Not wanting to wait for a table at 9pm at one of the restaurants in the Lodge the concierge recommended we walk over to Hershey Grill. We walked through the empty convention center to the hotel to the restaurant. It was after 9 and they close at 10, but we were promptly seated and our waitress brought us both water and soda (it was a HOT day in the park and we both wanted to recover a bit). He ordered the Penne Bolognese. I stole a bite and it was good. I am not crazy about fennel, which I could instantly taste in the dish, but overall was very good. I had the "Vegetarian Risotto," I use the quotes because I had them add some steak. The steak was perfectly cooked and tender, but had I known how much risotto and how good it was going to be I would have been willing to skip the steak. Definitely recommend the risotto (with or without steak). Service was good even after what looked like had been a busy evening at the restaurant. read more

This is a casual restaurant that is part of the Hershey Lodge. Ate here a week ago. Eat here periodically, usually for supper on a Sunday, with a friend. This past time we sat outside, which we had never done. It was lovely. The patio has a roof and adjoins a flower garden with a water feature. We heard the flowing water and saw lots of birds. Service was good as it has always been. The manager stopped by to check on our experience, which I appreciated. The menu is not large, but there are multiple appetizer, salad, sandwich, and entree options. This means there is a range of prices too. I love the smoked chicken cobb salad. My friend often gets the caesar salad with salmon and is pleased with that. We have had good food here in general. It's not artisan or "gourmet," but it's consistently tasty and nicely prepared. read more

My friend and I went to the Hershey Grill before the TSO concert to grab dinner. She had a coupon that she received via email for her birthday that she was planning to use so that's how we decided on one of the Hershey Hotel/Lodge restaurants. We had a reservation at 6pm and got there about 20min early. They seated us early with no issue. We were in a booth next to windows and I found the windows to be very drafty so it was a little chilly. Luckily our drink order was taken quickly and I had a white Cosmo to warm me up. The Cosmo was perfect with just enough sweet to counteract the fig vodka and lime. The menu itself was not very large but it had a variety of items which was nice. My friend settled on the risotto which was tomato based with ground pork and beef. It came with a serving big enough for two and was very tasty. I ordered the strip steak and garlic fries. The steak was cooked to medium like I had asked but it didn't have a whole lot of seasoning on it. It did have mushrooms on top that helped add some flavor but overall it just an OK steak and not worth the price IMO. The garlic fries were really good. We decided to order a dessert to share and chose the peanut butter trifle. It came out in a fairly tiny glass considering it was $7 and it was good but nothing special. The 2 biggest disappointments next to the underwhelming food were that we were seated next to a group of probably 8 adults and at least 8 kids who's kids clearly didn't know how to act in a restaurant and the parents weren't really trying to stop their behavior or quiet them. The 2nd issue came when we were brought the check. My friend wanted to use her birthday coupon and was told by waitress she couldn't because it had to be printed out. Granted the coupon did say to print it and bring it along but it had a barcode on the screen so we didnt think it really mattered. The waitress said she couldn't use it so we decided to try to find the manager to ask. We asked the waitress if she would mind getting the manager and she was like that's fine but I already asked him and he said no. We didn't believe her. Well the manager came over and we asked him and he was like if you can email it me I will gladly print it off for you and apply it. He was very polite, apologized for the confusion and got it taken care of so kudos to Dakota for that. Overall it wasn't a bad experience, just not what I expected from a Hershey run restaurant and I'm not in a hurry to go back. read more

I am staying at the lodge and decided to pop in for lunch on our first day. Both my friend and I got the chicken margherita sandwich with sweet potato fries. The pesto mayo was delicious, the chicken was cooked perfectly, and the mozzarella tasted fresh. It was delicious! I liked the atmosphere, the restaurant was clean and organized, and the employees were all welcoming and friendly. Overall great experience and we will probably be back before the end of our conference. read more

We came here for a late dinner (9pm) on a Saturday night and had no problem getting a table. The waitress called the restaurant busy, but we were one of only 4 tables being served so I found that kind of baffling. This place makes a great burger served with your choice of regular or sweet potato fries. My guy ordered the regular fries and I ordered the sweet potato fries, so I got to try both. The regular fries were definitely better. My burger was perfectly cooked and really tasty but it took a long time to get it. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed. We returned for breakfast the following morning. Again, it was easy to get a table, even on a Sunday morning, but the service was once again very sloooow, annoyingly so. We might have returned again. It was very conveniently located within Hershey Lodge and the casual atmosphere was appealing, but the slow service deterred us and several of us experienced stomach issues from the very greasy breakfast. I think they cook their eggs in bacon grease? Definitely give this place a try. As a New Yorker, I may have just been born impatient? Haha! read more

