Our heat pump went out Sunday afternoon. Temperature was over 100. Looked up HVAC service near by. Janhke H&A was local. Website offered 24 hour contact. We texted and explained problem. AI explained that weekend service was available, but it would cost more. We called back Monday at 0800. A technician, Eric arrived within an hour. He covered his shoes and checked our hvac system. He explained that the fan on our 26 year old system froze up and had to be replaced. He explained what replacement would entail and provided an estimate for the repair. Since our hvac is 26-years old we asked him about replacing whole system. Eric said he could only give us information about fixing what was broken and another tech would have to talk to us about whole hvac replacement. Bobby arrived about 2 hours later. We researched CR for recommended whole hvac replacement before Bobby arrived. We knew what CR said about quality and pricing before he arrived. Eric had briefed Bobby and he knew where everything was. He rechecked everything and discussed with us parts and labor. Bobby covered his shoes also. Replacement was expensive. CR recommended getting repairs if you could due to costs, but in our case our hvac was on its last legs. And temps in triple digits were expected. The system was top rated and the cost was reasonable. Veteran's discount were applied. And we got a hospital rated filter too. Next morning at 0800 Zack arrived within two other techs. The covered their shoes, put canvas over all the floors and by 1600 all new systems were in place, inspected and Zack provided tutorials on maintenance and use of thermostat. I recommend Janhke H&A 110% . I could not imagine more professional and considerate service. 0% financing is also available. read more

I've been using Jahnke for several years for both my Ashland properties. They are professional, prompt and curious. While I gave them 5 stars, I did have a frustration with my latest experience. My technician recommended 2 replacement parts for my AC. I asked him 3x to explain the two issues in "laymans" terms, and the young technician just didn't seem capable of doing this. He jut kept repeating himself. One replacement part had something to do with electricity going to the unit. The second replacement part related to a fan issue. I trusted that Jahnke wouldn't recommend something that I didn't need and went ahead with the replacement parts. But I truly needed a better explanation of the issues. Have lived in this 2400 sq ft single story home 50 years. Because of a br add on at other end from furnace, heating & air conditioning balance always a problem. Had crawl space evaluation of entire home and quote for needed repairs. Steve did original quote for a service call about $100. Today, he just finished 4 hours of repairs etc. and our final price was less than original quote as we did not need major trunk line replaced. Steve arrived early, worked hard in crawl spaces that are very tight, fixed a dryer vent hose break and increased the air flow to the distant bedroom. Summary: doing expert repairs in spaces I don't visit in my senior years is worth any price; however their bill was very fair and they get my full recommendation. TT read more
