Full transparency (asking questions) and good communication go a long way and keep the peace (note to everyone). I am soooo beyond grateful that he knew what was needed and took care of it all within just two days! Attentive, fast, and thorough - calling to share updates along the way. (No one likes financial surprises, so that was kind on my wallet). I would not recommend this shop…read more We were originally given an estimate for how long the repair would take, but it ended up taking significantly longer than we were told. During that time, communication was extremely poor. They rarely answer the phone and did not provide updates about the status of the bike, leaving us to repeatedly try to get information ourselves. When we finally picked up the bike, we discovered that something else was now broken that had not been an issue when we brought it in. We called the shop to explain what happened and asked them to look at it, but instead of trying to address the concern, they were dismissive and unwilling to help. What made the experience even worse was the way we were spoken to. The communication was rude and condescending rather than professional or customer-focused. Mistakes and delays happen, but good customer service means communicating with customers and taking their concerns seriously, especially when a bike comes back with a problem it didn't have before. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here. I recommend you take your business elsewhere.

Last week we dropped off my e-bike for a tune up service. I received my bike 3 days later as promised (2-3 days). The cost was a good value. After my e-bike was serviced it rode better than when it was brand new. The one thing I really don't like is having to leave my bike on the sidewalk. No one is officially tending to the bikes. They're just sitting there. They are a small operation and don't have the proper amount of space. My husband they did secure his e-bike to a parking meter when he dropped his off but he still felt uncomfortable about his bike on the sidewalk. What if someone crashes into it. We sign waivers that release them of responsibility blah blah blah. So we'd be happier if we had our bikes within the safe confines of their bike shop.

After waiting two weeks, I received a text saying the bike was ready and that the total would be $89.99, including parts and labor. When I arrived to pick up the bike, I was told the price would actually remain $120 because they had to order "special oil." I was confused since their text clearly stated $89.99 including parts and labor. I also mentioned that I appeared to have been double-charged and tried to show the owner the charge on his phone. He refused to look, checked his computer, and said it showed only one charge and told me to contact my credit card company. Later that day, my son rode his bike and came home after about an hour saying his rear brake wasn't working. He had to slam on his front brake to stop and ended up crashing. He came home with a bruised and scraped knee and a sprained wrist that now requires him to wear a brace for a month. I immediately called the shop and was told to bring the bike back in. The owner said the issue was a "glazed rotor" and that we needed a new rotor. I declined the additional service. What's concerning is that the bike was returned to us with a rear brake that did not function properly. Instead of taking responsibility, the owner accused my son of doing wheelies, which is simply not the case. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. The pricing was inconsistent, concerns about billing were dismissed, and most importantly, the bike was returned in an unsafe condition. I would strongly recommend others double-check their work before riding

The day I called Peter came right out that day and sprayed the horrible male hormone and it got her attention but she was stubborn and Peter left on vacation so then Leo took over.He went back under and sprayed this time took a video of her with her babies and we had to do 4 attempts total to get her to leave, the last night he sprayed for the last time was a little sad I have to say as she pushed the adorable babies out the opening....as they left a coyote showed up and I had to scare him off several times she grab the little ones and pulled them up the tress ...she totally knew how to handle the situation and so did all city....wont hesitate to call on them when needed again!

Nearly three years later, I received a letter from BMW extending the warranty for that exact issue. What followed was a long and pretty frustrating reimbursement process with BMW corporate. They kept asking for additional documentation and clarification from both me and the place that performed the repair. Even though I hadn't been back to Auto Werkstatt since the repair was done years ago, Kenny was kind enough to help me work through it. He pulled invoice copies, provided additional details, and sent information directly to BMW whenever they requested it. After many months of waiting, I finally received the reimbursement check, IN FULL. So while this review isn't specifically about the repair/work itself, I hope it says a lot about a shop that stands behind its work and its customers years later. Thanks again, Kenny and team.