This was rated the highest in Hershey for lunch. The salad we ordered was ok but the house poppyseed salad dressing seemed more like oil, sesame and poppy seeds than anything else. I did love the turkey sandwich. It was delicious and one of the best sandwiches i have had in awhile. One person in our party ordered the salmon and I though that for the price they got a small amount of food. It was $18 for a lunch portion. I would stick with a sandwich if you eat here. read more

I wanted to take my husband to Hershey's Chocolate World when he got into town to visit me and figured going to a nearby restaurant in Hershey was a good idea. He decided this from his choices mainly because of the cheese plate. First, apparently there is a separate, closer lot for this restaurant that we did not know about, so we aimlessly wandered through the hotel to get here, but it allowed for a nice warm walk, so I won't complain about that, but it's good to know. The restaurant is pretty small with a few tables, and while it wasn't really crowded, I was glad to have reservations. The style is very cozy and warm with some really neat modern little accents - when the entry way is lit, it's quite stunning. Our table was pretty close to the ones on either side of us and I felt if I weren't as small as I am this may have been a bit uncomfortable. I found the menu to be a little strange and misleading. Under appetizers they had "choice of 3 - 27" listed, which we took to mean choice of 3 appetizers. Our waitress informed us (not really...just as we ordered asked if we meant the prix-fix 3 for 30) that it was for 3 course, which yes, there is a 3 course pick three mention above the "small plates" and it was strange that this 3 for 27 thing was written in the Small Plates category. Anyhow, that's just confusing and mostly bad graphic design, but annoying all the same. We basically came for the small plates (best sounding items on the menu) and the cheese plate so ordered 3 appetizers ...okay 4 with the cheese plate all the same. The have delicious bread that they serve with chocolate butter, herb garlic butter, and an oil and herb mixture. All three were delicious, but the chocolate butter stood out. I'd come here just for that because it's the only restaurant in Hershey that seems to have a chocolate thing like that (which brings up the question - shouldn't they be making bank on food like beef tenderloin in hershey chocolate wine sauce? or chocolate burgers? these things exist and are amazing...come on hershey...) Anyhow. The bread was great. Our cheese followed the bread quickly, maybe a bit too quickly because we weren't able to even finish a roll before it came. The cheese was the most delicious part. We got all five cheeses and were happy with each one. My favorite was the Lamb Chopper, but it's a cheese I am familiar with and got often when I lived in Cincinnati. The smokey blue paired with the honeycomb was delicious. And the other three were just a tasty. There was no sub-par cheese. I would come for the cheese alone. Our small plates ranged from great to okay. They came out at different times and the first too way too soon after the cheese - we didn't have enough room on the table and were forced to use the window sill to set things on, making it really difficult. As we ate our cheese, our food got cold. Kind of annoying. The patatas (fried potatoes with parmesan cheese with some crazy spicy tomato sauce) were okay - a bit greasy, not too flavorful, and overall, kind of like diner potatoes. I wasn't all too impressed. The BBQ Chicken Quesadilla was good - not amazing - but a solid dish with some good cheese nestled inside. The favorite was the manchego grilled cheese with smoked tomato soup - incredibly delicious. The cheese and soup went perfectly together and I wished I didn't have to share it. I may have hogged it. Oops. Overall, a good experience. I'd give it three stars, but the amazing cheese and grilled cheese/tomato soup bump it up another simply because thinking about them makes me drool a bit..... read more

I've received better service in Tennessee by the KKK....and with a reservation. Reserved dinner for 9pm. Waiter came by at 9:20pm, drinks served at 9:40pm.....they close @10pm. ...guess they really didn't want us eating dinner with them. Paid the bill. Never again. The hostess was too busy talking up the waitresses to even notice or care that we had someone elses bill sitting in front of us since we were seated and that our waiter was nowhere to be seen until we were asked for our drink order and by then ready to go elsewhere to dinner. An excellent breakfast or brunch choice in the Hershey area. The Hershey Grill (located at the Hershey Lodge) is a great spot whether you're there as a couple or with the entire family. Our server was beyond accommodating, doing everything in her power to please us. I was very impressed with the fact that she brought us a container of jalapeño corn muffins to go after we commented on how much we enjoyed them prior to our meal. The only downfall with the service is that after multiple request we still did not receive our check. The dinning area appeared to be well appointed and tidy though my group opted to dine outdoors as it was a crisp morning. The venue appeared to be elegant enough for a romantic weekend away yet family friendly as you'd expect Hershey to be. I rather enjoyed my country eggs Benedict and recommend the same to anyone visiting for breakfast. The ingredients were fresh and put together well providing a delightful country breakfast. I look forward to visiting the Hershey Grill again. My only request, faster service. Please don't forget the friendly service though! read more

