I was told yesterday that I had a nail embedded in my tire and since I am at least 150 miles away from home it was in need of attention. Being Sunday not many places open for tire repair , but VIP was open. Staff were friendly , knowledgeable and helpful. I asked if it needed to be fixed and he recommended it due to the fact of my lengthy driving on the tire and causing more damage causing me to pay a bigger fee to repair it. At the Riverside Ave location - Dropped the car off in the morning for a 10:30am appt. to have snow tires mounted. At 5pm it wasn't done yet. We waited another 45 minutes for it to get done. When we went to pay, we received an apology and we were told that it was on the house! In all of the times that we have gone to this location, this was the first mishap -it was a very busy day. Yesterday I took my car into the vip in Claremont and had four tires put on. The price was perfect and the manager even recommended the road hazard package at a reasonable price. These folks are liars. I needed one tire replaced. They told me they had to also replace the other tire on the same axle even though it was perfectly fine because "Vermont DMV inspection rules" didn't allow two tires of different brands to be on the same axle. That sounded weird. So I called the Vermont DMV Inspection line. The person there told me that this was absolutely incorrect. When I called VIP back, they first tried to double down and say that the tires had to be the same "type, construction, and size." I told them doesn't mean the same brand, as the DMV said. They put me on hold then agreed to do just the one tire once caught in a lie. When I came to pick up my car, I asked them if they didn't know the rules or if they were purposefully lying. One guy said that the DMV recently changed the rules (this isn't true, I called the DMV again and they told me as such). The other guy said it was "up to the technician" then tried to do that shitty thing where they throw a bunch of jargon at you to confuse you. Again, when I called the DMV they agreed they were lying and likely thought they could get away with it because I am a woman. It's actually just hilarious how much they lie and then change their lie and then double down. They should be ashamed; wasting customers money and wasting tires. read more

The team at VIP on Riverside Ave was incredibly helpful through a fairly complicated winter tire change over. We purchased a Tesla Model Y in the fall, which was supposed to come with a winter tire package. We received the vehicle in a timely manner, but due to supply chain issues, the tires never came - they are an unusual size, so it took us forever to find a set of tires and wheels we could use. We brought the aftermarket set to VIP to be mounted and balanced, at this time we discovered there was an issue with how Tesla's proprietary bluetooth TPMS fit into our setup. It being winter in Vermont, we couldn't drive our vehicle until we got the winters onto it. Greg and Bryce up front were really helpful in trying to come up with a solution to get our vehicle on the road. They did research, offered several suggestions and solutions, and continued to fit me into their busy schedule to try each new possible fix. Sean in the back was diligent and super careful with our wheels with each mount we had to try. While the whole situation was frustrating and I had to go back to the shop several times, I always felt welcome there, like we were all taking part in some ridiculous shared bad joke. VIP was definitely a huge part of the solution to my problem. Top notch customer service! read more

I had two tires to get rid of, and had a hard time finding somewhere to bring them because the CSWD hours are so inconsistent. I had never been to VIP Tire before, but I stopped in and asked if they did disposal. Tommy at VIP was so awesome! I had an appointment for a battery check. I had purchased this battery from VIP and it is no longer under warranty. I wanted to make sure it was okay, and see if I needed to get another battery. I dropped my car off at 0730 as instructed. I was told at 1:00, when I called them, that my car was next to be seen. I get off work at 1630, and I arrived there at VIP @ 1645 to pick up my car. They hadn't gotten it in yet. The person I talked to at that time stated that there were a lot of walk-ins and that my vehicle was low priority. I reminded him that I actually had a scheduled appointment. All they needed to do was check my battery, which wouldn't have taken that long at all. My original appointment was 10 days ago and they asked me to reschedule for 11/21/2023, which I did. A scheduled appointment should always override a walk-in. If they had told me up front, long ago, that they would be too busy to see my battery, then I would have understood and would have scheduled an appointment somewhere else. I'm extremely disappointed. Appointments mean nothing to them. He gave me a card for a free oil change, which I thanked him for, but still it doesn't excuse the fact that I didn't receive the service as promised. They had my car all day and wasted my time. I will never go there again. read more
