I was really disappointed in this experience. I came in with a small group. The establishment itself was decent, it had that certain feel that I don't really know how to explain but I liked it. The waitress was sweet but service was very slow. They received their meals first. My meal which was more simple than theirs came 5-10 mins later. I was craving coconut shrimp and plantains so I ordered the coconut shrimp basket and a virgin piña colada. I received my drink first but pretty sure it was missing the coconut cream. It taste like it was just a really sweet coconut flavored drink with lime. Regarding my meal: my plantains were not even warm, neither was the shrimp and the fries were the hottest and best thing out of the whole meal. I ate the bit that I did because I was hungry. This was a planned outing for a birthday so I held off from eating so I had room for my meal. Yeah no... this place is a HOT MESS and I'm honestly still irritated thinking about it. We sat down, asked for water with lemon -- simple right? Tell me why she brings plain water, no lemon, and then disappears. By the time she finally brings the lemons, we already finished our drinks... and NEVER got a refill the entire time. I drive down from the north suburbs at least once every other week for this food. If you are looking for great authentic Jamaican food, this is the place. I've been to many restaurants all over the world and this is true Jamaican food here. They also have hookah $30 for 2 hours the hookah was so smooth. I tried blueberry mint it was good. They have a pool table and also bars you can walk up to. I have heard a lot of good things about this place from so many people talking about the music, poetry, and spoken word nights that happen. My husband and I came here on Saturday night. The atmosphere was great, there was a live band that did a great job when the band left it turned into a little club with 2 different DJs. My husband and I waited 30 min to be greeted by someone so we could order drinks and even then we were told that we should have ordered at the bar. After that, it took another 10 minutes to get our drinks. We finally ordered food, My husband got the coconut shrimp basket with herb fries, he said that it was okay. I order the Jerk chicken wings, what I got was not wings and it wasn't spicy like the menu stated. Overall, paying $30 to get in, $12 per drink, and $12 for the food would have been worth it if the service was better. We may be back on a different night. read more

We asked for a volume adjustment and the management did very little to fix the situation. I also had to argue with management over my food order which took too long to complete. They were bringing out the main part of my meal after everyone in my party was done eating. When I expressed displeasure management just wanted to argue with me instead of fixing the situation.