I'll admit, when it comes to food, I can be a little New York pretentious. That said, I ordered what happened to be one of the best veggie burgers I've ever had. Clearly homemade, this burger was fantastic, and the restaurant was super accommodating in allowing me to swap out fries for fresh fruit. In the wonderful world of chocolate and imagination, the Hershey Grill is a little disappointing on the food and is missing that wow factor. Menu was limited with nothing different or inventive. The jalapeno creamed corn tasted like canned corn and lacked the bubbling goodness of a traditional homemade creamed corn. So who knows if they've changed the menu on here. My date had already picked what he wanted from the menu on Yelp, and they hadn't had the menu for YEARS. We informed the waitress - but who knows what she did after that, so I suggest you just don't try and hurry up the process before coming here. Grilled Salmon is what I ordered. It includes: Thai cucumber and Cilantro salad, Orange sesame jasmine rice. NASTY!!!!!!!! Ok, I'm not exactly sure which chef or if the owner thought this was a great idea to add this to the menu or put this combination together, but someone was very wrong for doing so. Ew? The salmon was the only thing I could eat. I had to take away the rest of it and get Pesto Pasta in place of that. Surprisingly that was decent. I'm sure I can't be the only one who thought that. Great food for lunch at a reasonable price. I highly recommend the parmesan garlic fries!! They are beyond delicious! The Hershey Grill also had a great kids' menu but it was very pricey. Been here a few times and I've always left impressed with the place. The atmosphere of the restaurant is classy, with high backed booth seats giving diners a more private dining experience. They also have an outdoor dining area that is really nice during the warmer months. Service is great, and the food is really delicious and fresh, I love those waffle fries! Typically, I think hotel restaurants are pricey and not such great quality, but this place is the exception. They offer a ton of sandwiches, salads, and pastas. I got the chicken margarita sandwich. It was fabulous!! The sandwich came with grilled chicken, marinated mozzarella, tomato, and a balsamic aioli. I opted for the veggies instead of fries. The veggies were drenched in oil. Came here for lunch and ordered the Hershey burger. Although it was filling the bun was pretty soggy and the meat was very thin. I'm not super picky with burgers but the most important aspects of the burger were both under satisfying. The service and atmosphere was excellent but it does tend to get very loud once the room fills up. read more

Horrible experience. We went for breakfast around 10am. It wasn't crowded at all but we waited a good 10 minutes for a seat simply because it was understaffed. Our food took 45 minutes to come out and it was evident that my daughter's scrambled eggs had been sitting under a heat lamp. I ordered gluten free pancakes that were primarily corn meal. My fault for not asking what they used instead of flour. They were not pancakes though. I sent them back and just ate my bacon since we had waited so long already. They need more staff and need to be more well informed about what they're serving. Call them Johnny Cakes and not gluten free pancakes. read more

A nice cafe at the Hershey Lodge. They serve a variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner items. I had lunch, choosing the Ahi tuna and udo noodle salad. Very nice, with seared tuna and a light sesame vinagrette. If you have time for an adult beverage, they have a great assortment of chocolate martinis (would you expect anything else?). This was highly recommended by the Hershey lodge staff and was looking forward to it. Brought my entire family and I was a bit disappointed with the food. For appetizers, we had the lettuce wraps and it looked like it came out of a jar. I must admit I am used to the Asian version of the wrap but this one was cold, very difficult to eat (who uses bib lettuce on sloppy and wet food?). For the main course I had the tuna nicoise, needless to say, I wouldn't want to eat that dish ever again. The green beans, weren't properly cleaned since you can still see the tips jutting out of the ends. The tuna looked like it just came out of a starkist can. We also had the burger and it's forgettable. The sweet potato fries were pretty good. The kids had grilled salmon (this was pretty good) and Mac and cheese (not a fan of this one, too wet and all the cheese just stays at the bottom.) I am disappointed with the food. I have eaten here several times, and my verdict has fallen from pretty good to just ok. Worth checking out, but.. On the surface, this place is one of the best in the area. The decor is classy and tasteful, and the patio is awesome. Spacious and covered with a koi pond, lush hanging plants, and an herb garden. The menu is innovative with many tempting items and a pretty great wine list. Chocolate is worked in to many menu items. The service is where things begin to slip. While the waiters are friendly and knowledgeable, they sometimes seem rushed and can leave a bit too much time without stopping in. The food is variable. I have had some meals that are great and others that I couldn't finish. The salmon was great, as are the parmesian garlic fries. The brunch is pretty good, though portions are on the small side. (Diners give way bigger omelets.) One recent lunch was simply not good... turkey burger was dry and tasteless, grilled chicken sandwich lacked seasoning, and the salad greens tasted as if it they not been washed. The tomatoes (supposedly local produce) were mealy grocery store quality in a season when spectacular heirlooms abound. It left much to be desired. Overall, if you order the right thing and the dice fall in your favor, this place can be excellent. The ambiance is great for either a business lunch or a fancy date, and the servers are generally very good. But for the price and the setting, it sometimes falls short. read more
