Been taking the dog out more often on runs with me to get him outdoors and give him some excitement. I came across this dog park on our run a couple of days ago...today I decided to go over there and take a look since there was no one there. I checked to make sure everything was pretty fenced. I have a husky...they really shouldn't be let off leash unless an area is enclosed. Plus this dog doesn't listen to anything! Anyway, fenced off, all except the brick area in the front...which if he really wanted to, he could escape artist through there. Luckily this was so new to him, all he wanted to do was slowly sniff everywhere. Pretty cool area and I like how quiet it is. They have an area for small dogs and another for large. It was pretty clean and doggy poop bags are provided, though somehow some inconsiderate person still decided to leave a pile of dog doo there. I hope that person is in business clothes one day and accidentally steps on splattery dog doo and has to go into a meeting. :P This will be a new thing for dog. I think he likes it. It's not very often at all that he gets to roam free. Being unemployed we went earlier and it was empty...I'd rather take him and let him off leash when it's empty like that. Water there too, though this dog paid no mind to it. All he wanted to do was slowly sniff around. read more

There's one strip of like dirt but it's too close to the street and I was afraid his ball might go under the fence. There is free two hour parking a couple blocks away on Georgia st. read more

The park is gated and clean. It's small and has separate sections for big dogs and small. I liked that it seems private for a few dogs to run around unleashed. Unfortunately, my time there was cut short because there was a homeless man behind or in the bushes of the small dog side yelling at me to leave. This is a pretty unknown park since it's fairly new. It's empty right now although I did see 1 small dog in the other area and 2 large dogs that were in the big dog area. Owners were very nice and approachable. PROS: It doesn't smell like any type of dog defecation anywhere around here! Owners definitely pick up after their dogs so that's great. Theres an emergency tower located in both dog parks just in case something may go wrong. Big dog park is large enough for my 7 month old Husky to run around in, and even for the larger 2 adult dogs that were here earlier. There's 2 benches located in both parks, at the front and end. There's a dog fountain inside both parks. There's two stations that supplies dog waste bags and a trash can located next to it. It's not even smelly around there so it looks like they empty it out before it even gets full. There's three lampposts so I suspect that the parks may be well lit at night, but I don't know. I saw LA Live security patrol here once in the 2 hours I've been here! (: CONS: Not enough shade for everyone if this were to ever become a well known dog park. Small dog park has no shade, but the large dog park only has one area located at the end under the tree with a bench near it. Just a heads up though I've seen an empty beer can and a swisher sweets wrapper discarded on the floor in the large dog area. This dog park is tucked away next to the highway and behind the parking lot. It's not a high foot traffic area so the only people I've seen are workers from the convention center leave to go home but there's very few. Great dog park! I just wish there were more dogs for my Kobe to play with. read more

It's a block up from the JW Marriott LA Live. No grass just wood chip. It's ok for your dog to go unleash roaming around but it's not that clean when we visited. We saw poops on the ground, irresponsible dog owners didn't do their part to keep the place clean for others. They also has a water fountain for your dog. I like that. It's good for a travelers like us who traveling with our dog. It's right by the LA Live West Parking Garage. read more

I have discovered this dog many years ago when JW was barely finished. It's behind the parking structure for LA live. I'm glad they converted this small plot of land into a doggie park . It's small but hardly anyone here. It's clean and the ground is covered with brown color mulch . There is an emergency tower on each side just in case .About 2 clean metal benches .Its July and the flowers are falling from the tree. read more

Went today at around 2 PM. No other dogs and the place was pretty dirty. A lot of trash on the ground and so I had to constantly pick up and throw some away and make sure my dog wasn't getting any funny ideas with them. I think with better maintenance and more people, it could be a good dog park, but as of now it is very underwhelming. Also, the closest parking to it is the LA Live parking and the $10 for 2 hours currently is not worth it for this park right now. Will be looking at other parks. Hope they can give it a bit more attention because it's a decent space. read more

