I was happy to snag a reservation for the Tasting Room at Waltz today as I planned a leisurely…read moreafternoon. I placed a reservation request in the morning, and they called me in the early afternoon to let me know there was availability, which was great. I appreciated the variety of 15 wines from which you could sample to create your tasting. My picks consisted of: -2020 Sauvignon Blanc -2020 Fusion (white) -2020 Cellar 1599 Riesling: Cellar 1599 is a Waltz label, for reference. -2018 Cellar 1599 Red Blend -2017 Baron Red I won't go into detail on my experiences with each wine, but I did have a glass (and then buy a bottle) of the Riesling. The tastings come in little tasting tubes that are basically test tubes. While some might find that unusual, I'm a science person, so I liked it! They also have a cheese board (choose one of four cheeses) with chocolate and crackers, which I added. The tasting room staff were friendly and accessible. It was a beautiful day and lots of families were out on the large lawn. Too bad there isn't a restaurant here, or it would be even more of a win. In any case, Waltz is a winner!

Sadly, we didn't have time to eat, but the menu looked enticing and the next time we are in town, we will make sure enjoy a meal. The wine we tried was decent and the beer was ok at best. Outside food and snacks were permitted for the show. While it's great they are hosting bands during the winter months, they need to invest in some noise reduction panels above and around the stage area. This enhancement would significantly improve the sound quality of the bands performing and the audience's experience. Two great qualities that we will return for in warmer months are the amazing deck and outside areas. These would be very nice areas to sit, sip, and enjoy music. One important piece of information is that location is about 15+ minutes south of Hershey off of Rt 283.

It doesn't necessarily look like that as you drive up. The only downfall is that there is only one restroom. The pricing seemed decent. I was super pleased that they had a small selection of mocktails. Their strawberry lemonade spritz wasn't too sweet or too tart! It was just right. My friends seemed to enjoy all the wine choices! Additionally, the crab pretzel was amazing!! The charcuterie boards looked worth it. Plenty of seating and a live band was set up around 6/630, but we left just as they were coming in. Highly recommend and would come back (even as a sober lady!).
