I don't like to heat food in plastic containers so I tried the steam instructions which did not work as well as I'd hoped. I was always a little skeptical because I've tried a couple other meal prep locations, and the taste was just not there. Since it was Devour Indy and you could get four for $20, I thought this was my chance to give them a try. Let's start with the service. The two individuals working when I stopped in Sunday were very friendly and also very helpful. When you walk in, there are a bunch of freezers to your right. The meals are all lined up and easy to see nutritional value through the glass front freezers. Not much to the place. Freezers and some shelves with a few drinks and snacks. But it was very clean. Now, for the important part: taste. I was very impressed with the taste of the walking tacos! Everything tasted fresh. It had a slight kick, which I enjoyed not spicy just a little kick. I would give it a nine out of 10! Nine because the lime was inside the tray, which made it mushy when warming it up . But that will not stop me from ordering this again. Heard about these this place from my friends who are lifters. Decided to pick up 4 different meals during their devour Indy 4 for $20 deal. I got the Bison burger bowl, the Jambalaya, ghost pepper pork Mac n cheese, and the chicken parm. All the meals were good! Microwaved them for 4 minutes and it was perfect. Pretty good macros for the meals as well. However these are normally anywhere from $7-10 depending on how many you buy. I'd be hard pressed to spend that much on a microwaveable meal, but I'm someone that's used to meal prepping. Also for the price it isn't a ton of food. For someone who doesn't like cooking but wants to be healthy it would be nice to keep a stash of these in your freezer to eat a balanced meal in a pinch. I was here to get a burger at Clancy's and walked by Herculean. I walked through but wanted to bring my wife back before making a purchase. Everything looked like great options. When I brought her back, we looked at the options and decided to buy a variety. I really didn't look at anything closely other than the calories which are prominently posted on the front of the package. When I got to the checkout, I thought they were expensive but they offered that there was a price break at 7. Once I got them home, we have been eating them this week. Every one can be microwaved in 3 minutes and 45 seconds. If you're like me and working at home some days and on videoconferencing back to back, these are a great way to make lunch and get back to work. They've helped me enforce portion control which is always a love/hate thing but they are doing the healthy thing. Where I initially thought these were expensive, they are still cheaper than driving and grabbing lunch somewhere. They are more expensive than microwaving junk but they are significantly healthier so this is a case of getting what you pay for. I'll definitely be repeating. I was first introduced to Herculean Meal Prep by my gym (Orangetheory Fitness). I love the meals. They aren't salty and the flavor sits inside of the food, meaning it's probably been marinated. The meals range between $8-$9 per meal. They come with all of the nutritional facts on the package. Herculean has been one of the most tasty and healthy meal prep services I've used. They also give great recommendations for adding more flavor to the meals. My fave meals are the chicken teriyaki, turkey chili, sunshine beef, peanut butter chicken, and the steak/egg/potatoes. I stumbled onto this meal prep storefront while buying a couch in the same center. I stopped in, and found out it was a grab and go frozen meal prep store. I grabbed a few entrees to try, and am super pleasantly surprised. Even though the entrees are frozen, everything tasted super fresh, and the quality is better than many restaurants. Eww, that's what goes through my mind every time I take a bite of one of these meals. I'm new to Indianapolis, but used a meal prep meals in my old town. I was excited to find Herculean because it reminded me of my previous way of life. Last week I walked into Herculean and happily bought 21 meals. I looked over the menu and found a few meals that seemed tasty. The menu did lack vegan options which was surprising. Anyways, the store provided a check list which I filled out. A few minutes later, the saleslady had my meals nicely packaged. I asked if I should puncture the meal before microwaving and was told no. All I need to do is cook for 3:30. While I was in the store, another customer suggested I buy sugarless BBQ sauce since the meat can be dry. I guess that should have been a lightbulb, but it wasn't. Over $150 later, I was on my at home with tons of meals and bbq sauce. I was excited to try my first meal! First meal I tried was the chicken pesto. So it was small, but I guess that normal. I put it in the microwave and I was ready to eat. The meal was chicken pesto, rice and green beans. So the greens beans were flavorless, but okay. The rice was rice. The chicken was chewy. Not a good chewy, but a gross chewy. Yuck. I couldn't taste any pesto. I barely could find any pesto sauce. Overall I give the meal a 3 out of 10. I wouldn't want to eat it everyday, but I would eat it if I was starving. Next day I tried the BBQ salmon. I microwaved and took one bite. I immediately had to throw it away. Yuckkk, Gross. Don't even try it. Actually, if you would like to try it- let me know. I have a freezer full of meals that's I'll never eat. I don't even feel comfortable donating these meals because they are gross. So let me know if you would like one and you can pick it up. HercuLean will make you lean from throwing up your meals. Probably not a safe way to lose weight, but to each his own. read more

