For the main meal, he had the fish tacos and I had the heartland chicken salad, both which were finished relatively quickly and satisfactorily! There are very few Houlihan restaurants around in Central PA. This Houlihan in Hershey is always an excellent choice for salads, burgers, and entrees. Been fan of Houlihan's since early 90's. When KOP mall location closed I was devastated, as for years my all-day shopping excursions had been refueled by fajitas, 'Shrooms, & crocks of French Onion Soup. Visiting Hershey was cautiously optimistic that I might be able to grab a sliver of that food nostalgia. 'Shrooms app. Did not disappoint! EXACTLY as I recall it. SO RARE that ANY food establishment keeps a dish on menu this long w/o in some way minimizing size, qty, or preparation. Mushrooms were thick, large, stuffed w/ herby cream cheese, crispy-coated, served w/ creamy bite of horseradish sauce. EIGHT of them, 2" in diameter. Kansas City Burger- meaty blend w/ carnitas was so intoxicating- meat juices mixed w/ crunchy sugared bacon makes your eyes roll back. Forgot about soup (could kick myself) & so disappointed Fajitas are gone from menu. PLEASE BRING THEM BACK (& the version from the 90's!) Husband loved beer selections. One complaint- fries were terrible! Dry, tasteless, Ore Ida freezer bag. This my pet peeve. Americans will accept any kind of garbage processed fry thrown on a plate. It's show night at the Hershey Theatre so we waited an hour+ for a table, but go in with that in mind & you'll be fine. They're very efficient. They also have special drinks for the shows. We had the Philly Fish House Punch which we were told has rum. Hubs didn't think it was balanced, but I thought it was delicious, citrousy. We had the crab & shrimp dip for an appetizer. It's served warm with hard baget slices with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese. I had the spicy chicken & avocado egg rolls from the appetizer menu for dinner. It comes with 6 and they have a kick. I only ate 3. I also had the loaded baked potato soup. It had to much green onion sprinkled on top, but I took that off. It was loaded with bacon & cheese. Came out piping hot & wasn't over seasoned. Went to dinner here after a day at Hershey Park. The service was very good! The long island pitchers are a bang for your buck! We ordered calamari and French onion soup for an appetizer. For entrees the ahi tuna salad and burger. The tuna on the salad was tasty but overall the flavor combination wasn't my favorite. You can never go wrong with a burger. It's a comfort food chain that's been around for something like 50 years, so everything is pretty much the way you would expect from a place where "Meatloaf No. 9" is a menu staple. Service at this location is pretty consistently good for the greater Harrisburg/Hershey area--reasonably fast and friendly but not quite what you would find in a larger market like Dallas (Denton) TX. The atmosphere is casual but can feel a bit more upscale depending on nearby events and the crowds they draw--folks dressed up for a night at the nearby Hershey Theater will make the place feel a bit more classy. read more

Honestly really disappointed. My husband and I got dinner here this last Saturday. We got the Ahi Tuna which was good. I got the grilled salmon and he got a burger. I could easily tell that it was a frozen salmon patty as it was dry and odd flavored. The green beans on the side had no seasoning, just a heaping amount of garlic. The mash potatoes were honestly the best part. My husband said his burger was okay but the bun was soggy. The only reason we are so disappointed is because it ended up being almost $100 for mediocre food and one beer and one basic mixed drink. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the host, who saw our dog and seated us outside without issue. The waiter also acknowledged our dog, took our drink and food orders, and served us wine. However, approximately 15-20 minutes into our visit, a manager approached us and informed us that dogs were not allowed in the outdoor seating area. We were told we would need to take our order to go, despite already having been served wine and having placed our food order. This abrupt change in policy, after we had already been welcomed and served, felt discriminatory very bias and deeply unfair. The lack of clear communication and consistency in your staff's handling of this situation was unacceptable. It disrupted our meal and added unnecessary stress during an already difficult time for our family. We felt singled out and disrespected, very rude and this experience has left a lasting negative impression. The calamari was ok; not very crisp and they had onions/peppers fried the same way as the calamari, so kids were confused when they bit into something unexpected. Spicy chicken and