While they couldn't help me with my request (i needed at least a 20' scope), I want to give 5 stars for the absolutely incredibly mindful and thoughtful man who answered the phone and assisted with my issue. When it was 41 degrees inside the house I was renting, Hero's came out the next afternoon and CORRECTLY diagnosed the problem and replaced the thermostat with a temporary one (per landlord's instructions). Hero's warned me that the new thermostat would not control the A/C and sure enough, three months later it was 88 degrees inside my home. Once I got the landlord's approval, Hero's was there the same day. The guys who did the actual work were young but they have had many years of supervised experience; they are enthusiastic about their job and are at the top of their game. I was so impressed with Hero's - both the work and the attitude - that when the house was sold I recommended them to the new owner. They were reliable and that they showed up on time and did the work they said they would do. But, they used a very old and broken (missing a wheel) vacuum and they even mentioned that it was on it's last legs and needed to be retired. After vacuuming out the ducts when they pulled The vacuum out dust and dirt went all over everything and we ended up with a worse situation than before we had the work done. For $430 I Would not recommend not having your ducts cleaned unless they have better equipment and a plan to keep the dust From going everywhere. read more

During our record setting heat wave, the capacitor in my heat pump gave out. I found Hero's on YELP and I'm glad I did. They were the third company I called and the first to show up (the same day, as my house climbed to 91 degrees!). They were probably 40% cheaper than the "other guys". I needed someone to check over and do maintenance for the older heat pump at the mobile home we purchased. Hero's provided me a quote via Yelp and we set up an appointment within two days via telephone. Chris called to let me know he would be delayed on a cold and rainy day. He did a thorough inspection and maintenance and let me know what would probably be the parts to cause any future problems. He also told me that an annual maintenance would undoubtedly be fine even though manufacturers recommend every six months. I appreciate knowing that Hero's is a reliable and responsive company for when I have future needs. read more

My heater went out during our latest cold snap. I called one company but the best they could do was schedule a visit three days after my call. Since it was so cold, I didn't want to wait. Called Heroes and they came out next morning. They quickly diagnosed the problem, went to pick up a new control board, returned and installed the new part, plus a thermostat that I requested. All was done quickly and professionally. Heater is now working fine, will definitely call them again when I need heating or air conditioning service. read more

I was struggling with a dated, high end heating issue that had gone way too long without general care or maintenance. I called first thing in the morning, the guys showed up in the afternoon with a great attitude and ready to work! They listened to my issues, diagnosed the issue, made sure the system was going to function reasonably well since the part needed had to be ordered. Once it arrived they scheduled a time with me, came back out and installed it without issue. I will recommend this business to anyone who asks for a referral. I'm pretty much a do-it yourselfer and determined one of my my ac units (I have two) needed a recharge of freon. Since we were having a pre-summer heat wave, I didn't feel like waiting on an order (ebay - $250.00 per 10lbs., or $25.00/lb. ) ,so I called Hero's. I chose Hero's because their website shows shows them to be patriots and and as a retired Firefighter, I appreciated that they honor police/fire. Cameron and Stephen arrived on time and were pleasant. After an inspection and diagnosis ($87.00), they determined that, guess what? My unit was low on freon. Now if you don't already know, as of 2020, R-22 (freon) is no longer allowed to be imported or manufactured in the U.S., but still remains in abundant supply nationwide because of stockpile and reclamation (Google it). However according to Cameron, freon is very scarce and Hero's is lucky to have some. As a matter of fact, it's so scarce (and after they've already pumped 2 lbs. into my system) Cameron tells me it's going to cost me $200.00 PER POUND! Then he says, "Oh, and sir, you need another .5 lb." (I wonder what homeowners on the west side of town pay for freon?) Cameron also says that even though both my ac units work perfectly fine otherwise, "they're at the end of their life cycle and you should really consider an upgrade". Uh-huh. Listen, as mentioned previously, Cameron and Stephen were pleasant. I could tell he was embarrassed to tell me that I was paying $200.00/lb for something I could buy for $25.00/lb. I didn't argue, even though I was getting the broomstick treatment. I'm sure they've been programmed and were regurgitating what the owners want them to say. But never again. I urge you to look elsewhere. Better yet, I urge you become educated about your heating and cooling systems. It isn't rocket science and you'll save yourself a butt load of money. read more

Our 29 year old central a/c unit stopped just as the temperature was approaching triple digits (of course). I was told by company after company that they were booked out 3, 4, even 6 weeks, including my regular service guy. Then I called Hero's, and got right through to the owner, Matt. He was booked, too, but he had just finished one job early and could work late that day to take a look at my system. We expected the worst because the system was so old, and we had pretty much ignored it for years. But rather than bad news, Matt found that it just needed some refrigerant, and fixed it on the spot, as well as stopping what was probably some age related leaking. I'm long overdue in doing this review, but wanted to say how much I appreciated the technicians that helped me. Having purchased a newer home and being new in the area, I had no idea what to do when my heater suddenly stopped working. These guys came right out, determined the issue (faulty part) got it ordered right away and came back to install a couple of days later when the part arrived. They also took care of the warranty issue so that I only paid (very reasonable) labor costs. Couldn't be happier with the whole experience and highly recommend Hero's Heating.
