Not sure why others had such poor service. We have had good results and fair treatment. When a part was not readily available and the dash was taken apart rather than put it back together without fixing the problem since is was related to airbag, they provided us with a rental vehicle for the duration. On another occaision when my spouse had to wait too long for a simple service they not only gave us a free oil change, but then sent us a $150 gift card. Seems like they are making a sincere effort to provide improved service. BTW we own three Ford vehicles and they are mich less expensive to maintain than the Volvos and Saabs we' ve owned in the past. read more

We couldn't be more disappointed, and we might even have to file a Lemon Law violation. My wife purchased this 2021 Ford Explorer approximately 5 weeks ago from Key Chevy in White River Jct. VT (we live in Essex, VT). She had the TPMS sensor go off within 20 miles of returning home. Additionally, the high beams didn't work nor did the left turn signal indicator. The vehicle had a new VT state inspection sticker on it and has now been serviced at Key in South Burlington as well as Heritage Ford twice. The problems are yet to be resolved. All this over a couple parts that cost a few hundred dollars. This is one of 4 vehicles we use for our business, and you can bet that Heritage Ford and Key will not see any further vehicle sales from us again. The lack of customer service is terrible and the excuses as well as delays are endless. As a business owner myself I would NEVER put a customer through this much. The vehicle has spent more time at service repair locations than with us! I highly recommend looking elsewhere for your next vehicle and avoiding repairs at either of these dealerships at all costs. I recently bought a used car ( 9 months ago to be precise) from them and the battery just went poof. Gone. The guy that gave me the boost said that this battery seems to be old. Or defective. I called them so they can replace it and they simply said no. They will charge me for a new one. I thought that one of the perks of buying an used car from the dealer was that they will respond if anything was wrong with it. I was with Heritage Ford for many years with multiple cars (purchased and service). But the service department really disappointed me. They put new brakes on my car last year, and then told me today I needed new breaks again one year later. They did not offer to cover the new brakes, not acknowledging that something must have been wrong to need new brakes after a year (car was not driven aggressively and I don't live on a hill). They just expected me to pay and tried to tell me this was normal. They did offer to try to get it under warranty, but said that if it was rejected, I'd have to pay full price. The guys there are very nice and responsive. They accidentally messed up my breaks at first but were VERY good about fixing them and gave me a credit that covered almost the rest of maintenance on my car for the next 2 years I was there. They left my car a little dirty after fixing my AC but it was pretty easy to get an appointment and I went to them for all my car issues. The inside waiting area was very nice. read more

Absolutely the worst dealership in Chittenden County. Zach Roberts, the smirking general sales manager, had the poor salesman ping-ponging back and forth between us for 4 HOURS. When a deal was finally reached, and I SIGNED THE CONTRACT, this little weasel actually tried to have ME pay for the detailing and service that was being performed on the vehicle that NOW BELONGED TO THEM. Very bad service! Brought my car down the night before so they had it first thing the next morning. They were told they had all day but I needed the car back by the end of the day(the part should have only took an hour at most to program) The 1st call came at 11am saying it was going to cost $250 to put in the part (that I bought) when i was quoted $125. After that was settled that I was paying what was quoted. The 2nd call came and they said they needed the old part brought to them with the spare key, brought that down at 2 and they said just an hour or 2. We got back to Ford service at 4:40 and the car had not been touched was just brought into the shop. At 5:30 I called to find out what was going on because I needed the car for work the next day and was told by the woman answering the phone they had already gone home for the day. They never called me saying they were keeping the car overnight. Not even a call!! Poor poor service read more

