Warm honey goat cheese 10/10 Loved this! The creaminess of the goat cheese paired great with the sweetness of the honey. I liked the crispiness from frying the panko crust too. This is fantastic both with or without the crostini bread. The menu did say truffle and hot honey glaze however, I only tasted the traditional honey flavor. No heat or truffle flavors. Crab cake - single 8/10 Crab cake was good. I liked the panko crust on it. It was just a hair dry, so it really needed a sauce. However the whole grain mustard "sauce" that it came with was actually just the mustard, it was not a sauce at all- which does not pair well with the crab cake at all in my opinion- It really needed a Remoulade or aioli, just something more on the creamier side rather than straight mustard. The risotto was cooked perfectly for me, it was hard to tell what the flavor was though without reading the menu (it was lemon Parmesan). I didn't understand how the risotto got its reddish-orange color though since neither lemon or Parmesan are that color. The asparagus was cooked perfectly, and was pretty good. Center cut Filet 9/10 Ordered medium, it was cooked perfectly with a warm pink center. The mashed potatoes were super dry, they needed cream or butter or something to make them better and more flavorful. The red wine Demi was pretty good, you could definitely taste the wine and it kinda also tastes like mushrooms in a way. Asparagus again, was cooked perfect. Vanilla bean Crème brûlée 9/10 The custard was amazing- definitely a 10/10. The sugar on top is what brought me down a point because it was just so thick, it really overpowered the custard a little bit, so a thinner caramelized sugar layer would have been perfect. Chocolate Lava cake 8/10 Yummy chocolate cake with a molten lava center, paired perfectly with vanilla ice cream. I recently visited Chocolate Avenue Grill for a business meeting on a Wednesday evening and was surprised by how busy it was. Even on a weeknight, the restaurant was adequately packed, so I would strongly recommend making a reservation if you're planning to dine here. A few things to know before you go: Popular restaurant that can be quite busy, even during the work week. Reservations are a good idea, especially during dinner hours. There is a small parking lot surrounding the restaurant, as well as street parking. Both were full when I arrived. There is a free parking garage across the street behind the storefronts, which ended up being the easiest parking option. For drinks, I ordered the Peach Sangria, and it was excellent. Refreshing, flavorful, and not overly sweet, it paired nicely with dinner and was one of the highlights of the meal. For my entrée, I ordered the: Chicken Marsala Sautéed chicken breast with mushrooms in a marsala wine sauce served over house-made linguini or mashed potatoes & asparagus. Unfortunately, this dish didn't quite meet my expectations. The Marsala sauce itself was decent, but by the time the meal arrived, the linguini was somewhat cold. As a result, the noodles had begun to harden and stick together, which affected the overall experience. Considering the price point, I didn't feel the dish offered good value, and it's not something I would order again. That said, the restaurant's popularity, lively atmosphere, and excellent sangria make me interested in returning. I'd be curious to try some of the other menu offerings on a future visit, as there were several dishes that looked appealing. Overall, while my entrée was disappointing, the atmosphere and drink selection were enough that I'd be willing to give Chocolate Avenue Grill another chance. read more

I never write reviews, BUT this place exceeded our expectations in every way. We had spent seven hours driving to Hershey that morning, and then most of the day in the amusement park, and more than anything we just wanted some good-no fuss food at the end of the day. My husband and I managed to snag two bar seats (Patty was our bartender - extremely personable). We split a peach & watermelon salad to start, because today had been HOT and were in need of something refreshing. 