So this place is now known as the Lava Express car wash and for my first experience I noticed that there's only one person working and there should one other person that needs to be working to help him out. For people that are signing up for the unlimited it holds up the line because the guy has to go in the office, grab the paperwork bring it back to the customer for the customer to fill out, then he has to explain everything by himself. It would be great if another person could be power washing the car while he's explaining then it would not hold up the line. So the process is you pay before you get in the line to get the car wash at a automated pay machine. Then you get in line and then once it's FINALLY your turn the man asks if you would like a dash wipe and then proceeds to power wash your vehicle with a soapy solution then walks around with a scrubby to scrub your car then power washes again, and THEN you go through the machine. It's a time consuming process, so I recommend that you allow 30 minutes for this whole process when it should really only take 15 minutes if there was someone helping this poor one man show. read more

Love the location and the cost is reasonable. Unfortunately, the machine seems to miss several sections on both of our cars. They will allow you to go back through again if there's a problem. My fave car wash is in Eugene and they hand dry for the same price. I'll just have to be patient for my days in Eugene. read more

Now know as LAVA car wash, this has got to be the slowest car wash ever. I have a monthly subscription which I feel isn't as beneficial as it could be, because half the time I drive by to go to the car wash it is so busy and backed up I end up not even going through. Normally I wouldn't think too much of getting in line and waiting, but knowing this place and the fact that if there's been times where I've had 4 cars in front of me, it takes more than 20-25 minutes, there's no way I'd sit there for how ever long it'd take to go through when it's super busy. I appreciate the "hand wash" at the start, but even others I've been to that does that, it still doesn't take as long. The past few months I've been coming here there's been only 1 guy working (poor guy seems to be the only one ever working no matter what time of the day!). He's working hard, but it'd be nice to see them get more help to move things along! read more

I use the car wash regularly as it's close to home, inexpensive and is conveniently drive through. I've always had good experiences up until the last few times I've gone. Lately, it seems like my car comes out still dirty. I went this morning and came out with bird poop still on my back window and a fair amount of dirt left on my front grill. This is after the initial "scrub down" by staff before entering the actual wash. I mean, it's only $13, I don't expect it to look detailed. But it would be nice to at least have the surface clean... read more

Disappointing. I have been a loyal customer for several years of this car wash before it changed to Lava. Always bought a premium wash card with 5 washes on it. Always was satisfied with the service and the results. Those cards didn't have a time limit on them and I could make the card last 1 month or many months. I have used all the washes on that card and today I had use the new Lava wash with the automated purchase system. It wouldn't take my credit card and options were not explained very well with details. So I just bought the single least expensive wash and paid cash. Now with Lava, it appears that the card is not for a specific number of washes over any period of time, but rather a card that must be used within a certain length of time (which doesn't work for me). Will just go to another car wash with options that work better for me. read more

Paid $13 for a car wash that didn't get the bottom of my windshield or the top of my back window clean this place used to be the best car wash in Albany not anymore, I'll go to Corvallis to get my car wash while I coming home from work from now on this is terrible, slow, expensive and employees would rather chitchat with their friends hanging out at the job then to pay attention to how clean my vehicle is getting. Employee was working alone and didn't have time to prep my vehicle properly for the wash and it didn't rinse all the soap off which when dry looks smudge and foggy. This car wash gets a D- read more

Place was empty on a Saturday at 330 pm. Does a nice job on the car, wish the water was removed a little better with the blowers.

**Only use them if you like overpaying.** Our sliding van door wouldn't lock, so we were calling all over town to find someone to get us in right away. I thought I was fortunate to find someone who could look at it the next day. There was a reason for this! They charged us $1054 for a latch assembly (about $640 for a part that cost only about $330 - we checked after we picked up the car). They also charged us $120 to confirm the assembly was the problem (I think it was kind of obvious since it was just that door) + $240 for the install. In addition to this expensive repair, they tried to talk me into an extra $500 in maintenance. As if they would ever be given more of our hard-earned money. Seriously, disgusting. read more

Watch out for this one. My daughter bought her car at Hertz and had a service contract. In order to have her service contract honored they told her she had to purchase all of their recommended services. This was about 1500 to change the air filter, spark plugs and the fluids in the car. Must be some really great radiator fluid. Apparently it took them an hour to replace four spark plugs which meant that 125 in labor to change four spark plugs. also watch out for anything named diamond as in the diamond fuel service - kit number 1 = 74.95 Kit number 2 = 89.95 Hazardous materials fee 2.50 and labor = 283.50. You can't make this stuff up. Also while in their shop another part "just stopped working" and that was an additional 574 in parts and labor for that little Ooops. read more

My 87 year old mother recently went here to get an oil change. They charged her $70 for an oil change and what really gets me going on a one star rating is that they told her she needed her battery terminals cleaned. They charged her $15 for a cleaning kit and $21 to do the work. So, $36 total to clean a couple terminals. This sure seems to me like they were taking advantage of a 87 year old woman who would say yes to any recommendation. That is half way to buying a new battery at Costco, which would be a better value at twice the price. On her total bill they did give her a $10 discount to make her feel better... sheesh...sad... read more

I've had positive experiences with Hertz Auto Sales, as well as their service department. But I'm really focusing on their carwash tonight. I went there tonight to get some of the winter grime off my truck, and was thoroughly impressed by the only staff working. Not only was he running every aspect of the carwash by himself, but it was almost closing time and he paid much attention to detail in washing all the vehicles in line.