I have been a customer of heritage for many years and have purchased 5 new cars over a 10 year period. Initially the service was acceptable but over time has disappointingly been slow to almost destructive (there was a broken part inside of a wheel well that only could have been there from a previous service job they did) as well as blame us for damage that they did while a car was in there care. As for recently we brought in a vehicle that had warning lights on it and we had brought it initially to a small garage near our home and they told us and showed us the problem and said they couldn't fix it at there shop and should bring it to the dealer. We brought it to Heritage told them what the problem was. They told us they can have it fixed if we bring it back 11 days later. We bring the vehicle back 11 days later assuming it will be fixed either that day or by the following day. The following day Heritage calls us and says there waiting for a part to fix it (they never said that they were missing parts when we dropped it off) and they weren't sure when they would finish it. I would not purchase a car at Heritage just in the fact that there service is horrible and untrustworthy. DON'T BUY FROM HERITAGE AND DEFINITELY DON'T GET IT SERVICED THERE!!! read more

Went in for a factory recall/airbag...the second time. First time they said yes, come in, leave car, go away comeback four hours later. I did just that- four hours later "oh, we didn't have the part"...this time- brought it in and they DID do the job- and left everything from the glovebox all over the floor...."oh, we should have had you empty that" This IS customer service indeed- bad customer service- and they just don't care. read more

The Heritage Ford staff were very professional, courteous, and honest! Ariel and Abby were super friendly and a pleasure to work with. One of the mechanics also came to talk to me about the winter wheels/tires that I had on my Lexus and whether they would fit on the 2019 Ford Fusion Energi. They gave me a great deal on my trade-in and even took my winters wheels off for me AND brought them to my home! Every time I have gone to Heritage Ford to service my car I am shocked at how expensive it is, especially since the work has been getting shoddier and shoddier. Most recent experience: I set up an appointment a week in advance to bring my car in right when they opened for my 105,000 mile scheduled maintenance. When I hadn't heard from them at 3:30 I called and they hadn't even looked at my car. They hadn't given me any indication that there would be any need to keep it at any point and I needed it back that night. I asked what happened and they could offer no explanation except that they got busy. Logically, this made me ask why bother with an appointment then and they had no answer. I asked if they could at least do the oil and tire changeover and then had the audacity to charge me almost $90 for the work. My car has been driving funny ever since that tire change and I assumed it's because she's old, but I just had fresh tires put on today at Vermont Tire and suddenly all the jangliness and looseness is gone. So they didn't even do a very good job of changing my tires, it seems. Overpriced and poor work. I'll never go back. read more

Service is horrible! Have a 2016 pick up with only 2500 miles and bringing it in for second time. First time they replaced the transfer case. Now it's clunking again after less than 1000 miles. They don't know what to do so are asking Ford. They will not return phone calls or offer to work with me at all. 7/9/19 So here we are 2 weeks after drop the truck off. Can't get anyone on the phone. On hold indefinitely. Leave messages, no one calls back. We have no idea what they are doing or not doing to the truck. Here we sit in our busiest time of year. Down a truck. No idea what is going on. Rental Nissan Sentra that reeks of cigarettes that they had to get from hertz because they didn't set aside a replacement truck as promised. Now hertz is leaving messages about returning the stinking car that we can't even stand to be in and I get out on indefinite hold with them. Nice work Heritage. read more

We were in the market for a (newer model) used F-150 with low miles and this is one of the dealerships closest to us. We looked at the website and saw a few trucks that peaked our interest. We submitted a form via their website late in the evening and Rich got back to us the first thing the very next day. He wasn't able to get us set up with an appointment in time because we were planning to come in that same morning so he told he would have all our information in a folder with the truck we were interested in at the desk and we could just walk in and let any salesperson know we had talked to Rich and he put our information aside. We were very lucky to have been greeted by Charlie Moriarty. He worked so hard to try to get us the best deal possible and even though we didn't end up buy a vehicle from Heritage (none of the vehicles met our expectations), Charlie was by far the friendliest, most personable and most professional car salesman we've ever worked with. Then retaliated against by the Sales Director Ryan for leaving an honest review! He started off by insisting I was a liar and then continued to attempt to shame me in his email defending their poor service, when I have proof of the email traffic with the sales agent. I literally broke it down line item by line item! I purchased a 2017 F150 xlt from them, had nothing but issues with that truck. Was attempting to give them another shot, but after this.. I bought a used truck from Heritage Ford. They took care of 2 rust spots. When I finally was able to pick up my truck (that's another story) I noticed that there was rust near the front mud flap. It was rusted through. I took it to a local body shop and they were surprised it passed inspection. I then took it to a state inspection station and they said they would not pass it. After dealing with Mike in service, he said it does pass . They followed the letter of the law. Heritage prizes their bottom line over everything else. read more

