The good: I booked this as an anniversary date and my husband and I loved it! It was $40 per person for 2 hours. It was our first time using e-bikes and it was an easy experience. The beach trail was fantastic. The lady there was really thorough and good about explaining how to use the bike, points of interests and events going on by the beach, and answering our questions. She spoke clearly and at a slower pace so we really understood everything well. The bikes were cruiser-style bikes. They sell e-bikes as well and had many on sale. The bad: They don't have options for kids' seats or trailers. The interesting: There's no age requirement but you have to be at least 4'10" (?) ish or taller to ride their bikes. They'll give you a bike based on your height. You're given a bike lock as well. The basket in the front is stuck to the frame so it doesn't move with the direction of the front wheel. You only need a pedal assist of 1 for the beach because it's flat but it can go all the way up to 9. Helmets are optional. read more

I would rent again. Registration was easy. Store front guy was great, informative and friendly. Bikes were heavy, rattled a little (bring a towel to lay in the basket to protect items and absorb bumps/shock. I loved that a helmet, lock and basket was included with the price, other places charge for those extras. We rode to Venice/back. 15+ miles each way, the seat is cushy but very wide and made it a little uncomfortable for the long ride. read more

Visited on Monday 10/7 around 12:30 PM: We called ahead of time to ask for pricing, and the employee answered with courtesy and kindness. He even told us where we could park to find their store the easiest, which is the upper level of the structure. As we entered the store, he (I forgot to ask his name, which sucks, because he was so nice!) came out to help us and I asked about their e bike prices and he showed us the nice bikes they have for sale as well. He also let us know he works on maintenance on the bikes, about 6, a day. I like that it's noticeable that he enjoys his work and still provided superb customer service! The bikes were nice and clean, and I was happy that they had a smaller bike for me, since I am 5'4. Everything was explained in detail, too. It's a minimum of 2 hours to rent. Perfect Weather for that day to go for a Bike Ride! Mark dropped the E-Bike off to me at my hotel to me in person. Gave a quick lesson on how to work the E-Bike. Then I was off to hit the Beach and the area around Manhattan Beach. It was awesome to not have to worry about parking my rental car for dinner and coffee. Just locking it up as they told me. The e biking experience with Beach E Biking was great. This is the second time I've used them now with out of town guest. They do a great job explaining how to operate the bikes and where to go. The bikes function well, are comfortable to ride, and have a convenient basket to haul things if needed. The battery life is good as long as you don't only use the throttle the whole time. we went all the way up to Venice and back in 4 hours with no battery problems. I've been to this place two times and both times I came here, the customer service was very helpful. One thing I wish is that they'd open earlier than 10am just so we could avoid the summer heat as much as possible and to avoid any mid morning rush on the boardwalks. Also I liked that you can sign the waiver online or just scan a QR code when you get there, takes a few minutes to get situated. The associate tells you how to operate the bike and bike lock. It was an educating experience. The bikes were fun to ride. They were in good condition. It was something I needed just to relax from the stress of day to day work. I like that the store was actually on the beach property close to the parking garage. It's a bit expensive to rent in my honest opinion. But it's convenient if you just want to take it for a joy ride once in a while. It's a suitable bike for the area since there's a lot of foot traffic in between Redondo and Hermosa, but once you past that, you can enjoy zipping around. read more
