I dropped my dog off to be groomed and they charged me $110 - for a terrier. Never again. I went to PetSmart- $58.

The first time I took my cat here I was at first really nervous, my cat gets pretty bad separation anxiety and I hadn't taken her to a hotel. I kept asking for pictures to get emailed, when I didn't get them I got nervous, but it turned out they were being filtered by gmail. When I got my cat back the staff talked about how much they love her and specifically how cute it was that she eats with her paws. It was clear they really cared and my cat who normally freaks out whenever we're separated was a lot less neurotic when I got her home. They loved my cat, and ultimately isn't that what you want from a pet sitter? read more

They keep the dogs kenneled the entire time. The facility seemed clean, although it was really just a big room of several kennels. The outside potty are had poop on the ground. The workers weren't overly friendly and seemed to be less than interested in our dogs. The only reason we used them was because we had tickets to Meow Wolf and could not bring our boys with us through the exhibit. I am giving them two stars over one only because of the convenience and proximity to Meow Wolf. They are in my opinion overpriced for the lack of care your dogs receive. When we checked our dogs in we were told to bring them outside to go potty before being kenneled. The employee told us she would stay outside with them while they did their business if we wanted to head out for Meow Wolf. However, right as we were leaving, we saw her go right back inside the building leaving our dogs alone. Another employee let me know that the dogs would not be taken outside due to a small amount of snow on the ground, although it was sunny and was not actually snowing. I would not recommend this place to any fellow dog owners. It was really difficult for us to trust these people with our babies :( read more

I boarded my three dogs for a week, one of them being a four month old puppy. I called every day, and they were always friendly and responsive to my phone calls. When we decided to leave one day early and asked if they could be bathed and ready to go before noon, they happily complied. Much to my delight, when I picked the dogs up, they were happy and healthy and clean. I will continue to board my dogs there whenever I'm in the area. I would give zero stars if I could. Our otherwise healthy dog stayed there for 2 days. Our dog came home scared, filthy and very sick with a gastrointestinal bacterial infection. This amounted to costly vet care and time consuming monitoring and treatment. We were informed it was likely he got it there. We are crossing our fingers that he won't need to be hospitalized. Warning to anyone thinking about boarding your dog or cat there. I would not recommend. read more

Z Pet Spa on Harrison in Santa Fe is the only place we will board our furkid. We are frequent travelers to the area and the owner Mark is very accommodating. He will go the extra mile for his clients. We are able to go to shows and activities knowing our boy will be ok. Many attractions, such as the Puye Cliff Dwellings and Valles Caldera Natural Preserve do NOT allow pets, even in your car, so to have the service of Z Pet Spa has made our trips and excursions great. Our rescue #billytheresquecavalier (he is on IG) actually likes to stay there and goes in willingly which is rare for him. The facility is clean, the staff personable and friendly. They do grooming too! I feel comfortable leaving our precious furkid at Z Pet Spa as I know he will be very well taken care of. The fees are very reasonable. read more