I had an awful experience with Heritatge Ford buying a used 2017 Ford Explorer from them this past month. The sales department was unprofessional, the financing department offered a loan and rate that they pulled back on the day of pick-up, to then promise that same rate with a bank that they had applied for the loan with without my knowledge or consent. Three weeks after the purchase, I had not received my plates, registration nor any information or contact from the bank. I contacted the finance department to inquire, they informed me that my loan had been denied, and that they had reapplied with the intention of paying down the rate. No one even contacted me to communicate the loan had not gone through, nor ask permission around next steps. Celeste, the finance manager was rude and told me that this was my fault because "I had to have the rate," that rate which she offered me. I was upset about the loan and the temp plate/registration expiring in a week. She then informed me she had contacted Beacon who is a company that arranged for plates and registration, and had confirmed that the permanent plates would be sent to dealership because I am out of state and they'd have them for me to pick up, and if not they would find a way to help with extending temps. She then called me two days before temp plates expired to let me know they had my plates, and then later that day told me that she was wrong and that the plates had been delivered to my house in Brooklyn. The week prior she told me that they would work with me if plates didn't arrive in time to get extension on temp plates since I needed to leave on business and wouldn't be able to drive the car without registration. I was then informed that they could not help me, and that i would have to find someone to send the plates to my location. Again, she seemed to think I was being unreasonable to be upset and frustrated with the multiple exchanges of false or misleading info. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO BUY A CAR. read more

Don't make the same mistake I did. This place is terrible. Its the Wal Mart of car dealers. All they care about is selling cars any way they can. Service is way overpriced and substandard. They took MONTHS to repair my vehicle, and it was still not right when I got it back. I ended up selling the vehicle for a major loss to another dealer because Heritage would not stand behind their work. Learned my lesson the hard way. I now buy used and have it serviced at my reputable, friendly and local small repair shop. If you must buy a vehicle from them, do yourself a favor and have it serviced elsewhere. read more

I received friendly service. The service rep that I worked with was quick take care of my truck. I received an oil change and complimentary VSI since I bought the truck from Heritage. I was disappointing to hear that Heritage doesn't offer the oil change/tire rotation for $39.00 anymore. It was explained to me that this was a deal subsidized by Ford and offered only in 2017. I wish I knew there was a timeline on that promotion. I understood it and have told others that it's just what Heritage charges for the service. Not the case in 2018.. Great car, horrible late negotiation and after sale service. After everyone agreeing on $10,880 for my trade I was called two weeks later (by a person I had not dealt with yet) and was told they finally found my perfect car. He insisted we'd all agreed on $10,000 for my trade. On that first call I made him aware it was the $10,880. He said that's not what he had listed in the notes and he'd have to look into it. On the second call he explained that he had no record of that and we'd need to be at $10k. I explained that based on principle alone I would not accept below the $10,880 I was promised. At one point he said "Listen, at that amount we're losing over $2k on this deal!". Which is insulting, because companies don't chase you in order to lose $2k. But then he said "I can't believe you're willing to lose out on this car because you want an "extra" $880 for your trade. I let him know if he tried guilting me like that one more time he'd lose me as a customer. On the third call he agreed on the pre-discussed price of $10,880. My new car was delivered with scratches and scuffs in the interior on June 8th. At the time I thought "Oh, that'll probably be fine, I'll just ignore it." And the car is really great (a 2015 Fiesta ST), I love it. But it irritated me that my brand new car already had issues. On June 9th I contacted the salesman Andrew Melvin to let him know that there were some scratches and scuffs on the top of the steering column. He asked I stop by with it, which I did. He said he'd get back to me in a week with a solution. On June 28th (after two weeks of silence) I emailed him asking for a status and he said it'd still be another week or so. After FOUR more weeks of silence I re-emailed him asking for an update. He stated "We can try to get you the part at our cost but the expense will be on you. " I replied that it was insulting to be told I needed to pay to correct issues that came with the car. I said I needed it to get fixed ASAP or to tell me if they won't. That was over a week ago. The only email I've received is a "Personal thanks" for buying the car that was clearly system generated - and ill timed. No customer should have to persistently followup with a person or company over and over after being ignored only to be told that they'll have to pay to fix the issues that existed when the car was delivered. read more