This place is great. At first, I was nervous to try it out, as I saw some reviews that said the meals are low on flavor. I just have one question for those people - which meal were ya'll eating?? I've really enjoyed pretty much every meal that I've had from Herculean! Not only are they tasty/flavorful, but they're also extremely low in calories. And surprisingly, for being SO low in calories, they're darn filling. They don't skimp on the protein. I'm also not a big vegetable eater, so these meals ensure that I have at least a FEW vegetables in my life. Bravo. My mom would be happy. Some oh my favorite meals are: steak and eggs (SO flavorful), pork carnitas, walking taco, jambalaya (pretty darn spicy, but good), buffalo chicken mac & cheese, and pulled pork mac & cheese. The meals are delicious. I looked at maybe three after I warmed them and knew I wasn't going to like them. WRONG. My only problem is I'm a big eater so I have to add rice or pasta w/the meals. Other than that, I no longer have to worry about what I'm going to have for dinner, how long it's going to take to make, etc. I feel this company is a blessing from God to me, I love their story and bon appetit everybody. read more

As a college student I've been buying Herculean Meals for my fraternity house. The 35 meals that I buy at a time are gone within 12 hours. I'm not saying that my frat bros have the most refined taste buds, but they are choosing a Herculean Meal that contains rice and broccoli over mini corn dogs and macaroni. Even the guys whose diet basically consists of dino nuggets, hot pockets, and pizza rolls were impressed by how good the healthy meat, bedding, and vegetables could taste. Confused by some of the other reviews I'm reading about no taste or bad taste. Add some sauce? If these guys who only eat a vegetable when it comes distilled in a glass rave about the meals, you should love them. The menu is always evolving and even though that means losing some great meals, (RIP turkey meatball) the meals they have recently added have been unbelievable. My current favorites are BBQ Chicken, Totchos (11/10 unbelievable), and the Macs for when I need some soul food without feeling bad for it. Negatives: Sometimes they come a little thawed which is to be expected. Gotta make sure to put them in the freezer right away and then give them some time to refreeze. read more

These guys legit changed the game of food and nutrition for me. This is my first time ordering from a meal prep company and I was very skeptical-mainly that I would not enjoy the food. I was not only wrong about that-I had an assumption on frozen food reheated that was inaccurate. This is delicious and i believe because it's "fresh" frozen it really does taste like it has just been cooked. I was a little perplexed reading HercuLean's Yelp reviews. My experience is much different. I'd been looking for something like this for awhile. I want to eat healthy and don't always have time to meal prep. I started with the 7 Day Plan to give it a try. I'm 2 meals in and so far the meals are fantastic. I tried the turkey meatballs first and really enjoyed the flavor. It was obvious there were no fillers, just good clean food. Today I had the pulled pork and couldn't believe how lean it was. The meals are good but the in-store customer service is terrible. There was a lady working at the front who was not helpful and quite rude when we were checking out. The atmosphere in the store needs some work, it was not welcoming at all. I've enjoyed some of the meals, but definitely not enough to purchase from them again.
