I was interested in looking at trucks and was working with a young gentleman named Isaiah who approached me and was figuring out what I was looking for in a truck. Then the next day I get a call from a completely different person, Sean, who had decided he was going to take over the sale. Anyways, I had found a truck I was highly interested in. We test drove it together twice. I found a few little things wrong with the truck and had told Sean, but still made it known I wanted to continue on with this truck. After test driving it the second time he told me it was being put on hold for me while we got the finance aspect taken care of. I didn't receive any calls or messages after that day and the truck was sold out from under me without even having the decency to reach out to me. Only knew from when I saw the truck driving around weeks later. My in-laws went through a similar situation with him. On 3/31/2025 we brought our 2022 Ford Econoline to Heritage Valley Ford (HVF) in Putnam CT for an oil change, a multipoint inspection and a recall 22s76 fuel tank paint inspection. Hannah and Hailey in the front office were very nice and kept us informed about our vehicle. They even called to let us know that the service team had broke the fuel tank vent and were waiting for the new part. We greatly appreciated the honesty and were happy that we had found a reputable Ford dealership. So we thought. On 4/11/2025 we went to the dealership to pick up our vehicle. Hannah and Hailey both told us how much they liked our RV. How nice it was inside. Why were they in our vehicle? When we got home we noticed that the awning was bent. It no longer sits in the brace, it impedes our view when we are driving and is extremely slow to move out and back in. Not to mention $1,500.00 to replace. We called the dealership and spoke to Hailey or Hannah and asked if there was ANY diagnostic reason why anyone would be IN our RV and retracting the awning. Hailey or Hannah told us that she would talk to the service team and that "the security cameras would show what happened, and we would get a call back on 4/14/2025." Monday afternoon we had not heard from anyone at HVF so we called. We spoke to Mark or Kyle who said "I am going upstairs right now to look over the surveillance videos with the owner and we will call you back." By the afternoon of 4/16/2025 we still had not heard from anyone so we called again. We spoke to Kyle or Mark who said "our surveillance cameras were not working when we had your RV here therefore you have no way of proving that we did anything to your vehicle. Have your lawyers call our lawyers". I (Renee) am a US Army veteran and a responsible, respectable member of society. My husband and I own and operate a successful business here in CT and if we treated our customer/clients the way Heritage Valley Ford did, we would not be in business. read more

I've got to say that shopping for a car is one of my least favorite things to do. However, between Matt, Danny and especially Dave over at Putnam Ford they made it easy and actually somewhat fun. No stress, no long waits, no run around. Even being a little credit challenged I was able to purchase the vehicle I wanted at a fair price without the needless back and forth. Whenever my next vehicle purchase is Putnam Ford it will be the first place that I go! Edit! Okay, so maybe it won't be the first place I go. The service department??? I have had a few issues with the vehicle since purchase. Now I have had to drive back and forth to the dealership 4 times. Seatbelt stuck, outlets not working two visits and this last time was due to failing MA inspection for the hazard lights not working. Back and forth, back and forth. I asked service department about a vibration when on the highway, they say the tires need to be balanced but I will need to pay for it. I know it's a used car but I got it 2 weeks ago. You can't cover a tire balancing? Long story short, sales good. Service not so much. read more

Service place programed my TCM, told me it was programed. Then after telling me 2700 worth of transmission repair needed to be done, turned around and said the TCM was actually the problem. Bunch of snake oil salesmen over there. Should of known better then go to a dealership for anything. read more

