(to give you a visual) womp, womp. Jake assessed the "project" to determine that it wasn't fit for me to ride, which made me feel safe that I was in good hands as he was looking out for my well-being - LOVE THAT! Love you, Jake!!! You're my boy blue. The repairs were costly at first, and he made it work within my budget. Full transparency (asking questions) and good communication go a long way and keep the peace (note to everyone). I am soooo beyond grateful that he knew what was needed and took care of it all within just two days! Attentive, fast, and thorough - calling to share updates along the way. I highly recommend Hermosa Cyclery! After my very first ride, my new e-bike developed a terrible high-pitched screech. To make matters worse, it fell off my bike rack on the way back to the shop, causing a lot of damage. The team at Hermosa Cyclery went above and beyond. They handled the issue with Aventon, repaired all the damage from the fall, and did not overcharge me for the replacement parts. They made a stressful situation so much easier by taking care of everything. It's rare to find this level of customer service. They truly stand behind what they sell, and I'm incredibly grateful. Worked with Josh who was great We had left our credit card in our hotel room, only had our debit card, he made an exception - we rented two e-bikes and Josh was great showing us everything we needed to know Wife's chain somehow came off way down towards Dockweiler - we were able to motor it back - but unfortunate. Happened to be passing by Hermosa Cyclery one day when I noticed I needed a derailleur adjustment, and so I pulled up and was kindly greeted by a gentleman whom asked what was going on with my bike. He saw to my issue immediately, and after the adjustments were made, I fully expected to at least pay for his time and labor, but to my surprise, they did not charge me a Dime for their service and I was on my way in less than 5 minutes. I left feeling very impressed with the immediate attention to my bike needs as well as for their complimentary service. On today, it was my intention to stop by, but this time for a brake inspection and/or possible service, and again, no disappointments whatsoever. They took my ebike in and diagnosed the issue, and within 30 minutes I was back on the road. These guys are very friendly, honest, knowledgeable, with fast convenient service, and reasonable prices. To put your reply in perspective when I take my car for a repair and I have my car diagnosed there's usually a fee for the diagnosis right and if I choose not to have my car repaired at said shop I pay a fee for the work rendered which is fair , If I have the work done at said shop every place I've ever taken my car to and had the work done they have always applied the diagnostic fee towards the work done . I brought my Aventon E-Bike down to the shop because the headlight popped off last week and I wasn't able to repair it myself. The service shop saved my butt twice in a row without an appointment on a busy Saturday with fast and really affordable prices. HATS OFF to RODNEY ... ALILIA ... ALEX ... and MATTHEW! I rented/ rode an eBike for the first time. This was to be my "experiment" because I intend to buy an eBike conversion kit but before I plunked down a lot of $$$ ... I of course wanted to "experience" an eBike ride at Redondo Beach (where I live). PROBLEM: I have severe osteoarthritis in my left hip. I've been able to pedal my semi-recumbent bike with minimal pain ... But it hurts a LOT to ... walk my bike. I have to push my 70 pound bike uphill for more than a mile to then bike ride the remaining distance to my home. But because my hip has been getting worse the last couple of months I've had to cut back my trip from 15 miles (with walking) to about 6 miles (with walking). I don't like missing out of so much good cardio (and the wonderful scenery at the beach!) ... So that's when i decided to convert my pedal bike into an eBike hybrid from a company called: eSwitchyBikes.com. So today when I went to Hermosa Beach Cyclery for my "test eBike experiment" ... With my bad hip, I had a lot of problems just getting "onto" the bike seat. When I finally got up on the seat the next problem is that the bike store had strapped a large bicycle lock and its container onto the vertical bar directly beneath my bike seat. That container made it very hard to get on and off the bike and the pedals on went clockwise ... instead of both clockwise and counter-clockwise. That made it impossible for me to start the pedaling with myh "good hip/leg" and then "catch" the other pedal with my "bad hip/ leg." So I almost gave up on the eBike when RODNEY came to the rescue! I explained to him my predicament and without my asking him ... He just cut off the zip ties that were strapped to the bicycle lock/ container! Now I had ZERO problem getting comfortably on and off the bike and pedaling with safety! The rest of my ride was a JOY as I got to have some fun with the eBike at the beach! ------------------------------------------------------------ My next step is to revisit Hermosa Beach Cyclery on my own recumbent bike and show RODNEY-ALEX photos of the eBike conversion kit to get their pricing on the conversion. ------------------------------------------------------------ THANKS AGAIN to Rodney, Alilia, Alex, and Matthew for making my visit to Hermosa Beach Cyclery today a BIG SUCCESS! read more

On Monday 6.16.25 I took my bike after I got a flat the the end of the marina and I usually always take it in here for any issues I have, I should have known something was a bit off as they told me they had no space to hold my bike they asked for me to stick around so I did no problem, come to return I received my bike like this which is completely unacceptable and when I told the employee he said he didn't drop it these look like scrap mark they are engraved on the bike and this isn't cool whatever happened happened at that shop and needs to be fixed this is a 1000+$ bike Now I am being harassed by the owner because he says I am lying and trying to scam them so definitely be careful with this shop I will never return I rather ride the bus ! Hermosa Cyclery is amazing! They are organized and professional. If you're at Hermosa Pier one day look for something fun to do with friends or family try this place. I rented the 7-speed bike for $14.00 per hr. You will have to sign a document and give them your driver's license before you rent your bike. They will give you a yellow slip with the lock code for your bike. Also, You don't need to make Reservations. A beautiful bike ride through Hermosa, Manhattan Beach, and El Segundo. I could have kept going a bit further but had other things planned that evening. The bike ride is beautiful as you are close to the beach and strand for miles. After your long ride, it's plenty of restaurants and ice cream shops on Hermosa Pier to recharge your battery. Parking: If you're new to the area and worried about parking. Its a big parking garage in front of the shop across the street. Very easy to navigate Overall: This place is amazing and the operation is excellent. You pay at the very end of your ride and they return your driver's license to you. Incredible place to rent bikes for a chill day in California. read more

We always rent bikes when visiting LA and found this spot last minute when the other spot we previously used was unexpectedly closed. We walked up and got bikes immediately without any reservation. We were very pleased with the rate and quality. We took 2 - 7speeds out for a planned 2 hours and returned them a little early and they only charged us for the time used. The staff was kind, helpful, and we appreciated the little map of The Strand. We rode north up near the electric plant and back, very beautiful and peaceful. We will return! read more
