The Dropout is easily one of the best bike shops around. Whether you're coming in for service, gear, or just to talk bikes, the whole place has an awesome vibe. You can tell it's built by people who actually ride and care about the community. Big shoutout to JP (Jonathan) and Andrew. They're both super knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and genuinely look out for you. No pressure, no upselling, just solid advice and great service.

JP is awesome! Kind, friendly, supportive, knowledgeable, available, and affordable. They won't upsell you or talk over your head. The DropOut is your one stop shop for service, bikes and gear. They're legit! Now, LFG!!!!!!!

bathroom facing an open window. A coat hanger, toilet freshener, a picture of bikers using public urinals, and "remember to flush."

I needed to use their bathroom right before close during the Scaredown and they let me in no problem with directions all the way to the back then a right. With the limited amount of space they truly make the most of it, especially with their bathroom. They provide tampons and pads, there's a buday installed and also tp, multiple soap options, a coat rack, and hilarious , bike-related, potty humor paintings to top it all off. Im sure there's more I missed, so I took a few pictures. Overall excellent service for the 10 minutes I was (fully costumed) in there.

Ask the Community - The DropOut Cyclery

Hi! Do you buy used bikes? I would like to sell one of my old ebikes. Thanks!

Hey Grace! We do at time. Please feel free to send photos of the bike via text to 424.488.2099 and we’ll take a look! Have a great day!

Can you change a 26"x4" Fat Tire? What is the cost also.. I have the new tire, Tube, liner

Sure can! For ebikes the labor is $30.00

Hi there. I've got a SRAM Xglide 53/39T chainring and would like to replace it with a WickWerks 53/34T chainring. It's a SRAM Red groupset on a 2014 Trek Madone. Are you able to do that work? What are your thoughts?

Happy to help!

Do you fit road bikes?

We sure do. Basic bike fits start at $129

Can you guys service/tune up my juiced ebike?

Sure can! Happy to help!

Do you do repairs on Lectric E-bikes?

Yes! We are a dealer and certified repair center for Lectric Electric Bicycles.

Do you service Canyon road bikes?

We sure do!

Hi there, can you install mid drive e-bike conversion kit? I need help!

We can, but we don’t. They pose too high a risk of frame failure. Thanks for checking! Here if you need anything else. Best of luck.

My Shimano shifters are not working, can you help?

Sure can!

Do you guys work on mountain bikes?

Absolutely!

Hi there. I just ordered a road bike that will ship to me semi-assembled. Do you offer a service to put the bike together and tune it accordingly? If so, is there a ball park price range? Thanks!

Absolutely! We finish the build and tune it up for $80 bucks. Price will vary if it’s an electric bike and/or doesn’t come semi-assembled.

Art was patient with all of our questions, encouraging we pay attention to how the bike felt and giving us his expert feedback. The selection of affordable bikes and the fact that I didn't have to deal with bike racks while still having a full- size fat tire bike was a big deal for me . With so many different bike shops I visited, I wish I had visited Go Ebikes sooner. I am so happy with my purchase and knowing a 1-year warranty backs it up.

I brought my son's bike in to have the brakes bled. Before going in, I called and was told the cost…read morewould be $120 because they needed to order specific oil. After waiting two weeks, I received a text saying the bike was ready and that the total would be $89.99, including parts and labor. When I arrived to pick up the bike, I was told the price would actually remain $120 because they had to order "special oil." I was confused since their text clearly stated $89.99 including parts and labor. I also mentioned that I appeared to have been double-charged and tried to show the owner the charge on his phone. He refused to look, checked his computer, and said it showed only one charge and told me to contact my credit card company. Later that day, my son rode his bike and came home after about an hour saying his rear brake wasn't working. He had to slam on his front brake to stop and ended up crashing. He came home with a bruised and scraped knee and a sprained wrist that now requires him to wear a brace for a month. I immediately called the shop and was told to bring the bike back in. The owner said the issue was a "glazed rotor" and that we needed a new rotor. I declined the additional service. What's concerning is that the bike was returned to us with a rear brake that did not function properly. Instead of taking responsibility, the owner accused my son of doing wheelies, which is simply not the case. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. The pricing was inconsistent, concerns about billing were dismissed, and most importantly, the bike was returned in an unsafe condition. I would strongly recommend others double-check their work before riding

I went with the comfort bike and it was $30 for a daily rate, otherwise it would be $10 per hour, until you reach 3+ hours and it would then get charged for the daily rate. This was the best deal and still very close to the beach where bike rentals can be more expensive. You can either choose to bike to the beach area from here (Redondo, Manhattan, Torrance, Hermosa) or you can use it on a bike rack to get to your destination. My husband has his own bike rack so I just rented the comfort for the day. Conveniently located in Torrance Blvd which leads you to the Redondo Beach area ASAP. Also located by the Del Amo fashion center which is the hot spot mall for all things food and shopping. They have a separate store for bike purchase and you can always ask the staff about renting vs purchasing if you're in the market for a bike. Really easy to book with them in person, and you can also book online to save time. I would definitely recommend this shop to friends and family for day bike rental needs, whether for fun or for a planned beach and bike day! Thank you Juan and Moses for your help!

I haven't had a 'flat tire' in many decades, but it happens when you least expect it. What caused…read moreit is a mystery, because the bike wasn't being ridden, but stationary indoors. When I removed the inner tube, I discovered a puncture. The rubber liner for the rim that cushions the tube from the spokes was not worn out and still intact. I happen to have some of those 'self-adhesive, round, rubber patches' [SKABS + generic brand from TEMU] and gave them both a try. Neither of them worked, but SKABS was the better of the two options. So, this brings me to buying a new inner tube, but from where and how much do they cost these days. I drove to Walmart, but they didn't stock 20" x 3.0. A nearby bike shop that I know apparently went out of business or moved. So, I decided to do an online search for other shops in my area and located two. Torrance Bikes was the closest. I also did online shopping to get an idea of what it might cost. Walmart.com $12.15; Amazon $16.88 (for 2); TEMU (China) $12.63 (included bonus of 2 tire/rim levers for the job); TEMU (Local Warehouse) $6.72 'Lightning Deal' ($3 shipping or Free w/ $30 purchase). I drove to Torrance Bikes and it cost $15.99 for the inner tube. Although the price was more than I hoped for, I bought it because 'time is money' (i.e., convenience is a factor to consider). I didn't want to wait for delivery, nor worry that a 'porch pirate' might steal it. Torrance Bikes appears to be a small, family owned shop. Judging by their crowded inventory, e-Bikes rentals, sales, & repairs seems to be the trend. The young man that helped me was friendly & competent. The replacement inner tube is on my bike and life is good.