I had the unfortunate experience of my 5 year old vomiting in my car this week and was unable to get it cleaned up and the smell out. Putnam Ford was able to get me in really quickly for a car detail. I am VERY happy to report that the smell is gone and my car looks brand new. Emerson did a great job cleaning the entire car and found some long lost toys so he must've cleaned real deep! The staff at the service desk at check in and out were very fast and friendly. Highly recommend this dealership! We were greeted right away and the dealership was clean. Our salesman (Tim) was very laid back, friendly, and helpful. He answered my questions and didn't apply any pressure at all. I've been shopping for a new vehicle for over a month and have interacted with close to 7 dealerships in person. We purchased a used Mini Cooper over a year ago. Purchase was simple and easy. The finance guy is amazing!! Opted for the ExtraCare warranty because it's used. Brought it in for service and got nothing but attitude. Warranty is supposed to cover rental but at first they refused to give us one. The reverse lights didn't work but it passed the used car point to point inspection! They sent it to Warwick and it turns out they were unplugged! Yesterday I scheduled a service appointment at 10am for 8:30 this morning. Explained everything in the request. Received confirmation, good to go right? No! Have someone follow me to drop off the car (whilst going in late for work) to attitude again at the service desk. Claiming I didn't put any info in the ticket. So I explain while she writes it down. She talks to the "manager" comes back and says they can't service it and they are short staffed. Why couldn't they call me ahead of time? They even said they saw the request???!! I couldn't even react because if I had yelled and screamed at them I still don't want them touching my car. So I just grabbed my key and walked away completely disappointed.. So now I have a warranty that requires me to drive an hour one way to have my car serviced.. you're probably fine if you buy a new ford but I'd stay away from the used. Their lack of communication in the service department is ridiculous. Zero stars from me. read more

Scheduled an oil change and service. the gentleman I talk to in service told me because they are coming to get the car at the house, I take care of my father was sick so I asked if they could do that because we live close to them, he had to book the appointment out a week which at that time was fine. the morning of the appointment May 11th Krissy from service dept calls me and tells me they can't come and get it after I made arrangements to make sure I got to my father's early enough that day. She told me she would call me back the next day and they will do it. Guess what, it's been a week and I'm still waiting for that call back the next day to get this done. She should learn customer service skills and manners Was going to get new tires also. Krissy in the service department should not be dealing with customers. When I trade in my car later this summer I am definitely going elsewhere. Horrible customer service, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more

Please read before going to this car dealership!!! In September 2018 I purchased a 2015 Ford Explorer we were promised new tires, paint repair and broken glove box to be fixed. I have text messages from salesman stating these were going to be done. I had tires put on two months ago I was told there was no written proof that these were part of the sale so I showed them the messages the salesman sent me about them so they put them on the car that day and I was told that a note will be added to file about messages so I wouldn't have to go through this again when getting glovebox repair and paint fixed. I called last week for appointment they saw note and scheduled me to have work done and after dropping it off I got a call stating the dealership refuses to pay for them. I spoke with salesman as well as the store manager who told me that the tires were done as a "good gesture" since it was a safety issue and that they never would have agreed to do the other repairs. So apparently they would have never agreed to fix a glove box that was broken on a $26,000 vehicle? This makes no sense. He stated the messages that I have from salesman do not hold any value because they are not in writing. How on earth is a consumer supposed to know that direct messages to a salesman are not valid? That there is a certain written form he needed to fill out and again how would I have know if he did or did not do his job and fill out this form? I told him that I should not be punished for his employees not writing up the correct forms because I had no idea they needed to be put on a special forms. He stated that he is following all CT DMV rules that he does not have to fix the other items because they are not safety related. I then went on to state that if you made an exception and put on tires for a good gesture and were not doing the other promised items why did they not tell me the day that I got new tires on and sat in the waiting room at dealership with a two year old for three hours for a simple tire change, or last week when I called and staff said they saw note about the paint and glove box repair and was all set and scheduled me. He then continued to tell me he does not believe his staff said this yet that's what my appointment was scheduled for? Don't you think something would have been said to me that day when I was there that he was only doing the tires as a good gesture? Nope nothing so apparently I'm supposed to know whether or not salesman do their jobs and fill out paperwork and I'm supposed to also be a mind reader. He also did not let his staff know this either because while I sat there the nice woman at reception kept apologizing for it taking so long to have tires put on and that a note will be added so I didn't have to go through this nightmare again when I came back.To top it all off they told me when I scheduled it I needed to leave car over night for paint and I said that's fine I will need a rental and she said no problem that she will put it on there that I will be getting one for $30 a day and when I got there they told me all they had was a Ford Focus I stated to them I have three kids in car seats and they told me there was nothing they could do so apparently safety is not a concern for this dealership they supposedly made exception and put tires on my car as good gesture for safety but had no problem giving a mother of three young children a car that would not fit their car seats where's the safety there? So all in all I have text messages from salesman at facility stating that these issues would be fixed and they will still not do the repairs because they are not "in writing " only text messages and the manager at the store was beyond disrespectful. Take my advice and horrible experience into consideration before ever stepping foot into this dealership!!! read more