avocado egg rolls weren't bad, actually. And the mushroom and arugula flatbread was good. Chicken fetticcini alfredo was ok; the noodles were al dente but the alfredo was a lot thicker and congealed quickly even just as they were at the table; the hard bread roll was good with the sauce but if you are like me and don't like grill blackened chicken, skip this. Service was ok; server checked in a few times but then became busy away at bigger tables near us. Booths aren't as comfortable as you'd think.. sometimes I think a table would be better. Stopped in today for lunch on the patio thanks to some unused gift cards that turned up. We were seated immediately and got a nice table in the shade. Our waitress, Ella, was at our table within minutes to take our drink orders and answer our questions about the menu. We ordered drinks and our appetizer and then sat and perused the menu for our mains. We ordered the Shrooms as an appetizer and I was hesitant because I'm not a mushroom person, but my hubby is so I figured if nothing else he'd eat them. Out came these 6 deep fried mushrooms about the size of a small crab cake. Stuffed with cream cheese they were absolutely delish. I'm a convert! Our entrees were the ahi tuna tacos which were just the right blend of tangy from the sauce, crunchy from the cabbage and creamy from the ahi, and the babyback ribs that fell off the bone. We loved Houlihan's, now we like it there! I know my review is 10 years old and we've probably been here 10 times since, so I figured it was time to update things. The food is okay, not bad but not great! I don't venture far from what I usually order, the meatloaf - which comes with green beans and mashed potatoes ($18). I have ordered burgers and apps since, but they just don't hit the spot anymore. I'm not sure what's changed but they're just not what they used to be. I also feel like their pricing has gone up a lot on certain food items, which is understandable. We've also had "hit or miss" service and sometimes the hostesses are downright mean. So we don't really go out of our way to come here anymore, which is sad because we once loved coming to Houlihan's every chance that we got! read more

Nathan has been one of the best bartenders I've ever had for almost a decade. He's always very personable to chat with but even when he gets super busy at the bar let's you know he will be right with you and makes the drinks perfect. I'm a local Hershey resident so I'd almost consider him a friend and is why I keep coming back. I've liked most other employees and bartenders I've met. Drinks and food are worth coming back for. We ate dinner here after the museum and the food was a bit pricey, but tasted good and there were plenty of drink options. It's open concept seating l, so plenty of room for larger groups or a family of four. As loud as it was, it's more like a sports bar than a date location. Our service was great and the food came out reasonably fast. Portions were fine, and it was all pretty standard food and menu choices. My friend wanted to come here I can say it wasn't my first choice but I was like ok and went with it as she really wanted to come here so that we did. They were decently busy but they were on it and we were seated very quickly and had drinks in our hands in no time. We went with the avocado chicken egg rolls to share for the beginning they were yummy filled with flavor and then when you add some of that salsa onto it they became even better as that salsa was quite yummy with a good flavor they went well with the egg rolls as well as some sour cream on the side. For what I ordered next was the BBQ bacon cheeseburger it was quite yummy on its own as it had some carnitas on top of it with some onion straws and that bacon and cheese it was overall quite yummy and definitely a yummy burger all for it's own. We ordered the egg rolls which were pretty good and are main courses were the Fish and Chips and Wedge Steak Salad. Both came out promptly and hot, both were presented nicely on the plates. Happy hour specials are great but you have to sit at the bar. We were at tables served by the same people who served the bar and the happy hour prices didn't apply. The inside of the restaurant is very nice, a little chilly though. We had a little issue with who was serving us, so it took about 10 mins or so for them to even take our orders. However, our appetizer, crab and seafood dip, was delicious. The bread was nicely toasted and very crunchy and the dip was just delicious. I ordered the meatloaf and it was pretty good, it reminded me of Salisbury steak. As our dessert we order apple pie, and it was delicious! The pie was warm and the cold ice cream helped with the sweetness, and the caramel sauce brought it all together. Overall, a lovely restaurant that I would recommend. read more
