go the extra mile when it comes to caring for your vehicle. You should have just said "we're sorry about the issue. Here's what we'll do and then you give us an update within a week and then we'll go from them" Instead I had to fight for them to do anything and leave my car there for 3 days. They pretend they cannot hear the noise so they don't have to pay out of pocket to fix faulty parts / installation. read more

Back in October 2020, after researching a vehicle I wanted, through websites and testing driving the vehicle at several large Boston/Norwood area dealers and speaking with an town neighbor, I decided to look at Wellesley Toyota. I am happy that I did. I searched their website and found a vehicle I was interested. I called and spoke with Marcus DeOliveira. Marcus said the vehicle was available for a test drive. I told him I wanted to test drive it that morning, but I asked him to first review the vehicle for notable blemishes or even slight damage as I did not want to waste my time as I had at other area dealers. I had made appointments at other dealers and they would never even mention if there were blemishes or as in one case, after I drove 45 minutes to the dealership, the vehicle had frontend damage. Marcus reviewed the car, called me back and mentioned a coupled of slight blemishes that I could live with and I arranged to test drive the vehicle. Marcus and the sales managers were very respectful and seemed to just be very honest. When I told them the dollar amount I felt I was willing to pay for the vehicle I drove, they stated they understood, made the best cost adjustment they could and we reached an agreement. There was NOT a lot of back and forth. They did not make me wait more than 5 minutes. They didn't waste my time. The other places always make you wait and wait and wait. They don't respect your time. They followed up on everything they said they would. Their customer service was real, it didn't end, the minute the sales paperwork was completed. Other area dealerships, forget you as soon as the paperwork is completed. You're just a number that they needed to help them meet their sales goals. Over the past 25 years I have bought several new and used vehicles at some of the areas largest, well know, dealerships and I can honestly say, the Wellesley Toyota experience was the best experience I have had. My wife and I are not experienced car buyers. The last new car we purchased was nearly 20 years ago. I lead with this because our experience may not be typical. I have read through a number of the Yelp reviews here for Wellesley Toyota though, and I believe we have something to add. We were in the market for a new car because my old Volkswagen was totalled in an accident on Route 128 one icy morning this winter. I had already been contemplating a replacement before the accident because my car was getting quite old, my commute had just gotten significantly longer, and I wanted something greener. Toyota kept coming up as the best option for us, and we had already decided on a Prius Prime with the Advanced package before going shopping. Consumer Reports was recommending the Premium package as being the most cost effective option, but I wanted the added sensors in the Advanced package. Unfortunately, the range of colors for this model is limited, so we decided we would go with anything except blue. The sky blue color seemed a bit too youthful. Through my insurance company's car purchasing network we were put in touch with a number of area dealerships. It turned out that Wellesley was both convenient and, in the end, the only one with the model and package we wanted in stock. Of course it was blue. We revised our requirements and went ahead with the purchase. What I want to say about Wellesley Toyota is that throughout this process, even though we were already as sure a thing as a car buyer might be, they treated us as valued customers. Our salesperson, Mark Welcome, yes, that really is his name, was straightforward, knowledgable, and did all he could to educate us about the choice we were making. I was impressed with his understanding of the many many features of this model and how they interact with the overall function of the car. I recently purchased a used 2013 corolla LE from Mike Garron at Wellesley Toyota. I had been to many dealerships and had to put up with a lot of high pressure nonsense and treated like i was an idiot which only served to make me head to the door. I was not expecting to get a car for free I know the dealer and salesman need to make a living. i was looking for a 2013 LE corolla with certain options like sunroof, alloy wheels, split back seat with very low miles for a fair price and without getting a headache in the process. I had a hard time finding exactly what i wanted. I went to Wellesley because i had been there years before looking for a corolla for my mother and it was a relaxed environment , they did not have what she was looking for and they did not try to push something else on us. After seeing a model on line at Wellesley