My wife and I recently brought our Ford Focus to the Heritage Ford service center, and it was one of the most irritating situations I've ever been in. First it took them the greater part of 3 days to finally look at our car. In the meantime my wife had called to explain what the problem was, which she did very articulately and was basically told that she had no idea what she was talking about. I called back and explained what the problem was with the car and had no issues whatsoever, I also talked to the same person my wife had talked to and used the exact same explanation. So finally we get a call, and we have two options as to what we would like to do. I told them I would need to talk to my wife first and we would call them back. So my wife got home from work and we discussed the options and made a decision. My wife then called them and told them our decision and gave them the okay to start the work. This was on a Thursday night. I gave them a few days and then called them on Monday to see how the work was progressing, unfortunately no one answered my call and I left a message. I then called the day after and the day after that. Finally on Thursday I was able to get in touch with the guy we had originally talked to and I asked him how the work was going. He then said that they hadn't started the work because they were waiting on us to give them the okay to start. At this point our car had been there for 10 days. I explained as calmly as I could that we had already given them the okay and that I had left several messages concerning our car. He then gave me a less than sincere apology and said they would start the work immediately. There was no compensation given for all the time that our car had been there and at the end of the day they didn't even take responsibility for the error they had made. We finally got our car back on Wednsday the next week. After a few days we started having similar issues with the car and had to return it. When I called to let them know I was greeted by a woman who was incredibly rude to me and told me that it would be a few days before they could look at the car. She offered no apology when I explained what had happened and insisted that I would have to wait a few days. We then got a call saying there was nothing wrong with the car. I will never used their service ever again and will continue bringing our car to a local mechanic. I would also like to point out that there are three reviews of this company and the only one that was responded to was the positive review. Please don't make the same mistake we did, use a local mechanic. read more

First, I purchased my used truck a year ago from these guys. I was told the brakes were in good condition when I asked. I use a company truck, so with less than one years use my truck now needed all new front brakes. So the brakes they sold me were about to be complete garbage within a year yet they told me they were in good condition...yeah right. Furthermore they had my truck in the shop for over a week to fix some sensors. I show up at 3:30 one week later and I had to wait for them to get it in the shop to fix the sensors. They acted like they did me a favor by "pushing it along" to get it done. Have to tell them about the extended warranty or they will try to bill you for faulty switches and sensors. I've been going to Heritage Ford for about a year for service. I cant speak of their car sales. For service though I'm satisfied and dont plan on looking elsewhere. I'm a little surprised at the other reviews. Their customer lounge is adequate. Shuttle service is good. Customer service is good enough. I've never been BS'd about a repair I didnt need which I appreciate. They've been consistently honest. Their prices seem good as far as I'm concerned. I've tried elsewhere for tire swaps, oil changes, and alignments and so far have always paid less at Heritage. They seem affordable and honest which is all I ask. I have also been to the collision center and I recommend them as well. They out priced another local auto painting place and did a great job with a quick turnaround. I was very satisfied with the price. My only gripes would be that the customer lounge is forgettable. I've been to 2 other dealerships in the area and I'm sorry to say Heritage is at the bottom for where you'll be waiting. More importantly the hours suck. In my experience they only service vehicles during hours in which normal people are working. So unless I have a day during the week off, Heritage service loses my business by default. I wouldnt get a repair without getting at least a quote from them. read more

