Mushroom ravioli with a truffle cream

Wet popular spot near the beach. The owners are super friendly. The service is fast and friendly. The homemade pastas are delicious. Really enjoyed the mushroom ravioli with truffle! Had some nice wine there as well.

Another visit to my favorite Italian spot in Fort Lauderdale, La Dolce Vita. The two owners are Fabio (from Abruzzo) and Christian (from Rome). Great food and quite authentic. Had a great wine from Abruzzo, Marramiero. A delicious medium bodied red. I ate the Pollo Alla Romana. It was fantastic. The tomato sauce is chunky with bits of tomato, roasted red pepper, carrots, celery and onion. Quite a delicious tomato sauce. The skinless chicken breasts were seared nicely and were cooked in the sauce for hours. The side potatoes were roasted in olive oil and accompanied the entree nicely. The meat was tender and moist. My new favorite dish here!

    Cheers

Everytime we are in the area this is our NUMBER 1 restaurant to dine at. We dine here at-least twice every visit (two-three times a year) -- besides the beautiful Italian ambience inside and out the service is on point. Friendly, knowledgeable and always the same staff (we enjoy seeing the same people everytime we dine here) menu is a decent size, everything is made in house / it is all unbelievably delicious. Wine and beer only (which is fine since I'm a wine lover !) owners are from Italy - please please add this place to your must visit list when you are in Fort Lauderdale.. you will NOT be disappointed. I promise !

    Great wine.

Came here for my mom's birthday. Glad we did, she had a blast. Host/owner is wonderful, provided us with brief history the restaurant, love for food and country. Food is flavorful, wine we selected was perfect. Great place to visit! Make sure to make reservations in advance. Parking can be tricky, plan accordingly. We arrived early, theres no waiting area so we went next door for drinks while we waited for our table to get ready.

What a cute restaurant tucked away in this unassuming strip mall! We stopped in late on a recent Saturday and they were quick to find out party of 4 a nice table outside which was great as it was freezing inside the restaurant! We started with one of the specials of the day which was the caprese salad- a lovely mound of buffalo mozzarella surround by fresh tomatoes. Delicious! For my entree, I went with the spaghetti carbonara, and my friend had the pork chop both of which were also very good. Another in our group had the pasta special of the day although I can't remember what it was Service was also quite good especially our server had to keep running in and out for all the requests that my party was asking of her. We never felt rushed even though we knew they had to be closing soon. And the wine kept flowing like it was much earlier in the day. A good evening out all the way around!

Wonderful environment. I came with my family and grandparents, and the people who worked there were lovely and friendly - we had conversations about where my family was from in Italy, about dogs and vacations. The food was delicious - everything was flavorful and presented beautifully, we even spoke about the ossobuco (photo below) on the ride home.

Our reservation was for 9:30 and we seated with drinks and appetizer ordered by 9:35pm. For an appetizer we ordered the original Bronx pizza, I heard the pizza was amazing so figured order for an appetizer so I could also enjoy a meal. The pizza was delicious. I forgot to get a picture of it. We then ordered the gnocchi Marsala, pasta with Bolognese, my son who has been to Heritage before got his favorite the spicy penne alla vodka. We made sure to save room for dessert we got Cake me home tonight (carrot cake) it was served warm with vanilla ice cream. This carrot cake was on a different level than any other carrot cake I have tried. We also got the tiramisu brownie- a combination that will make your taste buds dance. It is a small restaurant but we did not feel crowded at all as others have mentioned in reviews. The waiters and bartenders were all amazing and seem to keep this place running like clockwork. The dim, cozy atmosphere stood out and our server, Shamar truly made our experience super special. He was so kind, attentive and patient. The owner also stopped by and introduced himself, which was a nice touch to our night. We ordered the Italian chopped salad, Mediterranean squash blossom pizza, and gnocchi marsala. Italian food isn't usually my go to, but everything was delicious! Of course we saved the best for last and ended the night with the Cake Me Home Tonight, which is their carrot cake, and it really hit the spot! I highly recommend this spot! Just a side note, parking is limited and it's a small restaurant, so definitely make a reservation.

As I walked up to the door I started having second thoughts. The dining room was set up for fine dining, but there was one other table. The host greeted us warmly and we were seated promptly. Sergio removed the extra place settings, a sign of a good restaurant. He offered us either still or sparkling water as we received our menus. The price points were very affordable. You could easily find these meals for twice the price elsewhere. We started with the mini meatballs. Scrumptious! You must try them. The bread, oil and herbs presentation was impressive and tasted great. I ordered the Penne Bolognese and my guest ordered the crab ravioli. The Bolognese tasted like it took all day to cook. So good, and piping hot. The pasta was perfectly al dente. Sergio brought us a complimentary vegetable soup to sample, and the we were offered dessert. I chose the Lemon cake, and my guest tried the cheesecake. Both exceptional. Then were given a complimentary amaretto shot after dessert. Sergio was the best server I could remember I. A long time. This restaurant should be full every night, folks. I hope that you'll check it out!

Our actual server, however, came across as a bit short and impatient. Live music was a nice touch. My mom loved it. The main complaint from several people in our party of 10 was that the entrée portions were small. I'm not sure if that had anything to do with the size of our party, but it was disappointing. The food itself was good, but I left still feeling hungry.

During my most recent visit, I ordered the lamb lasagna special at my server's recommendation. The dish simply wasn't to my taste, so I chose not to eat it. I never complained, never asked to speak with a manager, never requested that the item be removed from my bill, and never asked for any compensation. I fully intended to pay for my meal and continue enjoying the evening. The situation only became an issue because the staff repeatedly asked why I hadn't eaten the dish. I answered honestly and respectfully each time. When asked whether I wanted the meal boxed to take home, I clearly said no. Despite that, the dish was boxed and brought back to my table anyway. What should have been a simple matter of personal preference became an uncomfortable experience. Ignoring a guest's clearly expressed wishes made me feel dismissed and embarrassed in front of the friend who was dining with me. The problem was never the fact that I didn't enjoy one menu item--it was how the situation was handled afterward. After my visit, I sent a respectful letter to the manager and both owners explaining exactly what happened. I wasn't seeking compensation--only the courtesy of a response and the hope that the experience could serve as constructive feedback. More than a month has passed, and I have received no acknowledgment whatsoever. Restaurants occasionally miss the mark on a dish. What distinguishes great hospitality is how guests are treated when that happens. Unfortunately, the handling of this situation, followed by complete silence after my letter, has left me unable to recommend this restaurant or return myself.
