I rented a car for Friday for my GrandFathers funeral. They called this morning before 9am to tell me I had no car. An hour later I get an email confirming my reservation so I called back to confirm. The same lady Trinity, proceeded to tell me to stop calling cause she has no cars. I asked for a manager but SHES THE ONLY ONE. I emailed the chat box and they confirmed I had a car. I've been ran around in circles all morning on top of everything I'm going through. After I said I would leave a BBB review they cancelled my reservation. Do not rent a car from them because they'll cancel you right before with no other option. Please go literally ANYWHERE else but here for your car rental needs. I had a truly God awful experience here. I traveled here from out of state because my mom had surgery and a chemo treatment and will be in the hospital for a couple weeks recovering. She very sweetly offered to pay for a rental car to make my time here easier, as I would need a vehicle while staying close to the hospital up in Louisville to be with her while my brother stayed in Bowling Green caring for our dad who has Alzheimer's and needs support and care. My mom booked online through a separate agency that is affiliated with Hertz. Payments were processed and I had all the confirmation information, as she had it put in my name. My brother took me to pick up the vehicle and we were told by the employee working there that morning that they don't have access to the rental information because their systems didn't connect? It was very confusing and the employee said that she knows it's a bad system and wouldn't be able to help--she tried to contact the sister-agency that we booked through and were told that my mom would need to request a refund online, pay a cancellation fee, then I would need to book it again then and there on my card. My brother and I asked the employee if she could check with a manager regarding this issue, and after quite some time she was able to get ahold of him on the phone and be given access to the reservation information. This process took over an hour to resolve. Because of this error on their part and the lengthy time we spent there, we missed out on having an early Christmas breakfast as a family before my mom and I would need to leave to take her to Louisville to begin her prep for the surgery and chemo. This would be our only opportunity to be together as a family and celebrate the holiday before my mom's procedure, as my brother and I both live in separate states from them. I hoped the return would be easier, but there was another hiccup. I returned the vehicle in perfect condition with the gas tank filled to the correct level as when I first picked it up, then was told by another employee that they aren't able to close out the rental. I asked why and she said that she isn't able to access it and would need to reach out to someone to take care of it. I asked if I would receive confirmation that it was completed and closed, as well as confirmed that I wouldn't be charged any additional fees and would get the deposit back. I was told that I would receive a call as soon as they completed it. I asked for an email confirmation as well and verified my contact information with the employee. I never received a call. I did get an email I have NEVER written a review like this in my entire life (millennial who understands that sometimes things happen), but this was such a horrible experience and it cost me precious limited time with my family during a really heartbreaking season for us. Their "solution" or way of apologizing was giving me a $50 off coupon for a future rental--not discounting our rental cost, or the cost for insurance that we had included. I really wish I could give them zero stars. I'm never renting anything from Hertz again and will advise others not to as well. read more

This location is a joke, rude and useless staff that lack any sense of professionalism. All the previous reviews are 100 percent accurate, the staff here is amateur hour... it's a wonder this branch even stays in business. I'll be filing complaints with corporate, the best thing they can do is fire their front desk staff and rehire competent folks. Do yourself a favor and go with a rental company that does a better job screening their employees and actually makes them do their job. read more

Their phone answering sh literally doesn't work. So when you need to contact them you literally have to drive there.

I booked a 12:00pm pick up and arrived at 12:03. Then I'm informed they close at noon. Why would you allow for a noon pick up if you close at noon? This is a scam. I showed up right on time. The smaller economy size car I had reserved had not been cleaned . Rather than making me wait an hour, they gave me a large SUV. This "Complementary Upgrade" was a nice surprise except it cost me an extra $30 gas over a long trip. Also the tank was only 3/4 full at pick up, costing me another $15 to fill the tank at return. Never rent from Hertz on Scottsville Road in Bowling Green, KY. We made a reservation online 4 days ahead of time and had it paid for in full. At pickup this morning, first they didnt have our compact car. They upgraded us at no charge to an Expedition. Thats nice, but it costs about $70 to fill up the tank and gets horrible gas mileage. Then they needed our card to access other fees and a $200 deposit that was never mentioned when we booked (and paid for) the car online. Long story short, we didnt rent from them and all the other rental agencies in town were sold out. So thanks to the bad business practices of Hertz, I missed a concert in Columbus and a weekend with my cousin. Thanks for nothing Hertz. You will never get our business again. I had an 8am reservation for the vehicle I chose (and paid for) online. Upon arriving at the Scottsville Rd, Bowling Green KY Hertz location, I was left to stand in the office area for at least five minutes while the associate was outside inspecting different cars. Once back inside the building, he asked for my reservation information and began processing my order...but then answered no less than seven phone calls while I stood waiting for him to complete my reservation (it may have been more than that, but I lost count after seven). At this point, he asked me where I was going, how many people were going, and for what event I was traveling (all of which were odd to me). Then the questions about insurance coverage started - all of which were very high-pressure. I have rented many cars, and have never received such high-pressure sales tactics as his. Once I was finally taken outside to inspect the car I'd be renting, I was told of a myriad of scratches and dents that were known to be on the car already. Needless to say, the whole rental process took nearly 25 minutes and I was late for work as a result. I will NEVER rent from Hertz again, nor will I recommend Hertz to my friends (or enemies). read more

All went well on renting; but on return one tire had 28# preSsure and the others 30#. Chech tire light comes on at 28#, but if driven a few miles warms uP to OK. I returned the car, could not park near door as handicap spot had rental cara in it (I use a walker); But when they checked car told me they would have to charge me to have the tire aired up one pound. Of course I hobbled out, went and got air, and returned o a couple a$$ holes that wouldn't even open door for a man with one leg and a walker. My Husband and I are on vacation from Fortlauderdale, Fl and we rented a car back home to come to BowlingGreen, Ky for Family Reunion, and had a blow out. Well come to find out our other tire was about to go as well so we took the car in to this location and Benjamin Roach and Tyler Wright plus their Crew made it So easy to swap out another vehicle that it blew our minds.
