Very excited to have found Paws Plaza. We've been taking our pup to zoomies because they have fantastic hours, but I wanted a daycare location that has an outdoor area. After some research, I found Paws Plaza. I took a tour of the facility because we will be boarding our dog there soon. I just stopped in without making an appointment or calling ahead, and asked for a tour. The boarding kennels and play areas were clean. The outside areas are great, and the staff said that the dogs have inside/outside access unless there is bad weather. I spent well over $1,000 with Paws Plaza I was called at 1:23 pm 10/21 and told Akira my Malamute husky's paw was bleeding which was caused by a splinter or an abscess by Chris/Mike the dog trainer. He even had a fellow female employee co-sign the lie. When I asked if she was a vet she said no but I've worked with animals a long time ... long enough for her inability to distinguish an abcess from a splinter from a superficial cut under a dogs paw ... the Vet at Gruda that examined her the next day said, "she has a superficial wound probably from a rock or a nail" that was obviously in Paws Plaza's yard. They refused to take any responsibility, actually charging me for their negligence . Paws Plaza makes up stories to cover their bums and TELLS Lies and just know your pet will get hurt in their care ... and, because of their disclaimer, it will be your fault! Ijs read more

Paws Plaza would have gotten 5 stars before it was sold to a corporation and is now part of a chain. Naturally, the prices have gone up, the bureaucracy and rigamarole increased (i.e., every meal separately bagged, etc.), the ubiquitous tip jar and tablet "option" is present (presumably because they're not paying the staff appropriately), they've found ways to nickel-and-dime and add upcharges (for instance, they charge for "puppy postcards" and for "cuddling" your dog which, I assume means that other dogs are ignored), and the service has gone down. For instance, for overnight boarding PP used to have someone who would stay overnight to make sure the dogs were ok. Now, despite a price increase and despite the website stating that the staff will "ensure all their needs are met while you are away" no one is staying overnight. For overnight stays, I'd rate them a 3-star but for daycare, I'd still give it 4-stars. read more

I love Paws Plaza for my collies, Romulus and Remus. They love to play with other dogs. Paws Plaza gives them that opportunity. If I lived a little closer I would take them weekly. They come home happy and exhausted. Especially when the weather is cold and windy and their walks aren't as long as they'd like Paws Plaza gives them an opportunity to burn energy and play, play, play! Sometimes other people are picking up their dogs and I get to meet their playmates, which I love. Not my first choice for doggie day care. Or even my second. My experience is that other places in town, such as Santa Fe Tails, give the dogs more one on one care. Plus other places will do overnights as well. After going to Paws Plaza over a dozen times within a two month period, they still didn't recognize me OR my very distinctive dog when we walked in. Really got old. "Oh, and who is this? And has he been here before? And does he have an appointment? Full day or half-day?" Seriously? The owner is also fond of lecturing owners about the "right" way to do things with their dogs. I have many, many years of experience with dogs and all of my dogs have been very well behaved. I believe there are many paths to doggie enlightment, whereas this owner and her employees have a "my way or the highway" attitude. I was able to observe a few times, and he had made some dog friends, and seemed to be having a great time. I leave him there when my days at work are going to be long, and they feed him with the food I bring, and when I've forgotten, feed him with their own kibble. I also leave his bed there so he can have a nap. The staff have been great, and Jenna especially made us feel very at home there. She's obviously a great dog person. When I pick my little guy up, he's exhausted from all the socializing. I'm leaving one star off because of their shorter Saturday hours, and because they are closed on Sundays. I'm glad the employees get regular days off of course, but Sunday is a day I need to bring him to daycare the most. read more

I am so thrilled to have discovered Paws Plaza earlier this year! My male standard poodle, Leo, has been going to what I call "doggy day camp" at Paws Plaza twice a week since he was six months old. He is over-the-top excited when we arrive and exhausted from play when we leave. Paws Plaza offers the best solution for me: I don't have a large yard and so walk Leo every day no matter what, but he needs and loves socialization with other dogs, and sometimes I need a break! The staff and owner Chris are marvelous, loving and patient with him and professional and courteous with me. I also have left Leo for boarding from two to five days at a time and he's done fine. Staff have called me when Leo had issues during doggy day camp (bile barfing after too little breakfast, for example) and Chris has educated me about safe dog chews and the like.
