One of the five trees at the small dog side
    Cyl C.

Been to this dog park a couple of times with my brother's dogs and it's conveniently near the house. We hit a bit of traffic coming here when we went in the morning over the weekend because it's either you take Riverside Drive, which is one lane towards the LA Zoo and 5 and 134 freeway entrances or you can take the 134 from either way and exit Zoo Drive to avoid the traffic going to the zoo. There is a small parking lot available to use for parking and the dog park has too sides, one for the big dogs and one for the small dogs. But I think the big dog portion is more spoiled because they have more shaded areas in comparison to the small dog side. There are literally only 5 trees that provide shade on the small dog side, but they are small and spread out and only have about 5 to 6 chairs that are moveable whole there are a couple of cement benches on the sides of the fence and a cement picnic table in the middle with no shade coverage whatsoever. The park is straight up dirt and they do provide trashcans, pooper scoopers, and tennis balls for your convenience as well as a water bowl and water spout for the dogs. Depending when you come there will be either a couple or a lot of dogs at a time. It's also right next door to the freeway so you can hear the cars zoomby, but ended up tuning them out eventually as time passes. We didn't stay too long since the sun was beating down real hard and the two dogs we had were getting tired cause of the heat. Other than that just here for the convenience of being close by to the house.

Lola relaxing after some good zoomies.

Our old girl loved her first time at the dog park! I cannot forget to mention how nice everyone was! Our first time and we will definitely be back. So nice to see all of our pups have fun. Lots of pooper scoopers and water. Big shady trees too. It's all dirt so be prepared to give your doggo a bath afterwards, but we didn't mind since she was so happy!

If your dog doesn't mind being just a few yards from the freeway or doesn't mind the noises of the speeding cars and trucks then this is a great off-leash dog park. There's two separate spaces: one for the well-behaved, playful, social dogs and the other for my dog. Yes my dog is spoiled. Yes my dog barks incessantly. Yes my dog will claim his little corner and will not allow you to go near. Yes my dog barks if you seem to be having too much fun or not enough fun. That other little space for "timid/shy" dogs is for my dog. I take him here and he sniffs around and barks. People who come here expect that or at least they should. I know its time to go when the other dog parents escape to the other "social/playful" area leaving my dog and his barks alone. So I let him bark, and bark, and bark.

    Friendly dobbie!

Sounds like there's polarized opinions on this park. Guess it depends on the owners that show up. People seem to be the problem. The ones with attitude n self-entitlement. The only large dogs in the large section is ridiculous. They rnt separated so the large dogs don't come across small dogs. They r separated for the small dogs that can't handle large dogs for obvious reasons. Or timid ones. This place is fine for a dog park. Plenty of parking. The 'directions' button on this yelp thing won't get u there. It's just wrong. Look at the map instead.

We found broken glass here for the second time. Both times has been right by the big tree. Keep your eyes peeled for this stuff.

This dog park has always been convenient and we've never had a problem, but today we found some broken glass for the second time. Both times has been over by the big tree, so be mindful of it. Other than that, our Chica loves this park and we'll be back.

Cons: -Off Leash dogs -A lot of questionable litter near most of the trees and within the grasses of the park. The grasses didn't look to be mowed for a while and don't know what's hiding so I didn't bother to go near. -Trash cans were all overflowed and stinky. I spotted multiple groups of older Armenian or Middle Eastern folks playing some type of boardgames. It seems like this is a regular thing at this park as I got the idea they were very comfortable at this park- smoking, drinking, eating, having their shoes off. It didn't bother me and it's an admirable gathering. Though the smoke did congregate and thicken the air and I prefer not to second-hand smoke. I would come back to enjoy the open field!

It's cute. We came here for an event the park held called National Night Out, where they had a bunch of vendors and booths and gave out a bunch of free stuff to the kiddos. It was fun. The only downside is we did see a coyote here. Which is pretty dangerous, obviously. We saw some joggers who encountered it, and the coyote ran away when the joggers got close, but the joggers also kind of ran away lol. In other words, it's a nice park, but I would be cautious with coyotes.

One served burgers, fries, nachos, and soda, and the other served popsicles. I was relieved they even had those because at first I thought there weren't any food trucks at all. When I first went into the park, I wasn't even sure where the festival was. I just followed the people in front of me. We all followed the sound of a live band playing. Once we found the band, we could see a row of tents opposite of them. The tents were mostly for sign ups to performing arts for both children and adults, that's why I thought there wasn't any food. Then I realized the 2 food trucks were parked on the road close to the row of tents. Even the number of portable restrooms available was small, only 3, but again, better than none at all. As far as festivals go, you get what you pay for and since this one was free from parking to entrance, don't expect much. It's still something to do and a good excuse to spend some time at the park with nice weather. As for the park itself, it's clean and a way to enjoy nature in the city. There are even plaques talking about the L.A. River and a bridge to go over the water. Just know that you'll hear the constant sound of cars because of the nearby freeway. Plus, it being Burbank, you can't help but be surrounded by the entertainment industry. The park itself is named after late night host Johnny Carson, you can see the ABC skyscraper over the treetops, and when you see the mountain with the radio tower on top, you know you're looking at the backside of the Hollywood sign.

I wanted something that have an uphill, but she didn't feel like. The park is small, has tennis/pickle ball courts, a playground with soft matting, picnic tables, and benches throughout the park for resting. I liked the outdoor exercise equipment; I tried most of them and what an exercise I got. If I live nearby, I will come here every day instead of paying for a gym membership. Public facility on site, clean, fully stocked, and bright - unlike many park restrooms that are dark and smelly. Parking is easy, with spots both on the street and inside the park.

I'm not usually a fan of change, but they redesigned it with such thoughtfulness and heart that I can't even protest. Just to name a few of the updates, it now has eight tennis courts, outdoor exercise equipment, four pickleball courts, a basketball court, a soccer field, a splash pad, and winding walking paths. For a snack shop at a park, the selection was pretty impressive and unexpectedly high quality. Instead of the usual generic freezer-bin options, they carried a surprisingly curated variety of international ice creams and treats that actually felt thoughtfully chosen. The freezer selection alone looked like a tiny specialty market hidden inside a recreation center. The entire setup also matched the atmosphere of the park itself: clean, sunny, well-maintained, and quietly elevated in that very Southern California way where even the snack shop somehow has aesthetic range.