Absolutely TERRIBLE SERVICE!! First, the technician who…read morecame to complete the inspection for the property provided a quote for the entire building to the owner and tenants. On the day of appointment, they didn't have us scheduled. Then they made adjustments to have Dax come for our appointment, since he completed the inspection and provided the quote. Once he started to do the work, he changed the price at the day of the appointment because he said to the office that he didn't give a quote for the entire building, although 3 separate tenants including the owner was given this price. There wasn't any contract or invoice sent over prior to the appointment, so this displayed faulty business. Secondly, the guys left cement residue on my outdoor mat which demonstrated the lack of care to the customers property. I informed the owner about this and he got very rude and disrespectful about the pricing issue mentioned above when that wasn't our problem. It was the technician Dax who didn't provide us with an accurate quote to be hired for the job. Lastly, the issue that was shared was in the ceiling. Dax advised that the outdoor soil needed to be treated first before they could assess the indoor ceiling issue. This didn't make any sense to me but we obliged to have the soil treated first. Well, less than 7 DAYS, the ceiling issue is back !! I informed Jason about this, and he mentioned that they couldn't come back until the full balance has been covered. Although, this was the main reason why they were hired and should have assessed the ceiling first, they are choosing to have us pay for a service that wasn't completed since the pest issue has reappeared less than 7 DAYS again!! Absolutely TERRIBLE and bad business!!

I took my bike here for new tires, based on all the 5-star reviews on Yelp. I give them 3 stars for friendliness and a welcoming vibe to customers. On things such as honesty with customers, I give them a lower score. I took my bike in about a month ago, and every now and then, I get this feeling that Jack, the owner, wasn't being all that straightforward with me. For example: 1) Jack gave me an estimate, said it would cost approx. $70 to replace both tires, but to expect an additional $10 that could get added on for _?_. He didn't specify. He just told me an extra $10 could be tacked on at the end. However, I had called in advance and talked to Ulysses on the phone and described why I needed to fix my bike. Ulysses had estimated the cost to be $32. Why the huge disparity between $32 and $70?? I think it was because when I walked in, it was so obvious I knew absolutely nothing about bikes and bike repairs, and I suspect Jack took advantage of my ignorance. Stupidly, I didn't challenge the $70 estimate. 2) Jack also said he wasn't sure the bike mechanic could fix my bike on the same day I took it in (Saturday). He said the store was slammed, and to maybe expect my bike to be finished by Tuesday. I saw one other customer in there with me. I said OK, and I left. However, I got a call about an hour later saying the bike was fixed. Really? Only an hour later, when Jack made it seem like he had a great big line of bikes to repair ahead of mine? I'm thankful it was fixed so fast, but why did he make it seem like he was going to do me a huge favor by fixing it that day, when maybe he really wasn't slammed if he fixed my bike only 1 hour later? 3) When I went back to pick up my bike, Jack of course added on the additional $10. When I asked for a breakdown, he just repeated what he told me in the beginning, and wouldn't explain the additional $10 charge. 4) I asked if I could test-ride my repaired bike just outside the store. Jack seemed offended. He agreed after much hesitation and told me to leave a driver's license with him while I made sure the new tires were completely fine. They were. 5) I took the bike home and rode it around some more to make sure it really was OK, but there was a GREAT, LOUD, HUGE GRINDING sound coming from the chain. I called Jack and explained the noise, asked him if it was normal, and whether something might have happened during the repair to cause it. He said it's "absolutely" normal for a 21-speed bike to make a GREAT, LOUD, HUGE GRINDING sound. REALLY? He said if I was really worried, I could bring it in early the following week. Obviously, he wanted to get a head start on his weekend and didn't want to take a look at my bike again. I was more offended that he told me it was ABSOLUTELY NORMAL for an extremely loud grinding sound to come from my chain. How shady is it for him to give a customer such an answer?! That is not a normal sound at all. I had to go on Youtube and diagnose the source of the sound and then fixed it myself! No thanks to Jack. Overall -- I would not bring my bike in here again. Friendly guys work here, but I got a strong feeling that Jack was taking advantage of my ignorance when it comes to bikes and charging me more for repairs and not taking my concerns seriously. I found a Specialized Bike dealer in the South Bay that also does repairs -- I'll be taking it there next time. read more

I found an ad for Bike O Rama shortly after I had bought an old mountain bike to use for commuting. Since the bike needed some replacement parts, I decided to take it over and try out the shop. Jack, the owner, was extremely helpful both with his recommendations on repairs and his general bike knowledge. I had never heard of the brand of bike I'd bought and wasn't able to find any info about it online, but Jack was able to fill me in. I was so happy with the work done on that first bike that I had two of my family member's older bikes serviced there as well. All three of them are now running perfectly and getting good use. The turnaround time for the bikes I've taken here was very quick, of the three two were ready the same day, and the third, which needed a wheel rebuild, was done the next. Even though the shop is small and also looks cramped at times, don't let that put you off, Jack really loves bikes and will take care of yours. They have a pretty diverse selection of used bikes for sale at most times if you're looking for something to ride around town, and the prices seemed good to me, but I don't have much experience buying used bikes. Lastly, they give a 30 day warranty on work done by their shop, and at the time I went it was cash only. read more