Talked for a bit, he told me he has been working there for 14 years and doesn't like to negotiate, he just wants you to pay his price and thank him. This was by far the easiest and best experience at a dealership I've ever had or been a part of. I had a terrible time at another and came here after a recommendation from my boss. I called to schedule a test drive on a specific vehicle and went in late that night. I drove the car home two days later. They did everything possible to make me feel comfortable and make sure the car was in pristine condition for me to take home. The paperwork was easy to understand and everyone there is so nice and funny and personable. I will definitely recommend anyone I know to go there for their next car. As a woman, I didn't feel the pressure I have felt with other dealerships and I must say, it was quick, relaxed, and we will definitely buy again from this dealer. Cannot say enough good things about these people. Specifically, Brian (Sales) and Tim (Finance). Ask for them first!! I am a full-time salaried employee who works a typical 9-5 job. Most dealerships close at 5 on weekdays, so what am I supposed to do? Brian and Tim offered to stay late to meet me on a Monday night--they ended up meeting with me and test driving the car with me for an entire hour after they were scheduled to close for the day. They were completely straight-shooters. Couldn't ask for a more direct negotiation. They took the time to listen to my story and understand my situation (I was unfortunately underwater with my current car and had $3000 of Negative Equity), but they didn't try to take advantage of me. Right up front, they offered me $3000 more for my trade than anybody else did--They basically did all my negotiating for me! In addition, they had priced their car perfectly. They are not a greedy dealership, they truly care about putting their customers in the best cars at the right price. When the Bank was being extremely difficult, Tim fought hard for me to get me a great rate and a great term on a new loan (and my credit is only above average, so I didn't expect him to be able to get me the deal that he did). All in all, I am extremely happy with my experience at Putnam Ford. I will absolutely be looking back to them FIRST when I need my next car. 5-Stars, well-deserved. Congratulations to them. I purchased my F150 brand new from here and I will never make this mistake again. What a bunch of shady people. I used a discount on the vehicle that I get through my company. The day I took the truck they convenienty forgot to take my down payment. They called a few days later looking for it. I ran down and gave them my credit card to put the down payment on. They then charged me an additional $150 for the down payment to "cover the credit card fee" saying that I got "too good of a price on the truck so they couldn't afford to eat the cost" This is against the law. I would stay FAR FAR away from this place. read more

I started of with the sales department. I was buying my first car that I needed to take a loan out for. Danny the sales manager was awesome. He wasn't pushy and was very accommodating. The credit guy, David, was also very helpful and got me a good rate. Then I had to deal with the service department.....WORST EVER. The first two months I had my car, I had to bring it in about 3 times. The one time they had my car for over a week and never really called me to update me on when my car would be back I had to call them every time. They told me that they had fixed a leak but then I went to RI for the day and my car leaked all the coolant out and I was left there with an overheated car...NOT HAPPY. I went to drop it off another time before work and a rental was supposed to be there for me....it wasn't so they were like well you can reschedule. Its an hour drive there and back so I was fuming. I ended up dealing with a woman I think her name was linda or something of that nature but she was great she at least tried to help me and had me wait for the rental manager to show up and she took care of it. The service manager was just like well sorry I don't know what to tell you come back another day...are you kidding?? A few other things happened but its too much to type. SO then I did a survey they sent me about their service and I got a call asking how they could fix the issues. I said I want the car to be looked over like it should have been in the first place. They were supposed to call me back and NEVER DID! I will never deal with Putnam Ford again and its a shame because it's all their servicing departments fault. My husband always has a great experience with the Putnam Ford Service Department. It's the only place he trusts to service his Mustang. They are always friendly and pleasant to deal with. He dropped it off today for some regular maintenance and when they realized they didn't have a part, they ran out to another dealership to get it instead of making us wait for days or just go without replacing that particular part.