I bought my first car (certified used Ford Focus) on August 28th 2014. When I test drove the vehicle one of the tires had low air. Bill in sales assured me that if there were any future issues with the tire to bring it right in. Two weeks later on September 12th the tire again was low air pressure. I called in and spoke with Charlie who was very helpful and told me to drop the car off that evening. The following day I was called by Jim in the service department who stated that I was going to need a new tire and that it would cost approx $190.00. He called me at 1:32 P.M and informed me that the tire needed to be ordered by 2:00 to get in the following day. I did not get this message until after 2:00 as that I was working. I called him back and told him to speak to Bill in sales because it was a previous issue that would be covered by Heritage. I also said that if in some case it wouldn't be covered, that I had purchased the extended warranty on the tires and rims and that it would be covered under that. Bill cleared that issue up immediately. I called back the following day at 2:30 PM wondering if I was going to be without a car all weekend. I was transferred four times into a voicemail of Eric. I hung up called back and asked to speak to any living person. The man I spoke to looked up my information by name and told me my car had been ready. Customer service is everything for a business. Not communicating that a car is ready immediately is a negative practice especially when it left your customer without transportation for two days. Being willing and able to help someone on the phone instead of passing them off to a different department also says a lot about your employees. At the end when picked my car up there is grease from whomever fixed the tire. The grease is all over the cloth floor mat on the drivers side of a car I just purchased two weeks ago. I saw that immediately when I got into the drivers seat, and I was frustrated and tired that I just left. I was done for the day, and my first experience ever working with Heritage Ford service department was extremely negative. read more

I found everyone in the sales department to be very friendly and helpful. I needed to trade in my Mercury and went to look after work and drove out with a certified pre-owner Fussion at 9:00pm. They did not offer me my extra key that night, but they were extremely accommodating when I called for one. They set me up with an appointment that met my schedule and made a 2nd key, set up my Sirus radio, and blue tooth phone. I had forgotten to ask for the Carfax, but they gave it to me without asking. They did miss a recall I found when I read the Carfax. When I brought it to their attention they fixed it right there and than. I did notice a chip in the paint, they offered me a paint repair stick, so I need to stop to pick it up. It would be nice if they just provided everyone one when you a pre-owned car. So far I'm happy with my Fussion and I hope to get many miles before I trade again. read more

Dylan Krause is amazing. Super kind and calming no pushy car dealership "sales pitches". I was getting out of lease and wanted to get into another because my 1st experience with Ford Leasing was perfect. My former Sales Rep had moved on and Dylan stepped right up when I told him how I was sad to not have the same Sales Rep and immediately worked very hard to make this experience even better than my last. We spoke via phone and text often ensuring when my lease was ending and the best buy out we could get for my 2014 For Fusion I was leasing currently. Got the car I absolutely wanted and the price point in which we spoke about was spot on. Dylan was there on my signing/delivery day (it was his day off), to ensure it was a smooth transition. The experience was so good I signed onto the Ford Maintenance and Wear Care Plan, knowing I was given the best deal and price in that area also. The Finance team was easy to talk to , explained everything and also took the time and didn't rush into any thing I was not prepared for (Chad Tobin) was super. I have yet to speak with Mike Leclerc but I was told he would be following up with me in regards to my 2014 Fusion to ensure there are no problems with the car as far as damages and such for the turnover. read more

With servicing, communicating the status could have been better. We dropped off the car the night before and they initially could not find it in the lot so it was never worked on the first day we left it there and serve never called us to provide a status update -- we waited until we finally called them. They were very helpful arranging for us to get a rental car for the couple of days that they needed while waiting for parts. It seems that the mechanic did a good job fixing the car, which was most important, and the service department was pleasant and helpful when we were there. Again, my only minor complaint is that I would have appreciated better initial contact to let us know the status of the repairs after we dropped off the car. read more
