Cane was our bartender and had our wine to us in less than 2 minutes of asking. We waited about 20 min when a large party left and they were able to offer us a table, restricting us to an 1 and half. That was plenty of time. It was just me and my husband. We started with the arancini balls and they were great. The staff's vibe is so cool that they should offer Helly Hansen wear to ward off the frostbite. Reservations? Apparently on a Thursday off season are still are a must. The bar, the walk-ins' purgatory, is quite full. You are rather curtly directed there. When you are able to land a seat? You are greeted with pleasant diffidence, by the Asian bartender. Menus? You ask. He points to a cold COVIDesque QR code. There is nothing inviting about a menu on my phone. It's like dine in Uber Eats. We ordered drinks. I ordered a Tomcat Gin old fashioned because I know the gin and I've made them before. Good drink. The one with the strawberry hazelnut etc was just not good. It lacks contrast and depth. Too sweet. Too nutty. The bartender is working right in front of us. My daughter isn't drinking it. Does he ask if our drinks are okay? No. Drink dropped. Rang in. Next thing. I do get him to take our order. The one bit of semi-human contact. We ordered a broccoli rabe pizza. It's a small bar. I wanted hi to fix or replace my daughter's largely unconsumed cocktail. He was so adept at walling off the we, the uninteresting, that even I longed for the despised Ronald Reagan to call for him to "tear down that wall." The runner dropped our pizza. It came in reasonable time. The crust was excellent. The only highlight of the meal. The pizza itself was duller than a Brewers-Marlins game. An ocean of a slimy greasy cheese that was so bland it dragged the whole thing into the same monotony that the drink had. Very little rabe. Even less sausage. No real contrast, texture or flavor. Maybe lobotomic cuisine is the latest hipster trend? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ We ate. No check in from the bartender. I actually wanted another drink with dinner. That apparently was not to be, for my enjoyment, his tip, and the restaurant's bottom line. He got around to asking, as he was cleaning up vacated counter seats, if we wanted another drink in that tone that mecánicas servers get when they ask if you want dessert and you're the last table in the restaurant. I told him that I would have loved one earlier if he had asked when we got our food. No apology. I've seen tree sloths more emotional. He was delighted to slap-shake with one of the beautiful people regulars next to us, on their way out. Icing on this ice castle. There's a little bit of parking at the restaurant, and a paid public lot across the street, if disdain and distant service are your fetish. Not that anyone in this kind of setup cares. It was pretty annoying that a group of four who came in after us but walked to the front of everyone else who was waiting get seated first because they seemed to know some of the staff. Our waiter was awesome, great personality, and good recommendations on drink and food choices. We had the pinkity drinkity and Ginny 17 which were both on point, well-balanced drinks. I had to do the veal bolognese which was very comforting and filling while my husband had a hearty sausage and kale panini that I found to be a little too heavy for my taste. I would definitely like to try more from their menu as there were a lot of things that caught my eye but couldn't fit in for this visit. Our waiter Hernando, was awesome, as well as the rest of the Friendly, staff, and Chef/Owner ! We had a Sweet Pepper App, and Eggplant Parm, that were some of the Best I've ever had. I had been trying to get a reservation at Heritage for months, and somehow, by pure miracle, when a couple of girlfriends were visiting from out of town, we managed to snag a prime-time reservation on a Saturday night. After all the hype and difficulty getting in, I was very curious to see if it would actually live up to expectations--and honestly, it did. First, the cons. The restaurant is tiny. Like...teeny tiny. There's basically no standing room when waiting to be seated or picking up an order, so everyone kind of awkwardly crowds near the front door while servers and bartenders are constantly weaving around you looking mildly annoyed that you exist there. Eventually, people started gathering near the opposite end of the bar by the bathrooms because there was at least a little more breathing room. Once seated, the atmosphere is very lively, loud, and fast-paced. Not necessarily a bad thing, but definitely not the place for a quiet intimate dinner. Our server also may have been having an off night because there was a bit of attitude mixed in throughout the meal. That said... the FOOD. Unreal. Absolutely worth the wait and reservation struggle. Everything we ordered was exceptional. The sweet long pepper, Savage Garden salad, and Bolognese pasta were all incredible. Then came the pizzas--the fresh tomato pizza ("upside down pie") especially was ridiculously good. The squash blossom and cold pulled burrata pizza was also delicious. To finish--because we weren't stuffed enough--the strawberry olive oil cake. A literal perfect ending to the meal. Despite a rough start, the food completely stole the show. Easily an 11/10 meal. It took me forever to finally make it to Heritage. I was waiting on friends, reservations, the "right time"... and it just never happened. Until one random Sunday while running errands in Fort Lauderdale, I decided to take a chance and go solo. Best decision. I was able to grab a seat in the pizza section after a short wait (they quoted 35 minutes, but it moved quicker). Also parking is not an issue like some reviews say. There's a large lot across from Perkins Restaurant & Bakery. Service was impeccable from the start. I ordered The Spritz (prosecco-based and refreshing), which was the