Came here for the first time because my regular dog park had no parking. On the plus side, this dog park has plenty of parking, so no worries there! To get to Hermon Dog park, you need to keep driving towards the end of the park. Once you see the dog park sign, you can park. You'll need to go further in by walking through a bridge/tunnel. I saw a person here at the dog park in a wheel chair, so this park is accessible for those with wheel chairs! The dog park is divided into a little Dog and big dog area. We stayed in the big dog area. It's fun because there are dog agility items that your dog can use. There are also benches to sit on. I felt like this dog park was not the cleanest. I have to preface this by saying there were mud piles on the ground due to previous rain and dogs would pee in there and other dogs would walk through it and/or roll around it. There was also one dog owner that don't pick up after their dog, which is a huge pet peeve of mine. Dog owners here also would let their dogs hump other dogs without doing anything so some dog owners took their dogs and left because of this behavior. Pros: -lots of free parking -agility courses/ramps -little and big dog area Cons: -not all dog owners closely watch their dog

We were driving by on the freeway and noticed the dog park. Saw dogs doing their paces on some agility equipment! Made a note to come back with our Ruxin to check it out. Came back on a cool weather Saturday. Someone must have brought in that agility equipment we previously saw because they weren't there. But, there was some permanent agility fixtures on the big dog side. All the dogs (big & small) were hanging out in the big dog side. So in we went. Folks were very friendly! We were chatting the entire time. Ruxin's usually skittish around big dogs, but they were all nice so he got comfortable quickly. We tried getting him interested in the equipment, but he wanted to just run around & be social. He seemed to enjoy the vibe here. It's all dirt, but he didn't mind at all. We're glad to have found this dog park. It's a nice alternative to our usual Pasadena place which has gotten over-crowded in the last year. Good to have the equipment there too. We'll be back!

This place is a small little park where your dog can run around off leash in the gated area. There's a small dog fence and large dog fence area. The only down side is that the dog park area is all dirt. The small dog fenced in area is not as nice as the large dog fenced in area. But overall, my dog enjoyed time run around with a couple of small dogs and enjoyed time roaming around alone. I will bring my dog back it, it's close to my home which is perfect! Can't wait for my pup to make more furr friends.

Large, open and fenced space of dirt for dogs to run about freely. We had a lovely office dog park day where we got to bond with each other and our dogs. There are tables outside of the fenced area and we brought food, potluck-style, to enjoy with one another. None of the dogs had any issues with the dog park or with any unfriendly dogs. There was a separate enclosed area for smaller dogs that may not be accustomed to or like bigger dogs. Overall, I would bring my dog back!

Great place for Roxy to play. We came on a Sunday afternoon when there were few people. We wanted to introduce Roxy to a new place and help her socialize with other dogs. Parking is convenient, amd entry to the park easy. We eventually met other dogs, amd Roxy had a good time. I'm sure Roxy would love to come back. We talked to some of the dog owners, and some were friendly. Just not happy about the restroom facilities at the park.

Staying true to it's namesake, the arroyo seco dog park is the driest, loneliest dog park I have ever visited. No dogs for me to play with, one tree for shade, three trash cans and lots of sad, unused tennis balls. The small fenced in area is all gravel/sand. No grass. There is a big dog section that is relatively small, and an even smaller small dog section. One water area on each side provides much needed hydration. I am glad the city is opening up new dog parks, but I am sad to say that this one just isn't that exciting. After you have a sniff here, try walking down to the stream (on leash) and getting your paws wet.

Mine is the small one. Note the clear delineation of dust and grass.

Why are so many dog parks dust bowls? This park opens around 8am and consists of two fenced in dust lots. Not a blade of grass. There's water and some benches for owners. They do split up the empty lot into an area for small dogs and one for bigger dogs but seriously, no grass at all? It's not as big as the dust bowl in Silver Lake. Gets busier around dinnertime and on the weekends but I've been the only person here on more than one occasion. Some of the dogs get a bit rough though and the younger "owners" often don't react at all. There's just so much dust. There's a grassy lot across the bridge toward the 110 which is much better. Technically not an off-leash area but if your dog's well behaved, he'll do fine.

She likes the ramp and dog watching just like me!