that fit my needs and had a good price I went down and met with Mike Garron . He was an easy guy to deal with and there wasn't any pushing and nonsense involved. He was not trying to push things on me that i was not interested in and was very knowledgable and honest about the pros and cons of corollas. mike is an older guy and a car guy and so am i so i found him great to talk to and deal with. I liked the car i went to see but decided to leave and go for a coffee and think about it to be sure before making a final decision. mike was fine with that, no pressure to stay and he gave me his number and said if you decide on it call me. I decided on it went back to see mike, got some more money off the price which was a very good price for that model with the low miles and options. I picked up the car a couple days later it had a full tank of gas and was spotless inside and out. mike stuck around late to be there when i got there to go over everything with me. I had the BEST car buying experience of my life when I purchased my 2016 Toyota Corolla S Plus from Brandon & Chris at Wellesley Toyota. My previous car which I had for 9 years was totaled and I was in complete panic as I needed a car for my job. I went in just to see what I was able to get in my price range, and Brandon made the process for effortless and eased my mind in not only getting a car for me by the next week, but a brand NEW 2016 in within my budget. When it was time to pick up my car, the Sales Manager Chris sat down with us to go over everything, and offered me a fabulous deal on a 7 year bumper to bumper warranty. I could not be more pleased with the level of knowledge and customer service that was provided to me. My husband and I had a truly pleasant experience at Wellesley Toyota. After a long day of visiting other dealerships and having some extremely negative interactions and situations we were about to call it a day and go home frustrated and upset. We had never been to Wellesley Toyota but I figured it was not too far away and we could stop in on our way home and try our luck one last time before heading home. I am thrilled that we found them !!! Thiago Barcellos was excellent and made us feel right at home and comfortable. He was down to earth, honest, respectful and pleasant. I felt like I was talking to a friend as opposed to an overly pushy salesperson in a suit just looking for a sale. We ended up purchasing a new 2019 Toyota Highlander right then and there. Thiago's customer service has been exceptional. He went above and beyond helping my husband and I get everything finalized with the dealership, registry and insurance company. He has followed up with emails and phone calls to ensure we are happy with our purchase and made himself available for any questions we may have about the operation of the vehicle or anything else for that matter. We also sat down and spoke with the manager, Brad Trefrey, and finance staff and also had professional and friendly interactions. Minutes after we showed interest in a Toyota online, Andrew called us and answered all our questions in the spot, following up with an email containing his research results for the different options we discussed. When I came into the dealership the next day, there was no pressure, no imposing "I'm doing this for 40 years ... I know what's good for you ..." as in other car dealerships - instead, Mohammed gave me all the time I needed to feel comfortable about my decision, explained everything I was asking about without overwhelming, showed me all the models / trims / colors I was interested in ... in total, we sat there for over 4h, at which point Mohammed started offering me tangerines and other snacks he brought for himself ... Apparently, Toyota Wellesley breaks with the unpleasant tradition of giving you a higher price first, expecting you to negotiate back and forth. Their initial price was already lower than the quotes I got from other dealerships for the same model / trim and when I tried to initiate negotiations, the salesperson very politely explained to me, why they don't do such things in general. while unusual to me, it's actually much less stressful this way. After all, my wife and I are now enjoying our 2019 RAV4 Limited from every angle and on every trip, without any nagging thoughts that we were talked into something we didn't want or need. read more

George is a crook and a liar! I went there and put a deposit on a vehicle and applied for financing. I went to take delivery and the vehicle wasn't ready. George stated that he would deliver the vehicle. It took three weeks before the vehicle was delivered and it had an additional 600 miles on the odometer; it also had a hole/dent in the side of the rear door. The vehicle was also advertised to have a lifetime power train warranty, which was not in the vehicle when it was delivered. He stated over and over again that he would send it; he never did. When I complained to the BBB, he responded that because he discounted the price of the vehicle, there was no warranty. He claimed that its posted on the website; good luck finding that anywhere on the website or in any of the paperwork. The check engine light came on indicating that there is a power train problem and the car is in limp home mode. In addition, he had the air bag suspension turned off in the computer tso the faulty compressor couldn't be heard; when the shocks collapsed and I turned it on, it made a god awful noise and failed to inflate the shocks (a $500 repair) It's the worst car buying experience I have ever had; Stay away from this guy, read more

