Run! I was a walk in and made the mistake of not checking Yelp rating before I went in. I initially just wanted an acrylic soak off so I didn't think it would matter where I got it done. The tech asked me if I wanted to get a fill instead, so I reluctantly agreed. She started chopping off my nails without checking in with me about the length I wanted. The were cut extremely short to the point they were the same length of my natural nail underneath. I was watching and hoping they would look longer when the acrylic was added. They didn't. My middle finger looked like a nub and the shaping and filing was so off and uneven, which I noticed more after they were painted of course. I complained on my way out and was given an unsatisfactory response by the manager. She told me there was nothing they could do to even out the nails and my tech was busy now. So they offered me to come back the next day to have her fix it. Needless to say, I demanded they attempt to fix/ reshape the nails at that time. She reluctantly came over and attempted to file my nails at the front counter until I asked to sit down. They were done sloppy and rushed. Not sure why it's so hard to shape a nail correctly! I came in with long coffin nails and left with nubs! I was offered $5 off for my trouble. Hahahaha. Not going back!!.. you shouldn't either until they learn better customer service and how to do nails! They charge way too much for what they're putting out. read more

It was my first time going here.. I got a gel manicure and it looks awful. The polish is not smooth and shows so many bumps, it also does not cover the whole nail. Not really sure how to feel about this place. I usually drive a whole 30 mins to Tempe to get my nails done, but I visited Herbal Nails as they were a lot closer to me and I was hoping to find a nail shop that could do SNS for an affordable price. When I walked into Herbal nails I was pleased with how clean and pretty the place was. The tech that did my nails was speedy and very friendly. They had soooo many colors to choose from which I love. I was initially very happy with my nails and expected to come back - however one of my nails chipped and broke within two days. They do have a 7 day guarantee that you could come in to fix the nail for free, which I did and was happy again after. Then one more week passes and THREE NAILS have now chipped, gel peeled, and are practically breaking off. Typically, every single SNS experience I've had I have been able to keep my set for a whole MONTH. Its been two weeks and I've had a total of 4 nails break off. Honestly for $45 plus tip this is ridiculous. The manager assured me they are the best in Arcadia? Which if that is the case - I'm happy to continue driving to Tempe where I can at least be guaranteed nice nails for a whole month and only at $30. I was willing to give this salon another shot but considering I've never had this experience with legit any other salon and SNS I don't think I will come back. read more

Went to this Grand opening waited in line in the cold while they had fans outside blowing for the customers whom all complained it was too cold for that. Then this lady came out with a tray of food and because I was busy helping my fussy baby she went passed me twice then a lady ran her down and asked if I could have one of their snack foods for my baby. Thank god because that women was rude the whole time she kept passing me and asking me to get out of her way when there's a crowd and I have a baby. New moms never get a minute and for once I was able to go to an event for my self didnt mind taking my kid. Theres no sign that says no babys or strollers so I thought it was ok. The short lady with blue stilettos was ome of the worse people Ive ever met. Rude, inconsiderate, and pushy. Then finally my turn I step up to her in line and she says I have to go to the end because I didnt have a slip when it was in my hands. I handed it to her she rolled her eyes and yelled at me to go in. I parked my stroller out of the way they then made me feel like i was an inconvenience to them. Like I didnt deserve this I havent done shit for myself in two yrs so this was willy wanka gold to me. I go sit and everyones complimenting me and my baby for being so good and calm. They then were asked by multiple people for water or something to drink they yelled at one another trying to figure it out. Then my friend asked for a xmas design on her toes they did it to all three of us and not her. It was so rude. Then they try to push more on to us. Wanna upgrade this or get manicure.. Horrible first time here. Nothing was organized very shitty food cold and dry. Then the staff mostly sucked and were rude. Didnt notice the lady cut my toe nail unevenly since I was busy being a mom. Polish is coming off sooner than normal. Small color collection. Plain colors not too many vinbrants or glitters or cool colors. All I know is, if I treated my cutomers the way they did Id be fired. went here yesterday for a pedicure. i'm actually a nail tech down the road but we've been so busy i didn't have time to get one at work. first off, they use cheese graters to file your foot which are in fact, illegal in the state of arizona. while i getting my toes polished with gel i decided ti read the reviews (idiot mistake) and saw all the bad reviews for infections and cuts. my cuticles were cut during my pedicure so now i'm basically waiting for the infection to set in. also their polish was clumpy and old and the top coat was very flat not shiny at all. i'm at work now and had to put a different top coat on so they looked slightly less dumpster fire-y. go elsewhere. doesn't even have to be my work, just avoid this place. read more

