Though I didn't hire them the person I talked to said it could be the defrosting program that could cause the water around the base of my HVAC. It's nice to know that not all businesses want to charge you for unnecessary appointments and are willing to let you know what the problem could be. She said that if I started to have problems with the heating then that could mean that there is something wrong. read more

Scheduled to have under my home looked at, as I was only getting half of my heat due to possible duct problems.. I left contact number because I was at work, to tell me the assessment of problem, my 22 year old son was home anyways as he did answer door when they arrived..I get home from work my son said all heat vents work..I said I received no phone call from them and my son said he did not speak with service after the fact either..so NO receipt NO info on what he found or apparently did to fix it.I lead a busy life like most, so I wait..check my email..check the mail..as alot of people give email info..but for most the old fashioned way of mail is preferable..nothing nothing..get a call from Heather that my balance of 1200.00 is due now..WHAT?? She stated work was done ..I agree yes...In talking with friends that own businesses like plumbing and electrical..this was unacceptable..1st not to notify me of potential cost before starting..2cnd not leaving a service slip of services that day with my son or taped to my door..to only expect me to pull this amount 1200.00 out of thin air..really..I wanted it looked at then quote me and let me shop around..I knew someone that would have done it for half the cost when he knew the problem...So yes..they took it upon themselves to fix it and not check with me, to even see if I could pay for it at this time...SERVICE UNACCEPTABLE COMMUNICATION UNACCEPTABLE.. read more

I called National after they were overwhelmingly recommended by folks on the Talent FB page. I could not be more pleased with National's service! I called last Sunday evening, thinking I was just going to leave a message but someone picked up and Jeff came out the following day and quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. (Blower was broken, he showed me what was making the death rattle noise, they had replacement part in stock.) Karen, the receptionist, is extremely rude and does not care about her customers. She is set in her ways, inflexible with scheduling, and is not willing to accept her own errors or bad attitude. They refuse to set appointment times in advance. When a day is set (as we have done 4 times now), if we are not at our phones right when the scheduler/technician calls--which, by the way, is right during breakfast hour and preparation for kids' school hour, our appointment day gets bumped to 1-2 weeks later. When we kindly asked for an estimated time window in advance (after the 4th attempt) stating that we would, in fact, be here all day, Karen yelled "NO YOU WON'T!". She was telling us that we wouldn't be home. When they ordered the wrong part, Karen blamed me (the customer) for actually bringing it up. I have been without my fireplace for over a month as we enter the colder season. In fact, I am renting this house, as opposed to another one, MAINLY because of the fireplace. read more

I don't know about those caustic comments by Elvin about Karen. My experience with her has been the antithesis of his, as she has always been quite pleasant and helpful. As for the the HVAC work done by National I've been dealing with them since June. The owner Carl could not have been more accommodating and patient. Because I was faced with replacing the furnace, the air conditioner and the hot water heater all at the same time, I had major concerns about costs, equipment, timing, comparing bids,etc.,etc. Early on because of my confusion and lack of knowledge about several issues Carl came up to my place three times to answer my concerns and questions and gave me the three separate bids I requested. As for National's employees, last week over a 3 day period 5 of them were here for various periods and everyone was pleasant and patient in explaining what they were doing. On top of that they uncovered deficiencies in work done by another subcontractor! Not to mention that I now have heat for the first time in six weeks. Needless to say I am so pleased with National's work and personnel and recommend them highly without reservation. read more

I couldn't be happier with National Heating's prompt, courteous, and professional service I received on short notice. They saved the day. My heat pump went out on the coldest night of the year and it was after hours. They actually answered my distress call, told me how to put the unit on emergency heat, technician Jeremiah came out the very next day to diagnose the problem, ordered a part with overnight delivery, and he had the whole thing up and running the next day. I really appreciated their prompt service, their expertise in immediately diagnosing the problem (not that easy to find) and their price was reasonable ( no exorbitant emergency charge). Very knowledgeable team, with honest pricing and excellent craftsmanship. I have used them for several custom installations and have been impressed every time. I recently had a question about a thermostat they installed 4 years ago that wasn't working correctly.
