This was the best burrito I had in San Diego during my most recent trip! I heard the further south you go, the better the food, and they were not wrong. I went to Hermanos and the worker helped me order a Surf and Turf with Adobada. I asked him if the liked surf and turf better or adobada, and recommended I combined the two! The place is cash only, and it has some seating inside. We waited about 5 minutes for our burrito, and it was delicious. The burrito was wet and saucy (I love saucy burritos). The flavors were strong and the pork was tender. The shrimp had the perfect bounce. Every bite was delicious! I would definitely recommend! read more

Came in on a Saturday afternoon around 1 pm and there was our ly 1 family in the restaurant eating, but finishing up. I saw an ig post that Hermanos has the best carne asada fries so I had to try it out. I ordered a carne asada burrito, an order of carne asada fries and 5 rolled taco. The cost was $32 and some change. Food was ready in less than 10 minutes. We had our food to go and I had requested green and red salsa. We took our food to go and it fed my family of 4. I did have half of a burrito left. The fries were a good ratio of fries and carne asada. I like that the carne asada was well seasoned. My sister, who always gets fries when she comes home from the Bay Area, thought there were more fries than meat. But I was OK with it. The burrito was good, but I wasn't a big fan of the rolled tacos. I appreciated that the rolled tacos had generous amount of meat, but I thought it was just OK. I love putting hot sauce on my Mexican food, but unfortunately I didn't enjoy the taste of their hot sauce. I tried both and wasn't a fan. Overall, it was a good experience. Drove all the way from the IE, to try this spot. Food was amazing however, when asked to have my Guacamole on the side i observed the employee add charges on the register. I asked what he was doing. My family stopped by here for lunch after a morning of hiking. The food here is authentic and good, and portions are big. Tacos are bigger than the usual street tacos, and the burritos are about a foot long! The enchiladas are pretty solid, with generous amounts of chicken and a good sauce. There's horchata, jamaica, and pina drinks available in addition to the usual fountain drinks, and refills are $1.60 if I remember correctly. I like that there is a Pac Man arcade game in the shop if you're feeling like playing some retro arcade games while you wait for your food. Oh my goodness! We stopped by this restaurant because we were already hungry. We weren't gonna go bc previous yelp pictures showed that they only accept cash, however, now they accept card payments! The carne asada was alright, but the menudo was so worth it! It had so much tripe. Usually when I go to other places, it's full of hominies, but this one was just right. It was plenty. If anyone can tell me when this place opened up I'd love to know. So I first came to this taco shop when I was maybe 16-17yrs old, I am now 42 years young and the food is still as great as I remember it. There's also a pleasant young lady who's also been there for quite some time. I'm embarrassed that after going there this long I don't know her name but she's super nice every time I've gone in. I have lived all over the county and now find myself in Lakeside but I still make the drive all the way here for the carne asada fries. No one else even comes close, and it's not from lack of trying to find a new closer spot. There's times I'll find a new place then the 2nd go round the quality lacks.......but this place nails it every single time. The fries are shoe string, the guac is tasty and the cheeses they put on are just perfect. This place is near my workplace. I have been here a few times and have never been disappointed. The inside is small with a few tables. I have never seen it to packed though. I have only ordered to go. I usually call my order in and it Is ready pretty quickly. Considering I work across the street literally,and I order for multiple people, I rarely have to wait. The customer service is pretty good as well. The only thing that stops me from going more often is that it's cash only, although I did see a Venmo QR code on my last trip. I think the best thing I have had there is a carne asada burrito and the carne asada fries. I really like the flavor and the cook on the meat. I also have tried a bean and cheese burrito and it was good. I'm picky about my refried beans. I would say that I didn't really like the adobada fries, but they weren't terrible. This place is so inconsistent, Im ready to give up. They used to be open 24hrs... then the pandemic hit! Post pandemic, they are no longer 24hrs, totally understandable! But they close randomly now. They've always been fairly priced, and even with the state of the world and raising prices, they've managed to keep it fair. My family and I routinely go out for Mexican food after church on Sundays, and I was in the mood to try a different restaurant than usual. Find this shop close to our house with decent reviews. While the location was alright, and the service was good, my only gripe was the $8 bacon breakfast burrito I ordered. Now it may have been the cook on duty, but I've had many breakfast burritos and this was sad. It seemed as though they grabbed a large order of French fries and threw in some bits of bacon with a smattering of egg and cheese and rolled them up. For the majority of the burrito I had a hard time identifying there was actually egg in the burrito. You can see from the image it's like 90% potato. My family didn't order what I did and they had no complaints. If the restaurant reaches out I may consider visiting again.