10/10. We each had the steak frites, and honest to God, it may have been the best one I've ever had. The sauce on top was SO good! We ended with an espresso martini, which was also perfect! I had a cup of some spicy Spanish chicken soup and it was excellent! It had just the right amount of flavor and spice with mini tortilla strips as a garnish. As an entree I had a bacon cheeseburger with barbecue sauce. Of course I don't remember the name of the burger, but it was distinct and they only had three options. It came with lots of fries and I couldn't finish the whole thing. Easily a quarter pound of meat. I was able to get to get the burger ordered the way I liked it (Medium) and it was cooked perfectly! The meal was so much I had to take some home. Parking: there was ample parking and the logical parking lot; i.e. one way in and one way out. When we didn't get in town in time for lunch at Hershey Pantry, I looked up alternatives here on Yelp. We considered familiar chains like Red Robin but I heard it got really crowded. I saw there wasn't much of a wait at Chocolate Ave Grill. Turned out we did have a wait of 30 minutes but it went quickly! This was peak dinner time, 5:30. The place was fancier than I expected but a laidback vibe and not noisy! The food was fabulous! The homemade pasta was amazing - I could really taste the difference. I had the peach and watermelon salad with grilled salmon. It was so light and refreshing but also filling. My son had the lobster roll and it was fantastic. Everyone said the fries were good as well. We made a reservation two weeks in advance (highly recommended), and were seated promptly. It was 100 degrees out and thankfully they had seats inside for us! We each ordered our entrees and decided to share a Gorgonzola salad (I should have taken a photo of that salad - I dream of that salad). I ordered the tender bites, which came with mashed potatoes and broccoli. I subbed out the mushroom sauce for their peppercorn sauce and it was delicious! The wife had their scallops with risotto and said it was fantastic (I don't eat seafood). At just under $75 for both of us, it's definitely not somewhere we'll eat at often, but we will return! We did not end with dessert because we were stuffed. We had no issues with anything and service was fine. I was pleasantly surprised at The Grill! I walked in expecting to get a decent burger and instead I got a really good one, medium temp done correctly. Just a simple cheeseburger but really good! This restaurant came highly recommended by the staff at the Hershey Story Museum, and it's just a short walk, literally a block from the museum, so we decided to support a local spot. This is now one of my favorite restaurants in PA! I visited for the first time despite living in the area for a few years now. They weren't super busy around 6 pm on a Sunday evening and we were seated immediately. We ordered the fried brussel sprouts with hot honey for app and it was delicious! We devoured it immediately, hence no picture. For entrees we got the lobster a la vodka (sub pappardelle for spaghetti), the lobster roll, and the Mexican street corn risotto with salmon and avocado. These were phenomenal. My husband is a fiend for lobster rolls and said this is the best one he's ever had here. We loved the pasta and were happy we got the pappardelle substitution. The pasta had a ton of lobster in it - so did the lobster roll. We were shocked and impressed. The street corn risotto was good and the salmon was perfectly cooked. We wouldn't add the avocado next time, since it's around a $3 upcharge. The specialty cocktails were beautiful and so good! We wanted to try the crème brûlée for dessert but it's made in advance and sometimes they sell out of it. Next time!! It was a little busy when we first got there so we decided to get a couple drinks at the bar. They had a lot of local brewery options that tasted amazing. The server we were sat with was extremely friendly. She was happy to talk with us and even cracked a few jokes with us as she was passing by on her way to other tables. The restaurant has a very casual and comforting vibe, letting a bright natural light shine through the windows. It has lots of indoor, outdoor, and bar seating. Ambiance rate 7/10. My boyfriend and I ordered: 1. Large Garlic Parmesan Fries w/ Truffle Oil: These fries had a generous amount of truffle oil. Some were soft while others were crispy. I loved the garlic aioli on the side! However, for a large size, the portion was kind of small. Rate 8/10. 2. Lobster A La Vodka: This dish was incredible! It had great flavor and had a great amount of lobster. Although the vodka sauce didn't taste like your typical vodka sauce, it was still delicious. Rate 9/10. 3. Bistro Stroganoff: This entrée was so yummy and had a delectable taste. The sliced tender was cooked perfectly to my liking, and had great flavor. Although this dish didn't include sour cream like how it's classically made, it still tasted great. Rate 8/10. The staff was friendly however, the service was a little slow. It took almost 30 minutes for our appetizer to come. Service/staff rate 7/10. The prices for the dishes were fairly priced, and it was great that the drinks were bottomless. It was also nice they offered a 10% off discount for first responders/military personnel. However, it was only applicable to one entrée of your choosing, rather than the entire bill.