So if you're dressed up you wont get as dirty unless some excited dog jumps on you lol really love how convenient it is to park, $10 for the first 2hr at la live. This park got little fanfare when it opened a year ago (probably intentional on LA Live's part) So naturally I had to add the business information to Yelp. Clean park with great doggie amenities. There's even a small patch of grass across the street for dogs who prefer the green stuff. Thank you LA Live for adding to the South Park neighborhood! Extremely clean and well-maintained! Having a horrible experience in at the Silver Lake dog park made me really appreciate how great this one is. I regularly see maintenance workers cleaning up any litter, replacing the poop bag dispensers, trimming the bushes, and making sure the water fountains are in order. This is a wood chip filled dog park-- this actually makes it feel cleaner than the other dirt or grass dog parks in LA. Every few months or so, they replace the wood chips to maintain cleanliness. The large dog section here is a decent size while the small one is pretty tiny. It's just enough room for the small dogs to run around a bit, but I do wish it was bigger. This park isn't as busy as others due to its location, though it does get popular after work from 6-7pm. There's some street parking along Olympic or you can park in the LA Live lot closest to the dog park (first two hours for $5). read more

This dog park is huge,clean, attractive, and has so much potential--but no one knows it is here! This is our second time visiting with no other pups in sight. My little guy is always so dejected to get here and have no other little friends to play with :( I only found it about it myself via Yelp, so it could certainly stand for a little publicity! If it can get going, this will be our go to hangout. Two nicely sized separate areas for big friends and little friends-- the large dog side is just ENORMOUS, but the small dog side is really big compared to the other downtown parks too. Overall this dog park is pretty nice. Always clean and never too busy. We usually go in the mornings and rarely see any other dogs. The big dog side was a rather largish average sized area. Perfect for my little Mamba! Small dog side is small. I personally don't like the wood chips because I worry that a piece may get stuck in my dog's paw..(happened before under different circumstances lol) he's a little prissy, but anyways it does keep the park clean! Pros: probably the safest dog park in the surrounding LA area. Parking is $2 at the LA live structure. Park is generally clean (woodchips, not grass) and pretty large. Cons: right next to the freeway and a busy-ish street, so it's not very peaceful, and I get anxious when my dog gets too close to the fence. I've come after 5 on various Wednesdays and Thursdays and there's only a couple other dogs at that time, if any, which is a big - for me since my main priority in taking Chloe is to socialize her. Also the space is not large enough to accommodate more than 10 dogs in each area so I guess that's a good reason why not many people come. I go to USC so this park is closest for me but it wouldn't be my number one choice. read more

I love this place. The only downer is parking. You have to pay $10 if you want to park by the dog park in the la live parking structures. I've tried street parking, but it isn't that easy to find. You also have to cross through a lot of busy streets around the area. I would still recommend this place because it is usually well kept and not many dogs are here during the afternoon. There is a little dirt path on the left hand side. I like to run laps on with my dog when no one is around. Everyone I have met who comes here has had sweet dogs and attentive owners. No shaded area for people visiting the small dog park. The plants are cute but attracts bees and my dog loves to chase those MoFos so I gotta be on him because I don't want him to have to visit the vet. I bring my own water bowl because my dog isn't too keen on water fountains. No communal toys so if you're going you should bring some just in case there are no other dogs there your dog won't be completely bored out of his mind. My Dog loves this park! It's the only place within walking distance of my apartment that I can let her off her leash. Every day after work around 6 I take her and there are always 4-5 big dogs there that she can play with. The park itself is nothing special but if you live downtown its super convenient and dogs seem to love running around it anyways. There's a nice long area for them to get a good run going and theres also a water fountain and small bags to pick up after your dog. It's always nice and clean too so you don't have to worry about stepping in anything gross. I don't think very many people know about it so beside from the regulars who take their dog their before/after work its usually empty :(. Besides the trash cans being wide-mouthed (therefore having a bad smell) and the water fountain on the large dog section overflowing at times, it is a great place for your pup to get his or her energy out. There are two completely gated in sections, one for small and one for large dogs. The small dog section is decently sized, and the large dog side has lots of room for our pup to run. Both sides are stocked with waste bags for your dog, as well as a water fountain for them to drink from. They are finished in wood chips, not grass. We come here at least 2-3 times a week and and there has seldom been a time we were here without another friendly dog to play with. read more