I take my daughters cat to Zpet hotel when we go on our week long vacations. At first I was skeptical because Lilian is not comfortable with us being gone but when I dropped her off for the first time I felt extremely comfortable leaving her. We have been taking her there for 3 years and we have developed great friendships with Mark & Julia. We also take our Maltese there for grooming and she does a wonderful job! I saw a post about Z Pet Hotel and Spa on a Facebook group. I decided to give them a try. They were very friendly and professional. I was able to get my dog in with a one week notice. When my dog came home he looked amazing! He's a Saint Bernard and can be a pain to wash and brush. They did a great job on his long hair AND the price was fair. David and Charles are awesome! Charles takes great care of our little guy EVERY time we take him there and he always looks great. It's obvious Charles loves what he does and is kind and gentle with our little boy. He ALWAYS comes back happy and content. We started going to Z Pet after a very bad experience with Petsmart which should be avoided at all cost. We've recommended Z Pet many times and will continue to do so. I live further north of Santa Fe and I just want to say these guys are worth the drive! I have had such a hard time finding a groomer since moving up here and it was a sincere miracle to find these guys. My boys get the de-shedding treatment and let me tell you, these guys work miracles! Michael has been my dogs' groomer and he always does a great job. Of course you can never truly stop shedding, but my dogs barely have any hair fall off after their treatment at Z Pet Hotel. They are priced better than anyone I have found in Santa Fe after trying multiple groomers. An added bonus is they offer free dayboarding until 4:30pm with every bath/haircut! I HIGHLY recommend this place for grooming needs because you can't get more compassion and professional service. By the way, the owner is awesome. The folks at Z Pet Hotel & Spa are amazing. Mark, the Owner; Charles, the Groomer; Inger, the Manager and all ancillary staff treat my 14 year old Miniature Schnauzer, Aaron with as much love and tenderness as I. My pup has a standing groom appointment every third Saturday at 10am. Charles is expert in seeing that Aaron is groomed to perfection and to my liking. Aaron appreciates Charles' gentle demeanor. I recently boarded Aaron for 5 days with Z Pet. He was returned to me happy, healthy and meticulously groomed. He was fed to the directions I left . . . including the supplements that Aaron requires on a 2x daily basis. He immediately resumed his normal pattern at home without any complications. Took my dog into the spa for a day of fun and pampering. The owner proceeded to complain to me about the conditions of the area, the homeless, a local church and the governor. I didn't want to hear it....I have my own problems, don't bring me into yours. I let it go. I came back at the end of the day, and this schmuck started in on it again. He's allows his emotions too take over to the point of being a hysteric. Dude, we all have to live together and not seperate and divide each other. And I lived in Los Angeles for three decades....this is the human condition throughout the United States in 2021. It certainly didn't start with this governor. And, after starting in again on the local volunteers and staff on the local church that is actually trying to help and heal, I stopped him in his hysterics, told him that HE was certainly part of the problem, shut him down, paid my bill, and took my dog and myself to the car. The worst part was, he told me that he could move elsewhere, but he wasn't. Instead, he was going to spend his time and energy trying to get rid of the church and the homeless. Great use of your time, dude. He appeared to me to be a thousand times worse than any of the homeless I passed. God, this guy made me mad and ill. I have never used the terms 'snowflake' and 'Karen' in a review before, but this guy is both. I don't want to hear your drama, dude. Give me my dog and stfu. There are plenty of other doggie spas in Santa Fe. I would never ever ever go back to this one. The typically 'Not In my neighborhood' attitude. Reminded my of Mrs. Kravitz in Bewitched. I used this business based on the reviews but I had a VERY different experience. When you drive up the place looks very run down. It is surrounded buy several different types of fences all topped with barb wire. Maybe because it is next to some kind of homeless shelter. When I picked up my dog she was covered in feces. I had to ask them to clean it off before I could put her in my car . They did a half a**ed job and the dog had to be brought right to a groomer so I could drive home to Colorado without the windows open. Never again. read more

My goldendoodle's regular groomer had shoulder surgery so I had to find a new doggie spa. After carefully perusing reviews I called Z Pet Hotel for an appointment, they were able to take my dog the very next day. The facility is conveniently located just off Cerrillos Road. It's spacious with really nice decor I was greeted and helped by Jade. She asked me to describe the cut I wanted for my dog in detail. When I returned several hours later (doggie daycare is free with grooming) I was so so happy with his haircut. Jade told me she at her former job she used to groom many doodles every month. Well, her expertise certainly showed in the haircut she gave my boy. He looks absolutely beautiful, with the perfect teddy-bear head and plumed tail. While this facility is very clean and well-appointed, I'm not sure if I would want my dog to board. Dogs are kept in separate chain-link kennels, Jade told me there are fewer problems when the dogs don't play together. My dog is used to boarding in a home-like environment with lots of interaction and socializing. Bottom line, I definitely recommend Z Pet Hotel for grooming. They did a great job at a fair price. read more

We traveled to Santa Fe for mountain biking and didn't want to leave our 7 week old puppy behind. Obviously, such a small pup can't go biking with us, so Z Pet took care of her while we were out and also kept her for a few nights so we could get some sleep. Mark was great to work with & gave us some puppy advice, and the staff loved our pup. The place is clean inside, too. read more

We had to travel to Santa Fe at the spur of the moment to tend to a loved one in Saint Vincent's. Our lab's love to travel with us, and we enjoy having them as well. I called Mark at Z Pet Spa, and he was very kind and accommodating. We were able to get our two dogs boarded upon our arrival. ZPet was clean and spacious for our two dogs. When I met Mark, he was talking with another client, who was very appreciative of the staff's care of her elderly, but very sweet little dog. I called to check on our two pups, and Charles was always giving us good reports. Sadie and Charlie settled very well into the routine. We also had them groomed during their stay. All in all our two gals were very happy pups. We will most certainly board again when we travel again to Santa Fe. Thank you for taking care of our girls!! read more

