If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Hertz clearly states on their app that they would hold my reservation for 24 hours due to flight delays and that "no action is required." My flight was delayed 8 hours (flight number was already added in the app) and could not pick up my vehicle until the morning. However, the staff member at this location tells me that I should've called and that they don't have a vehicle for me anymore. No attempt to resolve the issue. I hope everyone stays away from this place. read more

The staff at Cedar Rapids Werner goes above and beyond to help every time I have been here. Since I rent in Cedar Rapids primarily for business reasons, I have rented from this great staff dozens of times. Dealing with the reservation lines can be frustrating at times, but the local Cedar Rapids staff will go out their way to straighten things out. And after all, the staff here are fellow Rapidians, who should be treated as such. read more

First of all, impossible to find! On Center Point Road after passing under Collins Rd overpass, turn at the first right by the pool/spa place and bob mickey's auto. It is at the end of the drive way. I had a pleasant experience there albeit a wee bit divey appearance wise. Customer service was cool, calm, collected and put me in a car similar to mine while it is in the auto body shop. He explained coverages and responsibilities to me thoroughly and in laymen's terms. It was a seamless experience for me. read more

Before booking our vehicle we had some questions regarding adding additional drivers to the rental vehicle. We called customer service and were told that with the company discount we were using, we can add additional drivers at no cost. We verified this vehicle was for vacation and not work related and they said it was covered. Once we arrived to pick up our vehicle they told us that the company discount does not apply to our circumstances. We told them we talked to their customer service before booking, in which the representatives did a mock reservation on top of it, and implied once again we would receive the discount. The guy at the counter told us that the customer service number is not reliable and that they don't operate the same way as their customer service operates....what is the point of having customer service? We asked for a manger(Patrick) who then couldn't bother standing up to talk to us, leaned over and said sorry, customer service is wrong. We had other options when making our additional booking but went with Hertz for this reason. I understand misinformation happens with customer service, but why would you not honor your customers due to an error within your company. Worst experience I have ever had, the gave me a crappy car with giant dings and dents, and also it was dirty. They also charged me for insurance that wasn't needed. This is an awful place, next time I'll walk or call an uber. What a joke read more

The first thing that upset me about my trip there was the fact that I was having an emergency and needed a car that day and at no point was I told that when doing Same day pickup I had to use a credit card, i could not use a debit card or even cash. I don't like having credit cards so I only have one with a $300 limit for emergencies and that was not enough to cover it. The next thing that upset me with that whole situation was that the representative that I was working with, didn't seem to care about the situation I was in, felt no need to help me figure out my options for how I could still rent the car without a credit card, he was the least Helpful person I have ever had the misfortune to interact with, I will not be going back to hertz in the future as I had to walk to another car rental company (since I currently don't have a working car as is evident because I'm renting a car in the city that I live in) who were more than helpful to help get me a car rental. Hertz might have been cheaper, but it was more than worth it to pay the extra money for a company that actually priorities customer experience and eases the interaction read more

Horrible! I booked rental car online and checked in online. When I got to Hertz they made me recheck in and asked for all my info again. Then they informed me I could not pay with my visa debit card and must use a real credit. He said it's a new policy starting today. So I could not rent bc my reservation was not made 24 hrs in advance. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS. The young man helping me was not very friendly either. read more

I was in a recent car accident that wasn't my fault, and due to insurance purposes I had to get a rental car through them. They scared me into getting the insurance for a rental, and did not educate me properly on prices, or the fact that most car insurance companies cover it. I was told it would be around 170, and it ended up being 338! Talk about a difference! Not only was the car awful, they charged me double, plus a 50 dollar "fee". After my mom and I both spoke to them on the phone expressing our concerns we were basically told we don't care. Thanks Hertz! read more

We just had THE WORST customer service experience at your Cedar Rapids, IA location. I understand that the customer is not always right, but I also understand that the customer should be treated with respect. We rented a car for a week, but because of the experience, we returned the car less than one hour after renting it. Not only was there no "I'm sorry you had a bad experience with us," or any attempt at trying to right a wrong, but instead, we were completely dismissed by the Hertz employee. As in, the employee literally snapped at us that the computer "doesn't print off receipts for voiding the transaction," and then turned to help another customer at the desk. My husband had to ask if we were done. I don't know about anyone else, but I feel extremely uncomfortable walking out of a business with absolutely no proof that the $350 charge had been voided other than the employee's word. Never have I felt more unappreciated as a customer. We will never return to Hertz. read more
