My friend in Lauderdale was eager to show me his favorite nearby Italian spot. Luigi's is in the heart of Las Olas with a cozy and intimate indoor atmosphere. We sat at the bar and started out with some red wine. The bar had a social group and a bartender that made us at home. I went with one of their specials -- seafood pasta diavolo. It was a delicious symphony of clams, muscles, calamari, fish and shrimp in a mouth watering sauce atop a bed of black pasta. We had a fun time wandering afterwards and checking out the nearby shops. Great experience with an artful vibe.

The BEST sea bass I've ever had! Amazing service. Very clean restaurant. INCREDIBLE tiramisu. DEFINITELY the best Italian we've had in FL. We will be back very soon!

Wow amazing food on Las Olas! We called ahead for a table of eight and they had everything ready when we arrived. Our waiter was knowledgeable, friendly, and didn't miss a beat. The food was authentic Italian, absolutely delicious, and the bread was incredible. The atmosphere was perfect, with the open-front layout adding a great vibe. Highly recommend we'll definitely be back

This was by far one of the best experiences I have had in the las olas area I don't know why I haven't come sooner! The host was amazing and the service was fantastic I am so happy I have finally had the opportunity to enjoy and experience this gem. The food is fresh and delicious and I love how they make you feel like family. Each person who came in and left was greeted and always told to come back the hospitality was just as amazing as the food the pear ravioli was delicious I loved it!!! The veal was delicious as well as the tiramisu this is a great place for a family dinner or a gathering with friends I will say definitely make a reservation cause they get packed especially on weekends. I can't wait to come back!

Place was awesome and the manager was a 5 star experience. Made sure we enjoyed our meal and treated us with a complimentary home made limoncello. The food and the ambiance was outstanding. Will def be going back

Second time here and the food did not disappoint. The only thing I would change is the portion size. That would've made it five stars. Attentive waiter? Check. Fast service? Check. Fresh and delicious food? Check and check! If you want a delicious meal on Las Olas then Luigi's will not disappoint, trust me!

AMAZING. Everything was absolutely on point from start to finish. The wine selection? Insane. The Caesar salad was hands down my favorite ever -- perfectly dressed, fresh, and so flavorful. The garlic bread tasted homemade and was beyond delicious. And the pasta... the zuppa di pesce was out of this world. The service was immaculate -- attentive, warm, and flawless all night. This is officially my new favorite restaurant. Can't wait to go back!

Hopped in here for an early dinner. Place was clean but dated, it's a FTL staple that's been there for many years. They have a happy hour menu (bar seating only) which I've included a pic. We shared a half house salad and a baked ziti. Both were delicious. The half salad was enough for 2 but the ziti was a bit small. It was delicious though. Also I can't forget the bread they provide, it's crispy outside and soft in the middle. Tastes fresh baked and is bomb. Will return...

We come to Fort Lauderdale annually and love to try new foods spots when we visit but this place will NEVER leave our rotation. It is always where we come our first night and is truly the best start to our vacation. Not only is the food to die for; homemade, authentic, and packed with flavor - but the staff is bar none. They are so kind and accommodating! The owner, Gabriel, is the sweetest man who remembered our faces from LAST YEAR and our server Giovani was so kind, helpful and patient. We were able to slowly enjoy our meal, good company, some drinks and never for one moment felt rushed. If that's not enough to convince you to go here, let's talk about the food. First, the complimentary bread is PERFECTION. It comes out hot. Crispy and crunchy on the outside but so soft and warm on the inside. It is covered in fresh parm and sitting in a delicious spiced olive oil, that I would bathe in. For apps, we split the meatballs and calamari. Both were fabulous! The calamari were big, juicy and not overly breaded or fried and the meatballs were just perfection. I got the grilled octopus salad for my entree, which I got last year and have been dreaming of since. The octopus is so juicy and fresh and grilled PERFECTLY. All of their pasta dishes are 10/10. You cannot go wrong. Sauce. Pasta. Meats. All fresh. All homemade. For desert we split the fried cheesecake that comes with pistachio gelato. It sounds heavy, but it wasn't. Highly recommend trying! Very unique and yummy. Basically, if you're in FLL - GO HERE!

    Drinks always following.

The ambiance of the place is lovely, decorated with string lighting that looks so gorgeous at night. The patio area is much bigger than I anticipated and even has some larger tables for any larger parties. We started off with an appetizer of the peach burrata, which was tasty! I would give it 4/5. We then got wine flights which I thought were such a great value for the price. You get 3 small sized wine glasses for $15 and get to sample three wines! Definitely recommend this 5/5. As entrees, we shared two entrees - the pesto pasta and the gnocchi which at the time was made with a pork type of sauce. Both were very delicious and we really enjoyed the flavors of both. The consistency of the gnocchi's sauce was a bit interesting, as it was all sort of blended together, but the flavor was very good! Would give them each 4/5. We ended the night with tiramisu - delicious and the presentation was very cute. I haven't had very much tiramisu to compare against, but I'll give it 5/5 as I really enjoyed it! As for service, our waitress was very attentive and nice but note that they can get busy on weekend evenings, so expect a little bit of a wait. Overall, I had a great time and enjoyed the food. My favorite part of the night were the ambiance and the wine flights. I hope to come back again soon!

Sidecar Speakeasy was the play... The speakeasy entrance was hidden in a hallway you can walk right by without even noticing. I dig it. Once inside, it's dark. Most of the light is coming from the light showcasing the bottles in the bar. The seating is a little tight as they're trying to maximize space for such a small area. We visited here twice during my visit: We sat at a table and a bar. You have the perfect amount of space for your party, but you're pretty close to the next table or bar seat. No claustrophobic vibes though. All the mixologists were great during both visits. One visit, we ordered their signature cocktails from the menu. When we sat at the bar, we had the mixologist surprise with a cocktail off the menu. He just asked what kind of liquor vibe we wanted, and he took it from there. He was super creative with every cocktail which made for a great time. They stayed upon until midnight one one visit and until 1 am on the other one. Both my visits were on a weekday. The sidecar speakeasy is easily my favorite bar in Fort Lauderdale and I have a feeling I'll be back. Enjoy!

I finally got the chance to check them out one afternoon when I was in the area. Brewlihan Mead is a 1,700-square-foot mead house and tasting room owned by John and Stacey Hoolihan. John had a background in science education and started out brewing as a hobby. What turned into a passion became a business. Brewlihan Mead is the first commercial meadery in Broward and Palm Beach counties. Mead, sometimes called honey wine is an alcoholic beverage made from three ingredients: fermented honey, water and yeast. It is the first alcoholic beverage consumed by mankind and is believed to predate wine by nearly three thousand years. Since the taste of honey can vary by region, mead can have a diverse and complex flavor profile. To make the mead at Brewlihan, the water, yeast and honey is placed in fermentation tanks with fruit and then aged in oak barrels for 2 to 5 months. You can take your mead to go in cans or they have a nice bar inside the tap room where you can enjoy your drink. I took my mead home and while I enjoyed all of it, my favorite was Winter in So Fla which truly evoked the tropical feel of a winter in Florida. Mead is a great alone or as a pairing to a meal. If you are a mead enthusiast they have memberships for $300 with a host of benefits listed on their website. Whether a casual or refined drinker of mead, you are sure to find something unique and delicious here. John and Stacy are so warm and friendly and this is the kind of science I really enjoy.