I recently moved to the area and was super excited to find this nail salon. In fact I was in there for services twice within a week. Unfortunately their customer service and products are the worst I have ever experienced! I had my nails done with SNS and the very next day the entire polish literally peeled off 5 of my nails! I never even touched my nails just looked down to see the polish was off! So weird! I have never ever seen such a thing? Maybe the product was old? Anyway - I went back in to get the nails repaired and SHOCKINGLY the said they would have to CHARGE me!!!! Huh!? It was an inconvenience enough to have to take time out of my busy schedule to fix a manicure that was done incorrectly but now they want to charge me!? UNBELIEVABLE!!! I've been a customer of Herbal Nails & Spa Arcadia location for the past 3 years. The owner and staff are absolutely amazing. They always welcome everyone with open arms. From the time of arrival I'm always greeted and offered a beverage of my choice (complimentary) champagne, mimosas, wine, water, tea. The salon is bright, full of natural lighting, comfortable chairs and multiple TV's on the wall for entertainment. All of the nail techs are amazing and actually care about the health of my nails. From gel polish, acrylic nail set, manicures, pedicures and even designs found on Pinterest can be done. I would suggest scheduling an appointment as opposed to just walking in due to the shop having great service and nail techs it can be busy on the weekends and holidays but that's to be expected when they're great at what they do. While the staff is fairly friendly, and they always seem to be available for a walk-in despite a fair amount of customers, their work has always been less than great. I wanted to love this place due to the clean, modern atmosphere and the great location, but to be honest- the work is not worth the crazy high prices. I paid $54 (not inc tax and tip) for a sloppy pedicure once again. The pedicure at took 75 mins to deliver a pedicure that wasn't even evenly cut or shaped. This is the third time I've been so disappointed. If you're more about the experience, and you want a fun place to lounge- definitely give this place a try. They did the get the job done and my nails looked nice. However, the first time I went, the man who did my pedi kept trying to up sell me on a more expensive pedicure. Let me add, I wasnt even getting the cheapest pedicure to begin with. It's even worse because he spoke no English whatsoever. Usually I'm pretty good with accents but his I could not understand at all. I didnt want to be rude so I ended up just saying whatever I'll get the pedicure you recommend. They also did a full set during this visit and the set was beautiful and I loved the shape and color. Second time I went, I was getting a gel manicure on my natural nails. The younger guy who works here did my manicure and he did an okay job. My manicure started to chip within a few days and he almost forgot to put cuticle oil on my nails afterwards. I came for a mani and pedi. They started with the pedi but we had to stop because she cut me two times. After the second time, I no longer wanted a pedi. They were super apologetic and I felt bad for the girl, I think she was learning. If that was the case, I would have liked to be given the option to have a student working on me vs a licensed technician. I would have chosen the licensed technician. If she's licensed already, then that's really sad because you shouldn't cut someone's foot twice in a span of under 5 minutes if you were properly trained. They gave me a different person who did my gel mani and it looked great. This all happened on a Sunday. Unfortunately, they all started lifting by Wednesday. The salons I typically go to (I have two favorite places) do gel manis that don't lift ever. Eventually they chip off a minimum of 2 weeks later. After this mani, however, the gel polish on several of my fingers just started lifting off 3 days later. The atmosphere is very nice and the people are nice but that won't be enough for me to want to go back because I then went and spent another hour and a halft and spent money to redo my mani at my regular salon the following Sunday. First of all the pricing is absolutely ridiculous for the length of my nails. When I first walked in I showed the first picture to the lady at front desk and she gave me a price of $70. I came back at 4:45 and David proceeds to do my nails. Before he cut my nails I told him I wanted them long like in the picture and he proceeded to cut them shorter than desired. After he finishes they are way shorter than I wanted them to be and the color turned out to be red instead of soft pink like it was in the picture. So not only were they really short, but I also was not happy with the color because it's obviously red in the second picture. I ask my nails to be long for a reason. I'm not too happy with the result of my nails because they were red and really short and they just looked weird for my nail beds. Then when I go to pay I ask the lady (I didn't get her name) if there's any possible way they can lower the price since they charge on the length of the nails and she went to go talk to him. She comes back and tells me she can only take a small amount off. She takes off 2 dollars! So my total came out to $67 for nails I really did not like. Overall a bad experience because my graduation is on Friday and I am not happy at all especially because they still charged me basically $70 for nails that looked nothing like the first picture. I would of been fine if they were kind enough to lower the price at least to $60 because I do not think these nails are worth $70 whatsoever. read more