When the time came to finalize things, Shaun Fisher picked up where Alens left off, and the dream team experience continued. My experience with Wellesley Toyota was extremely disappointing. A small issue with the rear tailgate of my 2024 Toyota Sienna turned into more than two months of delay and about $11,000 in repairs. The vehicle sat at the dealership for over 36 days with no work performed, while they blamed holidays and other excuses. I repeatedly explained that my child has a serious medical condition and our family urgently needs this van for hospital visits because it accommodates a wheelchair and walker. Unfortunately, there was no urgency or compassion. Even worse, the dealership vehicle that was transporting me was involved in a crash, and this was essentially ignored. Most concerning, I was charged for work that was not properly registered in the vehicle system, which raises serious transparency concerns. This experience made it feel like customers are viewed primarily as a source of revenue. I am a mechanical engineer, so I can recognize many of these issues. But the real question is: how are ordinary customers supposed to recognize or protect themselves from this? If this is the level of service behind the brand, why should anyone trust buying the vehicle in the first place? read more

It's a shame I can't do less than a 1 star review...My recent experience at this Toyota dealership's service center is a stark reminder of why consumers often distrust dealership repairs. I will not be returning. I brought my Highlander in because the temperature sensor was erroneously indicating an overheated engine immediately upon starting. The dealership diagnosed the issue as rodent damage to exhaust heat management wires, claiming a complex repair due to their supposed location deep under the engine, and charged me $570. Astonishingly, less than a week later, the exact same problem recurred. This time, I sought a second opinion from a local garage. They quickly identified that the wires in question are actually located externally, under the driver's seat - not within the engine compartment. Furthermore, they showed me the original, broken (not chewed) wires. The local garage efficiently replaced the wires, applied rodent-resistant tape, and charged a mere $83. This glaring discrepancy in both diagnosis and cost is unacceptable. From now on, my business will exclusively go to local, trustworthy mechanics. I have been fortunate to have found a car dealer that is Exceptional. I went to Wellesley Toyota in 2011 for the first time and purchased a 2011 Prius from Chris Davies. Since then I have purchased 3 more cars from him. The experience of buying a car at Wellesley Toyota was smooth and non-stressful. From entering the dealership and being greeted by Michael Kistoglou, to being helped by Chris Davies (Sales Manager (New Sales)) and Dima Saade (sales manager), to finalizing the sale with Brad Trefery (general sales manager). After the car was prepared and the Sale was completed, Andrew Lee (Red team test Drive) went into an in-depth review of the 2018 Camry Hybrid features. He was outstanding, through and patient. I am thrilled with my purchase and the care shown to me. I will be buying my next car from Wellesley Toyota. A shout out to Matt Corey Service Manager. He helped me through many trying times when I had a leak in my prior car. I had leased a car from here a few years ago, so when my girlfriend's lease from a different dealer was almost up, I decided we should come here because I had a good experience last time. The first question I asked Victor, our sales person, was if we leased here, would Wellesley Toyota cover the final two payments of our current lease. He said he thought so, and then went to talk to his manager for about 5-10 minutes. When he came back, he said that that was something they can do. After we had the car, my girlfriend called to make sure this could be done, and the people she spoke with told her they had no record of that promise being made to us, and it was not in our lease contract. They acted like they had no idea what she was talking about. It's very frustrating to feel as if this dealer told us whatever we wanted to hear in the moment so we would lease, but then not hold up their end of the bargain and basically steal $350 from us, as we had to cover the last two payments when we were told Wellesley would cover them. Will not be coming back and telling people I know to stay away. read more
