They wouldn't allow my husband to sit with me in the waiting room because it was so packed. It took 5 hours after I was admitted to even get a room. My visit here was to learn more about their physical therapy program because they specifically deal with oncology patients. Since this is part of Allegheny health network, mask protocols are in place and photography is prohibited. For a number of weeks I've been dealing with increased cold sensitivity in my fingers making it nearly impossible to do my everyday chores. The waiting room is extremely small and is located on the third floor of the building. I had a consultation with a Dr. Andrew, He talked about the causes of peripheral neuropathy and started off with electrical stimulation for my finger tips. He then gave me a few easy exercises to try on my own at home and gave me a printout of those exercises. Finally he recommended I try this arthritis cream called capsaicin to help my fingers. I was very pleased with my visit and am looking forward to working with him in the future. Note there is bad internet reception as I have found with all my visits to any of the Allegheny Health network locations and their WiFi is terrible. You are lucky if you can get a phone call or text message out. Parking is plentiful since there aren't a whole lot of medical offices here but still it does offer some features that would make it worthwhile to come here. The only other problem is the ongoing construction on the McKees Rocks bridge which adds to the drive time depending upon where you are coming from. Located in lower Bellevue a few streets down from their business district.

I walked in (no appointment needed) and signed in on the sign-up sheet. A woman that worked there told me to "just sit down and they'll call you". I started to sit and before I got onto the chair they called me in. It was maybe 3 minutes from top to bottom! The person drawing the blood (wish I remembered her name...) literally had a needle in my vein immediately and got the blood she needed. The whole visit took about 10 minutes max! I can't say enough about how efficient it all was. Granted, they could be much busier at other times and it might take longer but I was impressed. A+

What the heck no specialty doctors why even call yourself a hospital???????. The doctors said they where going to transfer him to Wexford Hospital. I do not get it they do thousands and thousands of dollars in tests only to say they can't do anything to help. Then to boot some one is paying for an ambulance to transfer him to the other hospital. If I was you I would avoid this so called hospital like the plague. I will be sure to never go here again. This is not a hospital so do not be fooled into thinking it is. If you have basic problems I am sure they can help, But anything remotely serous there is no way for them to help you. I must say again please do not go here unless you have no serious problems. With that said It was our fault for going here. I would normally give one star but the nurses and even the doctors where very nice even if they could not help. I did not have a choice on the hospital I went to, UPMC was the only place open and I was hardly even conscious when I arrived. For the love of god, if you have any choice on where you get your treatment, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. All Hospitals are expensive, but usually they are willing to actually work with you on the things they charge you for. UPMC has told me on no less than 4 occasions now that they will absolutely not work with me on my bill. I asked for explanations on things like the 10,000% mark-up on the same nausea medicine I get over the counter for $10, and every single time I'm told "Oh that's what it costs, this is a teaching hospital!". They don't even try to explain duplicate charges. I have been forced to take a ridiculous amount of time off of work to jump through their hoops only to get absolutely no where with them. Bonus points: Apparently the emails they have listed all over their website are not actually in use. They say they'll send you information in the mail, important things like the financial aid application you requested, and then they just won't. But they are real quick to threaten you with collections!

I was transferred to the 8th floor for two days where the nurses and the doctors exceptional patient care and were so nurturing understanding and empathetic to everyone of my needs. I was transferred to the cardiac floor the nurses and doctors on the cardiac floor went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable stress-free and well taken care of. Floor 8 Christine and Richard were so incredible with bedside Manner and taking care of any questions or concerns that I had. On the cardiac floor natalie and Riley are the definition of an exceptional spectacular knowledgeable nursing team. They went above and beyond the scope of Nursing. They were such great listeners they had such great knowledge their personalities were incredible and they made sure every need of mine was taken care of with such a sense of urgency in such a sense of caring that I would recommend uPMC to anybody with any health issues. When I arrived at the imaging department in the Dunlap building I was told that someone in the scheduling department canceled my appointment. It took the person a couple minutes to determine that the supposed reason for cancellation was that no referral letter was received from my health insurer. Meanwhile, the referral letter was approved 5 August, BEFORE I even called to schedule the appointment (I have a copy of the referral letter in front of me). AND, no one called, emailed, or texted me to inform me of the cancellation. If you are so unfortunate as to have to schedule a diagnostic test at St. Clair's radiology department, you should probably call every day - between the date you make the appointment and the day of the appointment - to ensure that the (at least one) moron did not touch your appointment and cancel it.

This is the worst er that I have ever visited. I have been there 4 times in the last 3 months with…read morefamily members and let me tell you that you will be there 7 plus hours. I have no clue why this er is so slow. There is no reason for er visits to be that long. No one comes in to check on you, they just put you in a room and disappears. Then 2 to 3 hours later they come in and tell you they are taking you for ct scan, xray, mri, and then you wait 3 to 4 hours for the results. They have a board in the room that tells you when the results are in but again you wait for hours to get them. They need to hire more staff so they can keep the er running smoothly and efficiently instead of waiting forever. We live 5 mins from this hospital but the next time we have to go I will take them somewhere else with a better turn around time. This is completely ridiculous. The other people I have a problem with is the security there. Some of them think that they are real cops and treat you with no respect.

In the emergency room I waited for quite a long time in ever increasing pain until the PA doctor named Lindsey came in. Trying to explain to her what happened and the extreme pain I was in was frustrating because she continued to talk over me and interrupt me. She began by saying both my foot and ankle looked the same besides a little swelling. She had an attitude that I interpreted as being that I just wanted drugs. She was rude, unprofessional, arrogant, poor beside manners and snooty. All I wanted was for the pain to stop and she continued to talk while I waited for a pain shot. I hope to never have her again and hope the hospital takes this seriously. I had to stay over night and into much of Saturday in room 313. The two nurses I had were very kind, courteous and very professional. Their names were Crystal and Gabi. They were very friendly and were responsive when I needed help. Hopefully they get commended for their efforts and great bedside manners.