So I just recently got my nails done here. I was not super hyped about my experience. Checking in was fine. The lady had my reservation down for my mom, my sister and I. However, when I made the appointment I let her know it was going to be three manis and three pedis. She never told me I had to specify which kind of manis and pedis I wanted. Cut to getting our nails done... I didn't realize there was a difference in SNS polish versus the regular gel polish. (This was my first time in) I obviously wanted to try the SNS polish because so many people had recommended it to me. Well when I was telling the nail lady that, the front desk lady, that had checked us in, made a huge deal about me switching from gel to SNS. And my mom and sister wanted to try it as well, and again we got the huffy breath and the eye roll from the lady that checked us in. Well, the people that did our nails did a fantastic job for our first time there. Checking out and paying was another ordeal. The three of us wanted to pay separately and the lady at the front had put us all in one ticket. Well, again it was another inconvenience. We got the huffy breath and eye roll and were told it would take too long to separate out our orders. We paid and left unhappy with the customer service that we were given. Be very cautious of this place. The nail colors you pick for your sns will not be the same on your nails. This just happened to me . My nail color was very different. When I asked for it to be corrected the owner told me I would need to come back another day even though they were not that busy. Since I am a mother of twins and work full time, a later date anytime soon was not going to work for me. I then told her I didn't want to pay for the wrong color. At $40.00 I should have what I requested. She walked away and in front of everyone said " I guess you get it for free today". I was very embarrassed. I was not there to get anything for free. Ugh I really gave this place a chance. I've gotten my nails done 3 times and had 3 pedicures. I am super picky about my nails after having the most amazing nail lady the past 8 years who got my shape perfect and has high attention to detail so you're never left with messy around the edges nails. But I was referred by a friend to David who didn't do a good job. I actually had to go back the next day because 3 of my gel nails bubbled and then I gave Bruce a try twice after asking the lady at the front who's the best nail person and can do my shape. And I showed her pictures just like I showed David and Bruce what my nails normally look like and what I want shape wise. Honestly both weren't welcoming at all and almost seemed annoyed and robotic and could care less. I specifically asked for my tips to be painted and showed a pic to Bruce and he still did not do it. The shape was not even close to the pic I showed and uneven shapes at that. Edges left a mess after I told him about another experience I had. And finally I go to pay not happy at all about my nails this last time and I'm told $37. It's normally $32 and I took out $40 cash for the service and tip. Apparently they upped the prices now due to losing money. Ok I am officially done. This place is super close to me but the quality is not good. I used to love Herbal Nails but I had to switch because even if I went to the same nail technician I didn't get a consistently good job. One time I would go and it would be great, the next I would go to the same person and they would be rushing and my nails wouldn't look good. I would often have to come back and use the 7 day policy, which was frustrating since it's so much time and then the tech would seem annoyed. I have been getting SNS done for over 5+ years. I used to have to call and ask salons to do SNS because it wasn't popular yet and I had cancer and was looking for something natural. I drove 50 min each way and paid a LOT of money back then. So, I don't mind paying or spending time if its a good job. With that being said, the owner/manager (not sure) is awesome and was always super friendly and accommodating. She kept me going back for a while and I would go back and try again if needed because of her, knowing she will stay on people and keep trying to make it better and that is why I gave it 3 stars and not less in my frustration. I may have just caught people on a few bad days not caring but that is my 2 cents! read more

