My husband and I were on the hunt for a cool spot that served balanced, healthy vegan food, and we stumbled upon this gem thanks to Yelp! From the moment we walked in, we were impressed. The space is super clean with a cozy, modern vibe. The staff greeted us warmly and took our order right away--great service always sets the tone. We ordered the BEC Bagel (vegan bacon, egg, and cheese) and the SEC Bagel (vegan sausage, egg, and cheese), and wow... both were absolutely delicious! The flavors were rich, satisfying, and so well-balanced, it's the kind of vegan comfort food that keeps you coming back. This place didn't just satisfy our cravings; it surprised us in the best way possible. It's officially made its way into our top 3 favorite vegan restaurants--and that includes all of Illinois and Indiana! If you're vegan (or even just vegan-curious), we highly recommend checking this place out. Do yourself a favor and try the bagels--you won't regret it!

We came here on a whim for lunch as we were both craving something light but more on the heavy side. I ordered a bacon ranch burger with sweet potato fries. It was scrumptious!!! There is some sort of honey sauce they drizzle on top which makes it taste even more amazing and brings all the flavors together. I used some sort of chilli sauce for my sweet potato fries which paired nicely as well. For a drink I had one of their lemonades and the only downside is I couldn't get a refill, lol. The place was quiet and we had our meal within 15 minutes of ordering. If you're in a hurry you should definitely place your order ahead of time, but if not take the time to sit and enjoy your food. We were in during the later part of the lunch hour so it was not insanely busy which was nice. Unfortunately I do think you have to be specifically looking for this place to find it as the street is kind of off to the side, but once you know it's there, I guarantee you'll be going back several times. And what's even better is it's next to the canal so you can go for a walk too!

Clean space , great food and affordable. I had the bagel (sausage and cheese) and it's delicious.

I'm traveling from Texas and this place is located inside the building . The place is clean , the staff is very friendly and the food is AMAZING. I had the bagel with sausage and cheese is delicious. The raspberries cake is moist with fresh raspberries. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone coming near the area.

Service was amazing. Such friendly staff! The food was good, but messy! Would have been nice to have knives. Would also like to see plates and silverware vs. carry out containers and plasticware for those dining in. The price was a little steep, but I'm willing to pay that for a great local business. You will need to pay to park, so be prepared for that.

A black-owned business that is also vegan and their food is amazing The owners are very engaging and helpful if you don't know what to order. I ordered the guacamole burger. This is a 100% plant based patty topped with guacamole and a teriyaki sauce. The flavors will have you rethinking your need to have red meat. It's a little pricy but well with it.

I would like to stay the staff was very friendly. The young lady worked in the register was very sweet. We had been doing some work, so we stopped in to get a bite to eat. The mac & cheese certainly looked fire, and I thought it was mediocre. Presentation was a five star. It was just the taste was not there for me. I felt the dill was overpowering. My daughter took one bite of it, and would not eat it. It totally may just be us because we are not typical, vegan cuisine eaters. Strawberry cake was also mediocre. But let's talk about that lemonade-Now that was five star! They've got that mastered! It's a cute little set up. I like the plants sitting around.

Black Leaf Vegan They were out of a few things when I went. I ended up trying the Crabless Crab Cake sandwich. It comes with ranch (which I don't like) so I subbed for mayo. It was good. I disliked their seasoned fries. They didn't taste fresh. They tasted like they were reheated from a frozen state. The potato salad was different but good. The Apple Pineapple Smoothie was delicious. I didn't like the Biscoff cake. It had the consistency of a typical gluten-free dough. I don't know if it was gluten-free, but that was what it reminded me of - thick and grainy. I was in Indy for a month but wasn't compelled to return to try more things. Customer service was very good though.

Great food! I had the guac burger, which I believe was a beyond patty on a pretzel style bun. My friend got the loaded nachos. Both were absolutely fantastic. Service was great with the nice lady behind the counter explaining the options clearly. I also had a Lovely Lemonade and my friend had a cider. This would be a nice place to just get a coffee and work, too, if you were so inclined.

I was so pleased to see the food truck parked on Delaware during the Proof Lit Fest! After confirming that the nachos were gluten free, I ordered them. They were $15, which I think is a bit high. It did come in a fairly hefty container, loaded with sauce. There was some kind of vegan meat substitute on it, and it was pretty good! I think the nachos would've been better overall with the cheeze melted a bit--the shreds were just kind of there--and more lettuce added on top. The ratios seemed a little off for my taste. But I was glad to try these out at the event and I'll try more options at Black Leaf Vegan in the future--whether in shop or via the food truck again. The staff were friendly and quick to get my order out, and I'm sure they'd be just as kind in their other location.

I really wanted to love this place. I was excited to find a vegan restaurant in Indy! We came for an early lunch on a Saturday at 11:30am. Ordered crab cakes + fries and a chicken quesadilla. Pros: - Food was good. Visually, very appealing. Flavor wasn't super memorable, though. - Couch to sit on while we waited. - Ample seating. - Friendly staff. - Vegan! - Offered us sweet chili sauce instead of ketchup (though this was too spicy for my 5-year-old). - Parking in the garage next door was free but this may have only been temporary, because it looked like the system was broken. - Small, local business. Cons: - They wouldn't honor the Yelp check-in free beverage. Bummer, since that was something I was excited about! - A little expensive for the volume of food you get. Somehow it felt like our order cost more than what the menu prices listed..? - The food took a very long time to come out. - Others received their orders before us even though they ordered after us. - No Ketchup for fries. - No napkins?

