Sweet Bear is a family favorite and definitely worth a visit if you haven't tried them yet! Their…read morebear-shaped waffles are perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. My personal favorite is the custard filling, while my kids are obsessed with the Nutella. If you've had Somi Somi's fish-shaped taiyaki, these are similar but in my opinion, even better! Ordering is super easy using the self-service kiosk or by scanning the QR code, which takes you directly to the menu. This cute placed is owned by an incredibly sweet and young Korean couple. Every order is made fresh and when they present you your order, you can just tell that their bears are made with such love. They are so kind and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. We'll definitely be back. Highly recommend checking them out!

The restaurant is cute with wooden tables and benches. Each table has a cup of conversation starter slips; a nice touch for keeping the convos going with friends. I ordered my go to drink--a Thai Iced Tea. I loved the option to control the sweetness and the amount of ice. I went with 50% sweet. The rich flavor of the Thai tea came through beautifully. I am determined to come back and try their Sweet Bear pastries. I love that they have a savory filling option among other sweet choices. They advertise that they are served warm and fresh, taking around 10-15 minutes to prepare, so order ahead if time is an issue. They have a kiosk order system but only one kiosk. I waited a bit because I missed the ordering QR codes posted literally everywhere to save the wait in line. Oops! My tea was out super fast. No complaints. The owners were super nice. I was greeted instantly and offered samples. I love that they have personalized the place with elements of their story. As others said, there isn't an obvious bathroom, so don't count on Sweet Bear for a post-dentist rescue. Otherwise, a wonderful experience!

Inside has lots of sitting areas, but it does get filled fast with people who want to relax and study or read a quiet book to themselves. There's seasonal drinks are delicious, but I stick to my tried and true- Beez Kneez I had a little modification of a little extra honey, and a few splashes of heavy cream. If you ever tried and loved the Bell milk from La La Land, you'll know why I quickly became addicted to adding heavy cream too all my coffees lol Everyone there is always so friendly and quick to recommend things if you're deciding between two different drinks. Love love love it here!!

Located among the shops and bars of historic downtown sits 1418 Coffee, a cute and genuinely great little shop that fits the area perfectly. Inside, the shop is fairly narrow but offers a good amount of both indoor and outdoor seating. I arrived with a friend a little before 11 am on a Sunday, and it was absolutely packed. A biking group was posted up outside, students were inside working on homework, even though most colleges have not started yet, and plenty of other patrons were taking their Sunday mornings easy. Despite having at least 10 to 15 people in front of us, the line moved pretty quickly. My friend who was more of a regular at the shop knew a lot of the staff and had convos with them. It feels like a little community! I ordered the Maple Sausage Croissant sourced from Sugar Loaf Bakery along with a hot Purple Haze latte made with lavender and vanilla syrup. My drink came out fairly quickly, and I thought it was great. It was well balanced and not overly sweet. As for the Maple Sausage Croissant, it was exactly what it sounded like, a maple sausage tucked into a croissant. I initially expected the croissant itself to be maple flavored, similar to a McGriddle, but it was still fresh and enjoyable. They had been keeping them warm in a heater throughout the morning, which definitely helped. I have stopped by 1418 Coffee a few times when visiting Dallas, and I plan to keep returning. They consistently do a great job and fit right into the charm of downtown Plano. RIYL: A warm haven in a beautiful downtown.