Sorry do not recommend and definitely not after my last experience. I had complained to the owner Mark regarding the past two times my dog was cut and my dog did not smell clean and the haircut awful! I was willing to give Mark another chance that was until my last visit when he had me confront his employees about the terrible job and I felt it was my my job and further I was extremely embarrassed as they were as well. He also charged me $20.00 than what I normally pay!!! Sorry but Mark should of NEVER terminated Charles employmenT. During a 2000+ mile drive, my mom and I stopped in Santa Fe for a night. The next day we did Meow Wolf (highly recommend) but I needed somewhere to keep my Bunny while we were there. Even though Z is typically a cat and dog sort of establishment, they let me drop him off! They watched over him and clipped his nails and they were AMAZING! Great customer service, SO kind!! The workers do not supervise the dogs. My Great Danes were left outside unsupervised long enough to chew their harness off and probably swallow some small pieces of it before they even realized it. When the harness should have been removed in the first place. So not only did they digest the harness, it was completely ruined and they are not cheap. And when we picked up our dogs all they said was oh by the way one of the dogs chewed one of the other dogs harness!? read more

Being new to Santa Fe, and needing an excellent place to board my Aussie/border collie Mix and get his regular grooming done. This place is it. I have boarded my dog here on several occasions and have had him groomed. Never any problems. My dog goes into the facility with no issues or complaints which means he very comfortable here. We took our 2 cats to get bathed, trimmed and groomed (this was on a Saturday). Our older cat came back exhausted and went immediately to bed and did not come out for 2.5 days not even to eat food (and he loves to eat!). I took a look at him and could see that both his eyes were blood shot. It was as if the blood vessels were busted which usually occurs with strain. We took him to the vet on Monday when they opened to get examined and the Veterinarian said that the only cases he seen with eyes and blood vessels busted was with strangulation. The Veterinarian suggested we file a report with the Animal Humane Services so we did and they did an investigation. The photos takes were unfortunately on Monday, 2 days after the initial incident and his eyes were already getting better. During the veterinary check up the doctor also found a HUGE tumor on the cat. Although it is not the groomer's responsibility it would have to nice of them to inform us of such a serious thing which we did not know about. The experience was very traumatic for our cat and regret taking him there and putting him through all of this ordeal. I would not recommend. This review is for their grooming services only since I haven't used them for boarding. For grooming, my dogs need little - the occasional bath and the more often nail trim and such (I cut too short one time and am afraid to do it now). So while this place may not look like a pet salon in Beverly Hills or have a ton of frills, these guys are just about the only ones in town who won't price gouge you, which I deeply appreciate. I have used Z Pet Salon about 4 times now, and I am very happy with their services. They are quick, friendly, and efficient, as well as knowledgeable around animals and seem to actually like them. Those are 5 great qualities! If I weren't leaving town, I'd keep going back. read more

The owner and the groomer were very professional and very kind. Charles, the groomer took very good care of both of our babies, which are 13 year old Maltese. We left our little Lucy dog at Z Pet hotel for the 1st time and was pretty happy at the service we received. Lucy appears to have done well there with the attention she received. Amazing place to take your pets for boarding or grooming. The owner Mark, is extremely nice and the staff seems to really know what they are doing. Even though I just have short haired little dogs they still did an awesome job with their grooming and when I left them for boarding for almost two weeks they weren't stressed out and terrified when I picked them up which was pretty much what I'd come to expect when picking them up from boarding. I'm sad that I was only passing through Santa Fe as this is the best place I've found for my kids. Will certainly use them again if we ever pass through. Thank you z pet!! read more

Our medium sized dog, Biscuit, is a bit grouchy but she loves Z Pet Hotel. In fact I'm always a bit disappointed when she is so happy to get to Z Pet and doesn't seem at all sad to leave me. It is wonderful piece of mind to know she'll be happy, clean, and healthy when we pick her up. read more

It's basic, but they had a nice size kennel and stayed together and lots of attention from the staff. Charles even went the extra mile and bathed them before I returned to pick them up, since he knew we had a two-day roadtrip ahead of us.
