Worst customer experience with any company I've had in a long time. Waited an hour and 20 minutes to get my car. Didn't have it cleaned when I finally was helped so I had to wait again. Poor to no response from the location manager 2 weeks prior to when rental was needed. 2nd individual attempted to assist, however, no return call to resolve issue. Everyone stated busiest time of the year to rent a vehicle, that's why I started 2 weeks out at managers recommendation a year ago. Immediate response from competitor. I see that this company hasn't had any bad reviews recently and I'd like to add. I reserved a car a week in advanced only to get a call, on the day I'm supposed to pick up from them, to say that they do not have the car that I picked out. Don't trust what the website is showing you. They don't have a fraction of the cars that are available on their lot. when I was going through the list of cars that shows available on the site they told me that it wasn't on the lot . Both workers I talked to today sounded like they were high/ just waking up(4pm btw). I don't see how you can be so lazy when you barely get any service as is. Had car when I needed it. AAA recommended this company. Worst experience every with Hertz, will never rent from them again. I had a week rental, returned early because I no longer needed the car. I still had to pay for the full week because a "contract" was signed and there was no flexibility in the "contract" for a lower price. Terrible, terrible terrible! read more

The customer service at this place is awful. I rented an expedition for spring break here. When I got home and got ready to load up I noticed the back was absolutely disgusting! Beverages spilled on the seat, crumbs all over the carpet, food under the seats and wrappers in the door compartments. When I called to complain the woman was extremely rude. I asked to speak to the manager and she claimed that she was and hung up on me. Then after dropping off the vehicle, I got charged for an extra day, even though I changed my reservations a week beforehand. Again, customer service did absolutely nothing for me! I've rented from this location multiple times over the past year--both for short weekend trips and longer-term needs--and every experience has been exceptional. I believe it is the manager who is running the show majority of the time he is the only one there, but he is truly a standout: always welcoming, efficient, and incredibly helpful. Even on the rare occasion when an issue arose, he handled it with professionalism and impressive resourcefulness, making sure everything was resolved quickly and smoothly. WARNING! DO NOT RENT FROM HERE! What a disaster! Still trying to fight for my refund and still blown away at how disgusting the office was and how unhelpful both the store and corporate were. Ordered the car through 3rd party 1. Picked up the car which smelled like somebody had smoked weed in it since it was made. 1. When I signed the contract I asked the guy helping me if there were any issues with the car. And his response was "no I would have told you". When I went back into the store to tell them how badly the car smelled I asked him if he realized how horrible the car smelled, he said "uh sometimes that happens". 2. Returned the car immediately. They had no other cars so I had to leave fast to find another car somewhere else. Side note - the oils from the weed made my clothes smell so I had to go change. I was leaving for a business trip. 3. Never got a cancellation receipt emailed to me as promised. 4. Was charged full price for rental - not Hertz fault bc I forgot to cancel the reservation through 3rd party. HERTZ DOES NOT HELP WITH THIS. 5. Trying to get my $350 refund. I never rented the car. 6. 3rd party just needs evidence I didn't rent the car! No problem right? 7. WRONG. Hertz will NOT produce anything to me that I didn't take the car. 8. Called the store. Store says call 800# 9. Called 800# they said call the store. 10. Tried talking to a manager with 800#. 11. Was told they can't show me proof that I didn't rent the car. When I asked how I was supposed to prove to the 3rd party company, they said "well I just told you you didn't". HOW DOES THAT HELP?! Opened a case with the 3rd party company to maybe hopefully get a refund. Hertz will not help me. The worst part is the store to be honest. The store is filthy. The workers are sort of grimy and unprofessional. When I asked if they could smell the weed when they brought me the car to the front of the store they were not helpful. Why they would give somebody a car that smells that terrible is beyond me. This shop needs a full overhaul or needs to be shut down. I arrived 20 mins late and they are closed and when I booked it did not say the time they closed and no one bothered to email me or call me to let me know they close while it should show in they're system I have a reservation. July 26th 8 am picked up rental. 759 am , Danae eused to open door. I have an old car so I asked Danae how to operate the cadillac escalade as I'm not familiar with the new cars. Danae aid " it's simple you'll figure it out " made me feel stupid . I sat in parking lot for 20 minutes trying to figure it out I wanted to cry. Before dropping it off tried to open gas tank door and I couldn't . I tried calling but couldn't get through. Attached a note to the key about gas tank. Was charged 293.00 for gas. Called Danae to dispute the charge and I was laughed at. read more