This is a decent park to take your dog to if you live around the area. It is fairly small in comparison to the dog park in Pasadena and has no grass for your dog to frolic in happiness. This park is mostly dirt sand and while it is less maintenance, the dogs can really kick up a dust storm sometimes. For such a small dog park, it has very interesting dog equipment to choose from such as a ramp, ball launcher, jumping sick, and a landing platform. There is also sticks that can used to pick up your dogs waste which is always a plus. There is adequate seating for you to just sit back and relax, while your dog mingles with others. The people that bring their dogs here are friendly and since I have been here, there has been no incident of an aggressive dog. I would probably bring my German shepherd back here, it's close, small and does the job!

Bailey and Winston enjoy the park.

My dogs love going here. There aren't always a lot of dogs, but its a clean dog park. There is a separate park for smaller dogs. Hermon Dog Park isnt as big or popular as the one in Pasadena- which is all grass and full of life. Most people here are nice and lots of events are planned at Hermon Dog Park. We go once a week at least!

Been coming here for years upon years, a solid dog park for the locals. They separate the dog park…read morebetween smaller and large dogs which is a good thing to see to avoid any extensive harm, etc. It's often pretty clean here but occasionally, you'll see dogs poop and people not being responsible picking up the poop. There's some obstacles around in both sections but dogs don't really use them. Not much shade around, people usually stand by the wall or sit on the benches. There's a couple tables in the big dog section though with umbrellas for shade which is nice. The big dog section is certainly way bigger than the small dog section. They're able to explore more, and sniff around all around. PROS: - Small dogs vs Big Dogs section - Big space for big dogs to roam around - Free poop bags - Water fountain in both sections CONS: - Sometimes too dirty - Puddles after rain - Not sure if water is clean - Lots of sand which causes dust up that can cause damage to dogs eyes Overall, a decent dog park, not much to do besides watch your dog roam around. My wife and I have met plenty of friendly dogs here and also a decent amount of non friendly dogs. Usually owners are responsible but you'll often find that sometimes there's dog owners that are just on their phones and not watching their dog.

The section for large dogs is bigger than the section for small dogs. Poop bags and water stations are available in both spaces. There are a few benches and tables in each area as well. This park is fairly well-maintained, although it could be better. Most dog owners that I've run into seem friendly and responsible. However, there are some owners that are completely careless and do not control their misbehaving dogs. Watch out for some of the huskies that are brought here (they can get aggressive). Hours are supposedly 7am to 7pm everyday. However, I have run into multiple instances where they have not opened up yet even though it was past 7am. It would be nice if they opened the park in a timely manner.

Great place for a hike and definitely a hidden gem from when I lived down the hill growing up…read more To get there, you drive all the way up the hill and you'll find a park with plenty of parking. There are a few different trail options--on the right side, the path is more paved and easy to walk (no hiking sticks needed). The left trail is more of a hillside route and is a bit more challenging, where hiking sticks would be helpful. The hike starts off with a fairly steep incline for about the first 8 minutes or so, but then it levels out and the rest is pretty easy--great for getting your steps in. If you want an extra challenge, stay on the left trail for more elevation gain. The views of Los Angeles at the top are beautiful, and in the mornings you'll see plenty of dog walkers enjoying the area. Coyotes are present, so be aware, but they generally keep their distance and doesn't bother anyone. Restrooms are currently closed due to construction of new facilities, so plan accordingly. If you want an extra workout, park at the very bottom of the street and walk up to the trailhead. Overall, it's a great hike for friends--easy to chat, enjoy the scenery, and get a solid LA view and workout at the same time.

However there are other parking spots along the road, so you usually can get a spot somewhere. Bird watching is big in this area, be sure to download the Audubon Center's bird watching app if that's your thing. Hiking can be confusing here with no clear paths marked, so you just kind of try different ways to learn your way around. A lot is NOT covered by shade so wear sunscreen and be prepared for a lot of sunshine. One thing here I have noticed in my few visits, there is so much poop on the trail! Way more than other locations. A lot of it looks like it belongs to dogs and also, tons of plastic bags filled with dog poop. I don't understand bagging the poop and still leaving it! Dog owners, please clean up after your pups because it makes this trail not that fun to walk on when there are mounds of poop everywhere. Other than that, I like this trail. There are a lot of holes on the trail and every now & then, you'll see a ground squirrel pop their cute little head out. There are also coyotes and rattlesnakes, so stay alert. There have also been a few famous murders here, years ago, so just always stay alert. Trails in this park range from 104 to 646 feet of elevation gain and are 2-3 miles in length per loop.