Cool little shop. Jack is a trip, but in a good, friendly way. And, Ulysses is a great tech. I had an old Barracuda A2V that was a project bike - meaning that it sat in several garages, and then a storage place until my girlfriend pulled it out and brought it to Bike-O-Rama. She gave it to me refurbished for my birthday. Those guys did a bang up job getting it up and running. My only complaint is that my derailleurs were a little off, and I had to go back a couple of times to get them tweaked. I think it is because the guys are so friendly that they chat with you while working on the bike, and maybe miss a little detail. But, this is not a deterrent. A bunch of cool, used bikes to choose from. Ulysses left for a bit, but I here he is back. Like I said, cool little shop without bullshit attitude. They made my Barracuda look like an original, and it rides great! I suggest going by for maintenance or to buy a cool used bike. They have new one too... Peace. read more

I recently visited my local bike shop seeking help with my old bicycle, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Jack was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and, most importantly, honest. While he acknowledged that purchasing another bike might be more cost-effective, he never pushed me toward that option. He understood the sentimental value I held for my bike and went the extra mile to get it back in riding condition. Throughout the process, he kept me informed about the repairs, explaining each step clearly and answering any questions I had. He genuinely cared about getting my bike back to me in working order. Jack and Francisco bring a welcoming atmosphere to the shop which is filled with a variety of bike parts and cycling accessories. My family spotted this New bike shop several times driving down Narbonne and decided we had to go check it out. We were surprised to find a whole assortment of New, Used & vintage bikes along with accessories at very economical pricing!!! The owner Jack is supper friendly. He does repairs on just about any bike as he had just serviced several various styles of bicycles waiting for their owners to pick up. I bought a few accessories for my daughter's bike at great pricing. I took my beach cruiser in for some repairs and am very pleased to have it in full working order. I totally recommend this friendly neighborhood bike shop for anyone who cares about supporting their local south bay economy and their wallets. BEWARE: This business sells dangerously defective products and refuses to stand behind them…read more I purchased a bike from this establishment that literally BROKE IN HALF during a simple 10-mile ride. I was stranded and forced to walk home carrying the broken frame myself. When I contacted the owner and provided proof of the damage, he initially refused to issue a refund and only agreed to have the manufacturer send a replacement after repeated complaints. Unbelievably, the replacement bike ALSO broke in half just a few months later. At that point, instead of taking responsibility for selling two catastrophic failures, the owner told me he had already "given me a free bike" and refused to refund me. Selling one unsafe bike is unacceptable, selling two and then blaming the customer is outrageous. This business clearly does not care about customer safety, product quality, or basic accountability. A bike frame snapping in half is not a minor issue, it is a serious safety hazard that could have caused a major injury or worse. I would strongly advise anyone considering purchasing from this establishment to take their money elsewhere unless they enjoy wasting money on dangerous products and being ignored when something goes wrong.

They fixed the chain on my road bike, cleaned it, lub, etc and did a great job. Highly recommend them.

I had been doing my research for e-bikes for a couple of weeks now and came across this place. The owner was there working on a bike, he's the one that helped us. He was nice and really trying to help us but I got my first red flag when he didn't speak to us about mileage or asked the distance my son was going to ride the bike. When I asked him what class was this bike he wasn't able to give me a direct answer. But he showed me how fast it could go and it was 30 mph. Again, me needing him to clarify because my son can only get a class 2 but he wouldn't clarify what the bike really was. And I can see why, he just builds them. Also, the bike only had one motor. In a prior e-bike store (with more professional salesmen) we were told only one kid could ride on a one motor e-bike. So I asked him since it only had one motor if only one kid max. This man said yes two kids can ride on a one motor e-bike. I did my research and no, only one kid can ride on a one motor e-bike. False information. Now I can see how if I would have purchased this bike it would have messed up quite fast. I am glad I decided to take a look at other reviews. I kept getting red flags and I'm glad I listened to my gut. Saved myself from a bad experience.

He is very honest, fair and offers quick turnaround on repairs. He has a good selection of bikes and accessories. He closes late at 7pm on weekdays as of this writing. So if you need something on your way home from work he is always available. One of the few bike shops with late hours. I highly recommend SBM Bike Shop!
