There will be a elevator code to enter on some days according to building. It's a small little spa place with a really nice owner. She doesn't speak a lot of English but she massages all her clients to best fit their needs. It might hurt a bit if you get the deep tissue massage if you have a lot of toxins and bad blood circulation in your body. The end result is for your body to readjust and release toxins. I just went the other day and I have to say her massage method has improved over the years and I will start to buy gift cards from her and recommend to friends and family. Cathy is a Master Of Her Craft! Every moment on her table is heaven. I would consider myself an equivalent to a sommelier of massage, and a harsh critique at that! Cathy is simply the best. The office is quiet, the massage table is comfortable and wide, the head rest is comfortable (I've come across some that ruin the relaxation bc they are just off), there's a heater on the bed, the sheets smell great, the oils and scrubs smell great, she has a beautiful essential oil diffuser that gives a light sound of running water and wonderful smells of lavender and jasmine, relaxing music playing in the background on nice speakers that lightly fill the room, even the furniture is beautiful. Cathy does cupping, hot stones, scrubs, walks on your back, and is just great at massaging aside from all the fancy stuff, but I am a lover of the fancy stuff too. - - Also Cathy is nice, so it's good to see her, but she also let's you relax and zone out during the massage. Most uncomfortable experience! I walked into the office and there was a table set up where the "lobby" of the office normally is, where customers enter, exit, and wait. This time there is a massage bed, and I am told they are quite busy so they will do my massage there instead. I am weirded out but continue, she has me get undressed in front of her, again weird... but I continue. As I'm getting my massage, there were customers walking in and out of the room I was in! Most uncomfortable massage I've ever experienced. I said something like "this is very distracting having people walking in and out of this room" My privacy was violated by allowing customers in and out while I'm naked under a sheet being massaged. I found Herbox Spa through a Groupon one night and I was able make my appointment for the next day! I had a really sore back from working all week and sitting on a 9 hour plane ride. Cathy was very responsive and very communicative at where my problem areas were. She defiantly healed my soreness and talked to me about how I can help my back at home. Honestly super disappointed in our experience. I booked a couples massage a couple of months ago through Groupon and tried to book an appointment few different times. I finally booked and we went and it was a great massage. When we first got there, the ladies kept pressuring us to pay extra for the deep tissue massage when we already paid over $200 for the Groupon. They kept saying our Groupon only included a Swedish massage but we denied them multiple times. Then immediately after the massage they tell us that our Groupon expired last week and we have to pay full price for the massage plus tax and tip. Why give us a massage and talk to us like our Groupon is valid when she clearly knew the whole time she was going to charge us full price after? Obviously we should have realized this but we couldn't believe she would actually make us pay for a whole other massage. Essentially we paid for two couples massages and we left really unhappy because we wouldn't have agreed to the massage had we known it was expired. I finally got around to booking an appointment with Kathy and she was very responsive and texted me back right away. Went to my appointment and was greeted by one of the sweetest and nicest people I have met. She's soft spoken and calming.... perfect for a massage therapist I would say. Anyway though, the "proof is in the pudding" as they say so let's talk about her massage... I asked for a deep tissue massage because I feel the knots I accumulate over time need to be broken up and other types of massages just don't cut it for me.... I explained to her my problem areas which are my neck, shoulders and lower back. She began with the top of my head and worked her way down to my neck which she said were hard as rock. It has been awhile since I've had a massage so that was not surprising to me. She has strong hands and worked my neck and shoulder knots out and it was just so great feeling those knots being pressed and rubbed out. She also used her feet on me, and I was wondering if she was holding on to a bar the way she was massaging with such balance. No relief is loss with the use of her feet as they did the job on the shoulders and lower back of loosening up all the tightness I had accumulated over the long layoff between massages. To simply put it, Kathy knows how and what to do when bringing relief to tight and knotted muscles and I will soon be returning as a well satisfied customer ! It was a little hard to find because it is upstairs and there are no signs that say Herbox except a little one next to the door. When you walk in it is not that impressive but I keep an open mind. This was my first time here and I was blessed with Cathy greeting me once I walked in. She took me right in even though I was a little early. I was really tensed and tight in my shoulders and neck. Cathy did such an amazing job that now I feel a huge difference in those areas; I'm more relaxed.