perfect way to begin. Even though the place was busy, I never felt rushed. The kale + finocchio salad was incredible with the fresh, nutty, creamy without being heavy, and perfectly balanced. Then came the gnocchi marsala... and wow. Soft, pillowy, rich, and honestly one of the best dishes I've had in a long time. I kept telling myself I'd save some, but I couldn't stop eating it. One of the highlights was watching the kitchen in action. The chef's presence, focus, and attention to detail really stood out. it felt like watching a performance. At the end of my meal, the chef came around to check on guests. I thanked him, and even though I said I was too full for dessert, I got one of home. I've been meaning to check this place out for ages, and it did not disappoint. I actually went to grade school with the head chef, Rino, so I already knew it was going to be good. This spot gets busy, so reservations are a must since seating is limited. The interior has a warm, inviting glow with cozy lighting, an industrial vibe, cool artwork, and a lively, fun atmosphere. The food was absolutely out of this world. We tried the meatballs, microgreen salad, and Oreo bread pudding. The meatballs melted in my mouth over a creamy bed of polenta. The microgreens had the perfect crunch with dried fruit, nuts, and a little something extra I couldn't quite place. And that Oreo bread pudding was simply stellar . We saw it during our staycation on Fort Laudy Bch and noticed it's a Michelin Star type restaurant, but with affordable prices. Made reservations and got in. Parking is a small free lot, but there is an extra flow lot for downtown hourly rates. We were seated immediately and everything was gorgeous inside. Very instagrammable space. It is dark and moody, and it works. The whole experience felt high end and trendy. Even the servers and bartenders were handsome. The menu was delicious. Foodie twists on every dish, and house-grown microgreens placed strategically on our plates with each dish. We are foodies so this all was a perfect experience. 10 out of 10, highly recommend. Met up with the girls to have lunch before our scheduled facials next door and we were in for a treat! Heritage is located in a little shopping area that offers free but limited parking. There is street parking and a lot located across the street. I recommend making a reservation since it's a small space. Staff is very friendly and patient! They checked on us several times and always replenished our waters. We ordered a mushroom pizza and kale salad to share. Both were phenomenal but I'm still thinking about the kale salad, weeks after! We also ordered the chicken Parmesan sandwich after seeing another table ordered it and it was super filling! I couldn't even finish my half of the sandwich! Came by for lunch; the worst thing about our 6-person lunch was that we were stuffed along a counter on the inner wall surrounding the space where the Heritage team was preparing pizza. Getting past that? The food was great. We did a couple pizzas, a massive salad, a chicken panini (also massive) and two desserts: the tiramisu brownie and the bourbon butterscotch budino. For drinks we started with espresso martinis, which were uniquely salty & nutty but very enjoyable. For food, we went with the baked razor clams, the soppresata pizza and the mafaldine bolognese. All our dishes were truly fantastic. The baked razor clams were 10/10 no notes. All of their pastas are homemade & taste so fresh. Our mafaldine was cooked perfectly al dente. The soppresata pizza was chefs kiss. We even had some left over pizza to take home. For my second drink I did the "Pinkity drinkity" which is a must try if you like mezcal. We were served by an older gentleman who seemed annoyed from the moment we arrived. He was unfriendly, dismissive, and acted as though we were inconveniencing him the entire evening. As soon as you walk in, someone is there greeting you to check you in if you have a reservation ( we booked through resy). Heritage has been high on my list of places to go for some time now but it skyrocketed after the recent Bib Gourmand award. The hardest part was getting a reservation at non-awkward time of day, which having now visited I totally understand. Tucked away in a quiet plaza, the vibe inside Heritage is anything but. The atmosphere and vibes are at an all-time inside Heritage where you're overtaken by the aroma of pizza and entranced by the chefs flipping the dough in full display. I came in a group of three so we shared everything. We started off with the squash blossoms and the arancini. Both were good but did not blow me away. However, the Italian chopped salad was the star of the first portion of the night. Such a hearty and tasty salad. For the main dishes we got the allá vodka pizza and the bolognese. The meat and flavor of the bolognese was absolutely incredible. You could also tell that the pasta was fresh and likely homemade. The pizza is currently living in my head rent-free. It was so freaking good and the crust had the PERFECT flavor and crunch. I'm gonna need to go back and try every other flavor they had because wow. I don't usually order pizza at Italian restaurants but I highly recommend doing so here. Lastly, for dessert, we got the butterscotch budino and the olive oil cake. The budino was alright but the olive oil cake was decadent and the most unique cake I've had. All in all, I highly recommend seeing what the buzz is about at Heritage. The carbonara type pasta was very herby, complex, fresh. Al dente noodle. Very filling and pretty. I liked my spicy rigatoni as well. Yummy bits of pancetta with a creamy actually pretty spicy swirl. Also complex herby flavor. Service was kind of slow. When I called out to him to take our order (rude, I know) he was visibly annoyed. But we were just kind of sitting there to the point where we wondered if he'd ever come on his own. Dessert was fine. Pretty good.
