The drinks are creative with premium liquor options. They also have 1/2 priced hookahs with a variety of flavor options. It was fairly busy and our waiter was very nice but service was a bit slower than expected. It took a while for our 3 person party's order to be taken. Well one order was taken and about 15 minute to take the rest of our orders. Otherwise the atmosphere was fun with the karaoke and everyone enjoying themselves and singing along and dancing. We were quite disappointed that the buffet and live band/entertainment were canceled. However, our server, Dawn, made up for it and ensured that our dining experience was enjoyable. I ordered the steak and eggs, but I was slightly disappointed with the portion size. The steak was only half of what I had requested, and it wasn't seasoned properly. It was also not cooked to my preferred medium-rare level; it was well done and tough. Despite this disappointing experience, I won't be deterred from dining at this restaurant again. We came for Thursday Ladies Night which included a free lemon drop shot or green tea shot. It featured a fun karaoke night as well. The place wasn't packed at all. I just felt our server was focusing on serving the other two tables around us more. He definitely forgot to come back to our table a few times through the night. It was a group of 3 of us. After we got settled in we told him we were ready to order. He came to take my one order only then vanished. He didn't take the orders of the other two ladies with me right then there. Before they were able to speak he was literally gone. We all wanted to order together. I've never experience that before. Then we had to flag him down after 15-20 mins to put the orders in. We also ordered a hookah to our table. Someone else was doing that separately but they never replaced our coals for the entire time we were there. A friend of mine had been wanting to try this place so I came here with zero expectations. We came on a Sunday, and they apparently only do buffet style on Sundays. Of all the things I tried, the French Toast was the only thing I didn't like. I think it was made from Hawaiian rolls and there wasn't any sweetness beyond that. I'm all for throwing a twist to traditional dishes, but it didn't have the taste of French toast at all. Everything else was good in my book: the Jollof rice, fried rice, plantain, shrimp, grits, catfish (although slightly salty), and the pancakes were all flavorful. Upon seeing so many great pictures and videos on social media, We made a reservation for over 15 people a week in advance for Sunday at 1 p.m. (well within their brunch hours). Our anticipation of an amazing vibe couldn't fall short of what was being displayed online... or so we thought. The ambiance is beautiful, but the brunch buffet was a BIG NEGATIVE 5 out of 10. The location was short-staffed, there was no bartender for drinks, and the brunch buffet was $30 per person--$45 with bottomless mimosas. Now of course, this seems like an amazing deal. ABSOLUTELY NOT! We would have been better off at IHOP or Denny's; at least their pancakes aren't frozen, bagged pancakes from Costco (trust me, WE KNOW THE DIFFERENCE). The buffet options included: Rasta Pasta, rice, greens, sautéed spinach, fried Swai fish (because it DEFINITELY WAS NOT CATFISH), Tyson chicken tenders, Costco frozen bagged pancakes (hard as a frisbee), hard waffle quarters with confectioners' sugar, powdered eggs (again--we know the difference) with dried parsley flakes, and precooked frozen sausage and bacon. When we asked if we could order from a regular menu, we were met with a firm NO by both a female and a male cook. Needless to say, the food that was served was something I could have pulled out of my own freezer for a fraction of the cost. Upon tasting the food, we cancelled our mimosas. I asked to speak with the owner or manager and was told no one was there. When I asked who was in charge, the sweet lady said, "I am." I proceeded to give her my complaint, she apologized and took responsibility for the service--from the lack of a bartender to the poor quality of the food. She attempted to contact the owner, both by phone and by text, and received no response for over 20 minutes. We waited patiently for a resolution and were met with: "either free mimosas or the option to order from the regular menu." Now that two hours had passed since being seated, we were not pleased with their resolution. This establishment robbed us of $560+ for poor food and poor service. If I could give Zero stars I would. Where do I start.... There was a Special Event going on inside of the entire restaurant so if you wasn't apart of the event you had to sit outside on the patio, which was pretty warm. My friend arrived first, I arrived 20 mins later and he was still waiting on his drink & appetizer order 20 mins later. The wait staff took over 15 mins to come to the table to take my drink order. It took an additional 20 mins for him to get his original drink and for me to get my drink. The wait staff apologized for the wait and said that she wouldn't charge us since our wait was so long especially my friend. His wait time doubled mine since he had order 20 mins before my arrival. Then it took the wait staff forever to come back to the table to take our dinner order. The wait staff finally brought the appetizer (fried wings) without napkins or silverware. We asked and she brought the napkins to the table after we had finished eating & had greasy fingers. She then takes the food order and highly recommended the pasta.... horrible choice!!! The presentation was nice but no taste, no flavor, no seasoning. Just a tomato based sauce with noodles & protein with Parmesan cheese melted on top. After waiting another 15 minutes or longer for the wait staff to come back to our table to check on us, I sent the pasta back and just order some wings. The wings however were pretty good. The wait staff sent the manager to our table to explain why I sent the pasta back. I explained that my intentions were not to insult the chef but the pasta lacked as I explained previously. I also explained that our service had been horrible and very slow. He apologized and said they had a comedy show happening on the inside. I had to wait another 20 or longer for the wings. We asked for water somewhere in between all of this and I didn't get it until I had to grab a random waitress that was walking by as I was about to choke on the chicken wings. I had to demand some water instantly as I was coughing. She quickly returned with the water. We then had to ask several different wait staff including the manager if they could retrieve our ticket so we could pay, no one