Laziest shop around. Tried to get some work done and was told "oh thats harder, we dont do that". Not that they couldn't, or would charge extra.....but they only want to do easy work. Never seen a business turn down a customer because the work is "harder". Most would simply charge accordingly. Aparantly this shop doesnt like to work and just want to sell you things. Wish I could give zero stars since I received zero customer service. By the way....this "hard" work....was installing a set of tires on a bike thats been worked on at several other shops that had no issues. They are simply lazy and only want easy work. Came here on a holiday to rent a bike, it wasn't too busy and I was helped out by Moses! He was very friendly, informative, and helped me pick out the best rental for 3+ hours. I went with the comfort bike and it was $30 for a daily rate, otherwise it would be $10 per hour, until you reach 3+ hours and it would then get charged for the daily rate. This was the best deal and still very close to the beach where bike rentals can be more expensive. You can either choose to bike to the beach area from here (Redondo, Manhattan, Torrance, Hermosa) or you can use it on a bike rack to get to your destination. My husband has his own bike rack so I just rented the comfort for the day. Conveniently located in Torrance Blvd which leads you to the Redondo Beach area ASAP. Also located by the Del Amo fashion center which is the hot spot mall for all things food and shopping. They have a separate store for bike purchase and you can always ask the staff about renting vs purchasing if you're in the market for a bike. Really easy to book with them in person, and you can also book online to save time. I haven't had a 'flat tire' in many decades, but it happens when you least expect it. What caused it is a mystery, because the bike wasn't being ridden, but stationary indoors. When I removed the inner tube, I discovered a puncture. The rubber liner for the rim that cushions the tube from the spokes was not worn out and still intact. I happen to have some of those 'self-adhesive, round, rubber patches' [SKABS + generic brand from TEMU] and gave them both a try. Neither of them worked, but SKABS was the better of the two options. So, this brings me to buying a new inner tube, but from where and how much do they cost these days. I drove to Walmart, but they didn't stock 20" x 3.0. A nearby bike shop that I know apparently went out of business or moved. So, I decided to do an online search for other shops in my area and located two. Torrance Bikes was the closest. I also did online shopping to get an idea of what it might cost. Walmart.com $12.15; Amazon $16.88 (for 2); TEMU (China) $12.63 (included bonus of 2 tire/rim levers for the job); TEMU (Local Warehouse) $6.72 'Lightning Deal' ($3 shipping or Free w/ $30 purchase). I drove to Torrance Bikes and it cost $15.99 for the inner tube. Although the price was more than I hoped for, I bought it because 'time is money' (i.e., convenience is a factor to consider). I didn't want to wait for delivery, nor worry that a 'porch pirate' might steal it. Torrance Bikes appears to be a small, family owned shop. Judging by their crowded inventory, e-Bikes rentals, sales, & repairs seems to be the trend. The young man that helped me was friendly & competent. Super nice guys. I had a back tire on my electric bike that kept edging out of the rim and he got it back in nicely, which wasn't easy. It took brute strength. It held for awhile, but he explained I needed the steel bead for the back tire to catch in the rim to keep it firmly in place, so I went ahead and ordered one and he was right. It was so easy install (no manual manipulating needed at all) and it works like a charm. read more

Our favorite bike shop in the SouthBay area. Great price to service an ebike after a minor crash. Torrance Bikes completed all the repairs, fully checked it for safety, and gave recommendations for maintenance. Another local shop held the bike for 7 days, then decided they couldn't replace the hydraulic fluid in the brakes (mechanic said he didn't recognize the brand) and began to up-sell new brakes for $190 a piece. Best part - we have a new favorite Bike shop we can count on for friendly, honest, and experienced service - they even have a separate showroom full of new bikes and rentals. After a few hundred miles, I brought the bike in for an initial tune-up and asked Rick about options to make the bike faster. Rick was extremely knowledgeable and spent some time discussing how I could improve the bike. I called Torrance Bikes regarding a tricycle that I had bought in Offer Up. One of the gears was not working properly. They said that they did not really work on trikes due to liability but to bring it over anyway. They said that they COULD work on it since the issue is with gears. I was so happy. They were able to fix the issue and then pointed out that the bike could use a tune up. I decided to go ahead with it and they gave me a discount. Great! After the tune up, there was a little sound and they wanted to wait for the expert to come and check it out. I thought it was very honest of them to not just give up on it but seek help from a more knowledgeable person. They were extremely throughtout and even took it for a test ride.
