I appreciated that Dave talked me through what he was doing and how the AC unit & thermostat worked so I understood some basics of why things were not functioning correctly. It turned out there was a larger issue with the unit, and Dave was able to procure the parts and fix the unit in a timely manner. After all, generally, men think we have no idea what we are looking at, and for the most part, we don't, but I am willing to learn and want to know what is going on with my broken appliances. So I HIGHLY recommend Lee to anyone out there who doesn't know much about appliances and machines. He has been working on my Kitchen Aid Oven, works on washers and dryers, and toilets, can hang lights, and does all kinds of handy work in case you need that. He is sincere, trustworthy, has integrity, and I am incredibly grateful and blessed that Mid South sent him to me. If you need work done, I urge you to call him. Lee asked to take a look at the washer and dryer for no charge; when I was scammed off Facebook marketplace after he was done working on my oven because he could hear them making awful metal clanking sounds from the kitchen while working on the stove and told me that "Unless I wanted to burn the place down, I should absolutely under no circumstance try to run those things!" Which was, unfortunately, the sad truth. Beware of Facebook marketplace for scammers, yall; I can also give you an excellent recommendation for a ma and pa place to get your washer and Dryers for a great deal. Just send me a message. ANYWAY- I thought that was kind of him, and he VOLUNTEERED to do that! Lee has come out five times in the past month (not his fault.) Unfortunately, I was sold a lemon- eh-hem, thanks, Whirlpool... which should be replaced shortly, and we'll see how that pans out. Another thing I liked about Lee was that he didn't give me any BS and explained what was going on each time regarding what parts he was replacing and precisely what was happening every time. I appreciated that. He never condescendingly spoke to me in a way I couldn't understand, and I gained so much knowledge throughout this process. He was super honest and I appreciated that, foremost, and his integrity in his work. I could tell he wanted to get this thing working just as much as I did. I loved Heather too when I called in, she was lovely, and I would recommend Lee to anyone and everyone. Lastly, and this is important- MY DOG LOVED LEE, and man, is she picky who she likes! The photos are of the new doorbells Airstream installed for me last summer and it has already been a huge help along with the porch light in identifying and dealing with unexpected visitors (good and bad, mostly good). As for our HVAC we have had considerable work done on it over the past year, and at every step Airstream was honest, professional, and transparent with their pricing while respecting our budget and time. After the 2026 winter storm, we found that the system had been taxed significantly and Airstream has worked with us over the past few months to get it back into tip-top shape for the summer heat. Each time the work has been done efficiently and with minimal interference in our daily activities and minimal stress on our our pets. He unclogged the line, drained the pan and replaced a valve: what i thought Was a complete repair ended up not being so. When our dry wall man came to fix the ceiling, he noticed water was in the duct work connected to the unit. This should have been caught the first time, and now I've had water sitting up there for days, and had to rearrange my schedule so they could come out and correctly finish a job that should have already been done.

Nothing fancy; just clean and check the unit for the summer. That's when they came to my house and told me that my unit had over five problems, including leaking refrigerant, bad capacitors, electrical work, etc. Funny enough, their first quote was for 8k, which was to "fix these terrible problems." However, they gave me another crazier solution, to get a brand new unit, which was only 2 tons for a small house for 11k. Kid, you not. I went and got a second opinion, and as I suspected, my HVAC connections weren't the prettiest, but had no problems. The other HVAC professional also found out that they only cleaned a portion of the unit, so he installed a new disconnect, re-did my drain line, sealed my flashing, and rewashed my unit for $600 bucks. Do it at your own risk. I have never seen something like this, not even when I used to live in NY they tried to upcharge me like that.

Cameron responded to my initial inquiry promptly and provided a formal quote that stood out from the rest. Getting quotes from contractors in Tennessee can be a challenge, but Mid-South made the process straightforward. Their prices were reasonable, and Cameron answered all my questions thoroughly and promptly, so we decided to move forward with the work. I do have to mention that the day before the replacement, one of the crew members came by to inspect the ductwork, which required climbing through my attic. Unfortunately, during that process, he accidentally stepped through the ceiling, creating an 18-inch hole. This incident added a lot of extra work to the project, but Cameron, although not always the most timely communicator, took responsibility. He sourced and paid for the repairs, which included repainting the ceiling and an adjacent wall. I imagine it was an expensive mistake for him and his team. Even though I'll have to hire someone out of pocket to fix the lumpy drywall after two unsuccessful attempts from two different contractors, I'm still giving Mid-South HVAC & Electrical 5 stars, for now. The crew worked efficiently to replace the units, all while respecting our shoeless house policy, which I'm sure was inconvenient for them. The new AC is holding up well through the recent 99-degree heat, and we'll see how the furnace performs this winter. We also have a 1-year labor warranty, which I hope we won't need to use.