Just a little background... I've worn acrylics for years and I really wanted to try something different since my nails have become so damaged. I decided to try this salon because they offer SNS and advertise being a healthy alternative. The salon is super cute and clean & the front desk girl was very nice but the guy who did my nails was very rude (I forgot his name). First of all he would not use the color I chose because he personally did not like it so he kept pushing me to do the one he had in his cart and finally I just caved in because he would not let it go. Once he started to apply the powder I asked him several times if the powder he was using was SNS and he said yes but it reminded me so much of pink acrylic powder & he was applying it like you would acrylics. But since this was my first time getting sns I just went with it because how am I supposed to know the difference ? Any who a week later I went to get my nails done at a different place and the lady assured me that what was on my nails was definitely acrylic... it's very upsetting because that is not what I asked for and I had to go through the pain to remove the nails which damaged them even more!!! So all I can suggest you do if you go here is to make sure you are getting SNS no matter what the nail tech says and do some research before allowing someone to use a new product on you. read more

These people tricked me into getting my lip waxed while I was under the impression it was strictly a consultation. After applying scalding wax without my consent and ripping my skin off by reapplying the same used strip to the area causing me to bleed, I was told that it was because I was white and fair and that's just what I should expect. They then applied an antibiotic and rushed me out of the room while I tried to access the damage, cover the large bleeding marks and gather my belongings. The cashier/manager acknowledged my injuries and still charged me full price and then asked for a tip. The employees AND customers waiting in the lobby of the professional European Wax shop next door were sympathetic and assured me that bleeding and waxing someone without consent is completely out of line. I posted my review 3 weeks ago and to this day have received zero response or apology despite having answering many other reviews far more recent than mine. Do NOT trust these people. read more

My first review ever. I really just need to explain what happened here. I've came to this place about 5 times and the last 3 times were awful. I got a acrylic full set with gel color and hours later several of my nails started chipping. I went back and they had to completely redo all my nails. I seriously don't have time for this. The time before that, I got a chrome color on my acrylic gel nails and they were so badly done that the front desk lady said I could sit down and have them re done or I could have 20% off my next visit. This is TWO times in a row that my nails will unacceptable to me and had to be redone. I'm never going back to this place. The nail techs really aren't that good and can never do any simple designs either. Like the time before all that I asked for a basic yin yang on my nail and it took 3 of them to figure it out and it wasn't even done right! It wasn't even a legit yin yang! Ugh! Really nice set up and beautiful interior but the service was piss poor. I went in with a friend who wanted a full set (acrylic) and I just wanted a gel manicure. First off I wasn't even offered their complimentary mimosa that they normally give out. Each nail tech kept telling me a different price for each service, I got gel (and they kept assuming I was getting a full set, but I had long nails of my own) and I wanted chrome and the first guy tells me it's $15 extra, which is fine I expected something extra but then another older guy starts doing my nails and before he does the chrome he tells me it's $18 extra. And I said I was told $15 and they said the type of chrome I wanted was actually $18, and another type of chrome was $15. The guy doing my nails was really in a hurry, didn't even give me a manicure, or file and shape my nails. I just felt rushed the entire time, all of the nail techs kept coming over to what looked like just to talk about me and the situation. Then another lady with long hair started to actually paint the gel on and not the original guy I started with. After that he even ended up trying to persuade me to get the cheaper chrome instead of the one I actually wanted, because it was easier and faster. And what I originally wanted looked better than what he gave me. To top it off they still ended up charging me the $18 instead of the cheaper priced chrome ($15$ that he told me to get! AND they were going to charge me for 2 full sets instead of 1 and a gel manicure. When I usually get chrome I've never even heard of different priced ones for 1, and 2, not that high of an extra charge either! Went back the next day for them to file and shape my nails how I wanted and also had a crack already in my nail which he still didn't fix right! Herbal Nails Arcadia has by far been my best experience out of all the nail salons I've ever been to! It is clean, feels like a high-end spa, the staff are welcoming and knowledgable, and most of all, they do quality work. My nails always turn out incredible, and as someone who prides myself on living a healthy lifestyle, the SNS is the perfect balance of aesthetic while still being mindful of not exposing myself to harmful chemicals. I was surprised to read some of the negative reviews because that has not been my experience at all. I question whether people know that this location is new and likely has a new owner who is still figuring out its staff. The manager always seems eager to please and I could see her making it right if only she was given the opportunity to. As someone who supports small business, I would encourage everyone to try the Arcadia location Herbal Nails as I believe you will not be disappointed! read more
