He had had a very delicate operation to repair a tricky break in the tibia bone of his back right leg. They had installed a metal brace and screws and wire. Very expensive and extremely important to contain the cat so he would not harm the leg while it is healing. I had an out of state family funeral to attend and was in a panic. I googled something like post-surgery in home care in Santa Fe. Her website plus one other Pet Hospital came up. I reviewed her website, noticed how well it was designed with attention to detail (very important) and that she was licensed via the city of Santa Fe for animal care. I never even felt the need to review the other website. My cat, named Kitty, needed 24/7 care and someone with experience handling medications and delicate post-surgery care. I emailed her of my upcoming needs, as it was late on a Sunday and I needed to leave in 4 or 5 days. We spoke the next day and went over all my concerns. As we spoke it was so obvious that she was very experienced in the post-surgery needs of an animal. Additionally, she demonstrated a deep understanding of relating to the cats and dogs she takes care of. If you want to just have Irina go to your home and feed and water and clean up after your pets while you are away that is of course possible also. Irina sent me wonderful photos and reports everyday of Kitty. I felt completely confident that Kitty got excellent care and attention...complete with a heated rug his first day there to comfort him as he adjusted to this new environment. I could go on and on but don't want to make this any longer. In short, all pet owners in Santa Fe, are lucky to have Irina the Pet Angel of Santa Fe as an option for animal care when the need arises. We were impressed that she showed up wearing catnip-scented shoes which helped put the cats at ease. Two of our cats require daily meds, and she said she has plenty of experience with that. She texted updates to us while we were gone, letting us know that the cats had no problem with her giving their meds to them, and that everyone was friendly and eating well. Our alarm system let us know when she arrived and how long she stayed, two visits a day, and she was always at the house for about 45 minutes. We highly recommend The Cat Concierge.

I'm sure most people never are made aware of how neglected their animals are, but I happen to have a security system that monitors activity and was appalled to find out her $35 visits only lasted about 15 minutes each. That means I ended up paying her $140 AN HOUR for my four day vacation. I came home to find my cat terrified and crying under the entertainment center. Very sad treatment coming from someone who claims to love animals. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE. (I made her aware of this prior to leaving a review, and she showed no concern and told me that she has too many clients to spend that kind of time with each animal)

Nevertheless, our dog was last groomed 6 weeks ago. When I picked up my dog, I found that they had cut her ears all the way to the leather and shaved all the hair off her ears claiming her hair was matted. It wasn't matted, she is groomed monthly and we brush her ears. More importantly, I didn't give them permission to shave my dog's ears making her look freakish. I will never go back. Odd that a groomer would do such a thing without calling first. There are other more capable groomers in Santa Fe.

I am SO glad I followed the recommendation. My Labradoodle and I arrived when they opened, and the gentleman at the front desk spent a lot of time with me as I described exactly what I wanted, showed him pictures, etc. I figured he would think I was crazy, but then he showed me how they keep detailed notes on each animal they groom, so they can do the exact same groom each time, or tweak it according to the owner's desires. When I picked up my buddy a few hours later, I was so thrilled to see him. He looked better than he's ever looked-----even better than the photos I'd left with them. They even took the time to carefully trim his face to show off his 2 inch eyelashes. Sweet! AND.....the price was less than Barks and Bubbles. After my last experience there, I will never go back to B&B. Everyone we came in contact with at ENV was super-friendly, from the first phone contact to pick up. From now on it is only ENV for me and my four legged furbaby.