This Hertz location was awesome! I've never had to rent a car before, aside from family on vacations. Unfortunately I was in a car accident last week and needed a car to get me to and from work. My car insurance recommended I go through Hertz and my rental car was covered for no charge, which is quite typical. I had the rental car from Hertz for a week. Apparently this location has a good car selection but because I came in on an off day (Saturday) the selection was less than impressive. My only option was a Chevy Spark. I did, however, appreciate that I was given the option to come in on Monday to get a different car at no charge. Great customer service! Renting and returning the car was quite painless. I was always greeted with a smile and never had an issue upon walking in. No long lines. No irritated and impatient workers. Happy experience! read more

Incredibly unreasonable folks, beware fine print as they clearly prioritize finding fine-print ways to forfeit your money over providing you an actual rental car. I reserved a rental car here for my brother-in-law to pick up: I prepaid with my card and listed him as the driver. The website stated "Car rental companies require the driver to supply a credit card in his/her name in order to pick up the car." In spite of this, the employee at this location refused to rent the car to him because I was not present with my credit card (I'm in California). If we had been notified of this, we could have used his card, but we were not informed of this requirement. At that point a reasonable employee/rental company would have refunded the original reservation and created a new one for my brother-in-law matching the price. *At the very least*, they would have cancelled the reservation. Instead, this guy was very rude to my brother-in-law, refused to rent him the car, *refused to even refund the reservation*(!), and we were forced to go elsewhere with our business. Tremendously inconvenient when you're on a tight schedule to be forced elsewhere at a higher rate when you reserved a vehicle and followed all the listed requirements. I've spent over $1,500 this year on rental cars between personal and business, over 50% with Hertz, never had a problem like this. On the phone with corporate now to request a refund and make a complaint, we'll see how that goes. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I had reserved a mini van well over a month in advance. Called the day of pick up to see if we'd be able to pick up an hour early only to be told they DON'T HAVE THE VEHICLE OR ANYTHING LIKE IT! No one was going to call us and tell us, they were going to wait for us to get there to say "sorry you're SOL" for your trip that you have had planned for months! Only offered an 800 number to call to get a refund, which I've been sitting on hold waiting to talk to anyone for well over 10 minutes! I WILL NEVER USE THIS PLACE OR RECOMMEND THEM AGAIN! read more

Told me I couldn't rent a car without a credit card without a 24 hour notice which is fine. when I went to the other hertz place they told me to at the time they told me to, the place was closed and I was left stranded again After the lady told me I was all set the day before . Beware!!! Rented a car on a Saturday morning due to a car accident. I wasn't able to confirm full rental coverage with it being a weekend. The Rep forced me into insurance I didn't need saying that it had to be taken. When I called back the following Monday to advise that my insurance covered all charges they refused to remove the charges. My credit card was bill over $119. read more

They made my rental experience an easy and pleasant one, especially Meagan since I was mostly in contact with her throughout my rental days. I called around to many rental places, even other Hertz locations in this area, but Meagan gave me options that the other places didn't even choose to mention. The car I rented was clean and a pleasure to drive. If I ever need to rent a car again, I would definitely come back to see them and I highly recommend this location for other renters. I am disgusted by the service I received at this location! I had reserved a car but had apparently made a mistake while doing so. My intention was to get the car in Clinton Twp. MI and drive it home to Colorado. But I didn't realize I had not said CO was my destination while making the reservation . When I went in to pick up the car I had a lengthy discussion with JEFF about my intentions. When I returned the car to CO two days later I was charged $500.00 drop fee because it wasn't returned to the MI location. I called Jeff to try to clarify. He told me that it was my mistake and he felt no obligation to notify me that it was a mistake, He even admitted that he KNEW I was driving the car to CO (I have it on tape) but he did not notify me that the reservation was incorrect or that there would be an additional $500.00 charge He just kept repeating "You made the reservation, not me"!. While trying to talk to him about this HE HUNG UP ON ME! I immediately called back and spoke with the manager who was no help at all! Worst customer service EVER!! read more