came. We finally asked a young man that was handling some chairs if he could get our ticket. Then finally our original wait staff that we hadn't seen through out our horrible dining experience returned to the table to bring out the ticket and I assume to collect her tip. This was the absolute worst dining experience I have had since I have moved to Dallas. This entire dining experience took over 3 hours due to waiting on service...smh. No I will say although it was hot outside on the patio, the ambiance was nice. It was mostly a 30 and up crowd that was there We stayed a while and as the night progressed more people came I would still say that the majority of the people were 30+ so it's definitely a grown vibe. The only reason I didn't give five stars was because they have hookah, with good Shisha I may add, but the young lady that was running the hookah was way off her customer service game. We had to ask well over five different times to bring us coals as the coals kept burning out and she'd bring almost out coals back. When we asked for a refill, it took over 30 minutes before we had to remind her, she brought out burnt Shisha. She frustrated our chill experience. Other than that, I would recommend Cafe Nubia. And may I add the decor is perfect. It's new, modern, clean and has a beautiful aesthetic to it. They did a great job with making it look great inside and out. The live band was amazing and the guy singing exceeded all expectations from music choices to, vocal ability, to crowd engagement. Our server was kind but was not very knowledgeable about the menu as he was reading it and trying to figure things out with us. He did state he had just started back working there. He didn't check back very often so we had to flag him down anytime we needed something, also in the middle of eating some hostess came and picked up a table in the air moving it around. Unsanitary and gross being that we had our food on the table and you're picking something from the floor and having to lift it in the air. This is a mediterranean/african fusion cuisine. We had the Mac and cheese which was flavorful but was undercooked. I had the lamb gyro and fries. The fries were good but not hot and the gyro I didn't enjoy because it wasn't hot and the pita bread was soggy. Greek salad isnt something I like so I never tasted it and the option to sub would've costed more. My husband had lamb chops with veggies and spinach and mushrooms and he loved his food. But omelette and burger had no seasoning ... this was the only let down, but if you are watching your salt you will enjoy it :). We made an 8:00 PM reservation for an indoor table to celebrate a birthday with a party of 17. When we arrived, there was nowhere for us to sit, and staff told us we'd have to sit outside in the heat. We wound up moving and arranging the tables ourselves just to get settled. It took 2 hours before anyone took our order. When food finally came, much of it was cold, wrong, or missing items. We had no silverware, no water, and had to keep asking. One server was assigned to all 17 of us alone, which was totally unfair, and later the owner tried to blame her for the chaos instead of owning the management breakdown. Things got worse when we tried to pay and leave. We waited more than 4 hours total, repeatedly asking for the bill and getting the runaround. When we pressed to pay, the owner came out yelling, cursing, and even threatening to call the police over us trying to settle our tab. Security then acted aggressively; one man got in my 60-year-old grandmother's face and reached toward his gun. Completely unacceptable and unsafe. We also paid $20 for valet, only to be told we had to retrieve our own cars after all that. The parking situation was hectic from the start, and it ended just as badly. The birthday girl ended up in tears. Truly the worst dining experience of my life: unprofessional, disorganized, and unsafe. I cannot recommend this establishment. read more

My friends and I came here for lunch over the weekend and were extremely disappointed. When you look at the pictures of the food on Yelp for this place it looks really good which is why we chose it. I felt like I was at Golden Corral or something except Golden Corrals food is better. I don't think any of us liked the food at all. We just ate because we were hungry and paid 40+ for this buffet...what was worse though was the service... omg I haven't had such terrible service in a while. The place wasn't busy AT ALL. They had at least 4-6 employees running around but they only came by when we flagged them down. A buffet is easy... you just refill our waters... I think we flagged them down like 5-6 times for refills and the absolute worst part was that they'd look at our table and see that our glasses were empty and just keep their conversation going. It was rude and unprofessional. I was ready to get out of there ASAP. The only good thing I can say is that the vibes/decor were nice and it seems like it would be a cool spot for hookah but if the service is anything like what we got, then there's no point in going there for hookah either. The aesthetics and ambiance are a vibe! Not what I expected but impressed. The menu had a lot to offer but I only tried appetizers this visit. The calamari had potential, it just needed to be cooked a bit longer for the right crisp. The lamb sliders were cooked well they just lacked a little seasoning. Add a pinch more and they would've been really good. The unfortunate part of my visit was the server. I'm speaking on one individual in particular so take that into consideration. There was a particular bartender that gave poor service. It took her about 15/20 mins to acknowledge us after sitting at the bar. When she finally took our food order we asked for water. Not exaggeration it took us well over 20 mins to receive two glasses of water that ended up coming from another individual after we asked someone else for it and silverware. While we waited, we watched the bartender take about two shots with other groups, greet and make drinks for others coming to the bar, and continue to just walk past us. So either one of two things, she either didn't want to service us OR she had no interest since we did not order a drink. Either way very rude and that shifted the tone. read more

This cute little restaurant was the perfect spot for my husband's bday gathering. The servers were very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious. The drinks were cute, strong and tasty. The live music was on point! After dinner we moved outside to the patio and ordered a hookah. It was a great experience overall. We had a blast! Will definitely be back. read more