THIS place: everything on the menu was vegan, almost all of it was made in-house, and all of it recreated favorite dishes with plant-based ingredients -- wow! I used to love Reuben sandwiches, and theirs was really remarkably good, by any standards! Instead of the chips that came with my sandwich (their chips are really good corn tortilla chips), I upgraded to a light summer cucumber salad, with cherry tomatoes and onions in a creamy dill dressing. Cleaned my plate -- everything was delicious. They even had homemade mango lassis, which I couldn't refuse. Tasted like rich mango nectar. Tasty! Service is at the counter, although they bring your order out to you. Ambience is clean, tidy and cool -- simple diner decor, with a tiny private side patio that let us enjoy the fine day, but was a bit noisy with loud cars roaring past. I'm so glad I discovered this place! I'm definitely returning. And they do take-out too, for those days I'm too busy to cook a from-scratch meal...

The atmosphere is cozy and upscale. They are now doing fine dining. This is a first for Indy and I love that they are pushing forward in this space. My friend and I went on opening night and we shared the calamari. For my main dish I ordered the steak filet which came with truffle mashed potatoes, asparagus and cranberry sauce. My friend had the house made fettuccine. When I tell you it was all so delicious. It took a little more time, but that has to be expected in fine dining anyway. But the big wow is, they are making the pasta by hand prior to making the dish. That's truly outstanding. It truly elevates the dish. Everything we had was so flavorful. When I heard cranberry sauce I was like, hmm how is this gonna work?? Oh it worked! It paired so well with the rest of the dish. For desert we had the leaving the nest which was chocolate ganache on a nest of chocolate with a hand made chocolate cookie. Me nor my friend like chocolate much, but the quality and flavor of this desert was one that I could enjoy again. I will definitely be back and I suggest the same for you. Very proud of this establishment. They are resilient and brilliant and they truly care about their customers and their business. Much love.

Then again, it's not an uncommon story unfortunately- large parts of the city forgotten in terms of economic development but then suddenly needed during times of campaigning. Had taken Keystone and then Rural Street to get here, and the potholes are not kind. But, we had this place on our list and were determined to make it here at least once. Tlaolli stood out for its vegan offerings. Plenty of vegan taco options, birria (an absolute rarity to see vegan birria), and torta. They offer soy chorizo, jackfruit, and king oyster mushrooms as protein options. The exterior is colorful, and inside there are seating options. We had gotten our food to go, so I cannot comment too much on the service. Had placed our order online, and the food was ready within the estimated time in the order. We ordered the vegan birria tacos ($17.99), the vegan torta ($10.99 base but added soy chorizo, which was $3.99), and the no-no-no taco ($5.99). Our total with fees was approximately $45. Tlaolli offers outdoor seating, so when the weather is nicer this would be a good place to come. Next to the East Washington IPL branch, Tlaolli has a colorful green exterior with neon signage. Food: The food was very good. The proteins were nicely seasoned and juicy. The highlight for me was the birria tacos and the consome. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. 10/10. This is a great local business in the area to support: offers a diverse menu of options with food that is comforting and tasty.

We came in on a Friday night at 6:30 with no reservation, and had to wait ~5 minutes for a table of two. We were sat at a high top at the bar, which we appreciated. Our server greeted us quickly, and checked in a few times throughout the night. Service was average, nothing spectacular but nothing to complain about. I had a hurricane to start off. Packed full of the good stuff, and one was definitely enough for the night. Appropriate price for what you get. This drink is what brought my review from a 2 for the food to a 3 in total. We started off with pork Bao buns. The bun was spongy, but somewhat dry. The pork lacked any sort of flavor, and the sauce on it didn't do much for me. The next part of the meal was the most disappointing for me: the curry chicken wings. Let me tell you- I was excited for these. These lacked any sort of flavor at all, and the only thing saving it was the ranch. The wings had a good crisp, but the sauce was lacking taste. I had the Shoyu ramen for my main. It was a pretty average bowl of ramen, but for the price, I expected more. The pork in it was flavorful, but the chicken in it was odd in my opinion with an unexpected herby flavor. Overall, service was average (but we appreciated getting sat fast), drinks were strong (and saved the meal) and the food was average. Would go if invited by a friend, but probably would not return on my own.

This is explained on the website and I believe when I made a reservation online. With about 10 minutes yet to go on our 90 minutes, a person whom i assume was the manager came to our table to remind us. This was okay although it could have been worded differently. We were just paying the bill that had just arrived when she came back again stating she had a reservation waiting and she needed us to basically leave. We did not see anyone waiting either at the hostess stand or outside but rules are rules. Again it could have been worded differently and perhaps it could have been suggested we could finish at the bar (perhaps those are also reserved though) or to one of the empty tables outside. If you want excellent food and great service and you can be finished in 90 minutes I would recommend Bodhi. I also understand turning tables. Just know the timeframe does not allow for dessert (or an appetizer as we did) unless you hurry and you had best be watching the clock or the manager will make it clear you need to leave.

We of course had to order some cocktails, we ordered our birthstones or on their menu their collection from Gems of Siam "Black Star Sapphire" and "Ruby" The Ruby ended up being the star of the show! The most unique drink we both have tried! We have never experienced something quite like that! Each bite you can taste the love that was put in. Every interaction from the staff from dining room, patio, to front of the house you feel the love. Every laugh, every clink of the glass you hear the love! BODHI was built on a strong foundation of love. Three generations of Thai women, three generations of true love, true grit, dreams coming true. (To those reluctant to give this place a whirl due to the time limit, my tip? Be mindful of how your time is spent. Of course be present with your family, friends, colleagues, guests. It's doable! There are also times where they may not have to strictly enforce, however if you know you like to spend more time on your meal and in conversation, try coming on a weekday or coming earlier!
