This is place terrible. Avoid at all cost. The worst customer service I've ever experienced. I booked a car and they gave me a Tesla with 80K miles. Completely beat up car. The battery was so degraded it would only go 90 miles on 100% charge. The staff refused to charge out the car or give me my money back and were rude about it. The acted like they were doing me a favor by getting me car at all. Hopefully they go out of business and a better rental company takes that Draper location. read more

Before the Labor Day weekend, I booked a rental to pick up a car Saturday at noon. I wasn't able to pick the car up until 1 o'clock. When I got there, they were closed for the day and since it was Labor Day weekend they wouldn't be open until the following Tuesday. I think it would've been part of their operation to contact me to make sure I was still going to pick the car up and also let me know that they closed at noon on a Saturday (which seems unusual for a car rental company). If they had done that I would pick up the car earlier. They did charged me and offered no refund. I travel quite a bit using Hertz, but I won't be using Hertz in the future. read more

I'll be avoiding this location moving forward. I booked a car for pickup at 9:00 a.m., but it won't be ready until after 10:30. The staff made me feel as though it was my fault for booking a car "after hours," and seemed completely fine dropping their level of service because of it. However, today there was somebody new (to me), Constance, behind the desk. The minute she said hi to me, I knew this was going to be a good experience. I Booked a car for noon. When I got there they told me it would not be ready until 3! I asked for any car and didn't need anything special and they said they don't control cars or bookings!!! This place needs help. I see constant turnover in their staff. We used to rent form here quite regularly but lately not as good. We tried to rent a LONG RANGE electric vehicle. However, the day of thirty minutes before pickup we're informed it's not available. We get something else with no refund. A real "take it or leave it" - I to some kind of dippy survey after we returned the car we gave us expressing plenty of mock concern but somehow just doesn't make me feel better for getting gypped. read more

I have been to this location many times, and as a business traveler, I appreciate visiting a location that values your loyalty. Every time I come in the cars are ready within a short period of time and they are flexible working with me with upgrades as such. The person I usually deal with is Christian, and he is extremely accommodating professional, and his customer service skills are exceptional. I really appreciate all of their hard work and I'm not sure why this location has some negative reviews but I've had nothing but exceptional service at this branch. read more

I rented a sprinter van from this location multiple times for my business (a different van each time). Luckily for me, I always take my own pictures and a walk around video of the vehicles I rent at pick up and drop off. The van was new with very low miles but the Previous renter had seriously damaged the roof over the windshield. The Hertz team told me the damage was documented. When I returned the van two weeks later the Hertz team acted like I had damaged the van, even filling out paperwork to that effect then lying to me about what the paper work was to try and get me to sign it (stating I damaged it), even though I repeatedly told them that's how it was at pick up and showed them my proof. Two weeks later I get an attorney demanding $5 thousand dollars to pay for the damage. My own pick up video with date and time stamp was my only saving grace and proved them to be liars. Even now you go to their website/app and they show availabilities! Now they are only getting my business because enterprise has zero availability. I became an enterprise customer because of my bad experience with Hurtz. A few hours before pick up time I get a phone call from them saying sorry we don't have a car for you. It's your fault because you booked through the website. We apologize that you're so dumb, to think that we have changed. Have a nice day sir, glad we could screw you again! I want you to know that they're nine employees, we do a lot of out-of-town travel. Each of those employees rent vehicles 2 to 3 times a month. You do the math! I'm surprised they have so much negative reviews. I had a good experience here. I was picked up by one of the workers from caliber collisions and they helped me quickly. Mike was helpful, although he was pretty busy. They do seem short staffed, however, I could tell the people who were helping me were doing their best. If you can be a bit patient with the wait, the service is good. The car that I'm renting is great although the tire pressure light is on. The car is newer than my car and spotless. Overall, I'm happy with my rental from here! read more

We used this office because our insurance suggested it. When we were put in touch with agent at the Draper office (Matt), he let us know they didn't have much available. We were offered a mini van or a Armada. We took the Armada. It was nearly 5pm Friday night and we scheduled to pick up the car at 9am the next morning. We arrived at 9am and you guessed it. No Armada. Just the mini van. The person working the desk was clueless. He tried to tell us someone extended their contract not true because Matt told us the car was sitting there and asked us to tell whoever was working they we had spoke to him about the Armada. Really long story short the lobby area is full we've been here over 45 minutes and the person that was to help us is in the back cleaning our the car they are substituting for the Armada. 6 other people waiting in the lobby and no one here to help. read more

Made reservation online through AAA and also purchased the extra 40k collision policy. Unfortunately, when I got to Hertz was told they could not rent to me on a debit card. So I guess my having AAA, the extra insurance and my own car insurance aren't good enough for them to feel "comfy" about renting me a car. I told them I'd be fine with an extra deposit but that meant I couldn't get the SUV, had to get a sedan but since that changed my reservation, I'd have to come back the next day. That isn't helpful since we planned to leave the next morning early. Too bad they leave so much cash on the table. It really doesn't take much to make good people happy. What a stupid policy. When I had credit cards, they would NOT have been in better shape if there was an issue... just sayin'. read more

Even when I called ahead and told them I'd be the first one in the morning to pick up a van because I would have people waiting for me at home, I got there and the van wasn't ready plus it had a nail on a tire. I would recommend you don't use Hurts!!!! Paid 560.00 for a Buick Regal for one week. When I decided to check out other rental companies I got a Ford Excursion for 383.00. I cancelled my rental from Hurts and they charged me 50.00 to do so. I will never use them again. read more

I am extremely disappointed with our Hertz rental experience. We made arrangements to rent a SUV on May 9th, 2017 for an upcoming camping trip. The vehicle listed was a Toyota 4Runner or similar. We scheduled the pick up time for 4pm on June 15th at the Draper Hertz location. When we arrived our vehicle was not there, evidently it was being driven down from Park City. It finally arrived 45 minutes after the agreed pick up time. I don't understand how a reservation made a month in advance was not ready. What arrived was not a Toyota 4Runner or similar, we were given a Nissan Rouge. While these crossovers may be considered an SUV, it is not comparable to a 4Runner. We questioned whether or not we would be able to fit our camping supplies and child in the vehicle. The representative informed us that a minivan would be coming in the following day, we opted to take the Rouge to attempt to fit our needed supplies and follow up the next day. (Coincidentally, the car was dirty, we found trash in the seat pockets, and the front window was covered in bird droppings) It was an extremely tight fit, which left us no room to get groceries, I called the rep on Friday the 16th, using the direct line she gave me and spoke with her about the minivan. She informed me it hadn't come in, and offered to call and see what else she could find and call me back with some options. I have still not received that call back. Poor customer service, a late pick up, and a vehicle that does not meet the description of our rental agreement. This does not leave me a happy customer. I contacted corporate who informed me I was mistaken, they glossed over the waiting time, the condition of the vehicle and dismissed me. Customer service is lacking throughout this entire company. read more

I called to other companies to check availability and let them know my situation and every one of them said that Hertz usually has that problem with reservations. Sam, the representative there said he had called the day before to let us know the vehicle wouldn't be at this location because it wasn't returned. I came to pick up my car and there was an issue with my credit card. I had to call my wife to come bring her credit card to proceed with the rental. While we were waiting for my wife to arrive, the guy at the counter helped the next customer in line. He gave the only economy car they had to him. The one that I reserved! When I asked him why he did that he said "we don't reserve cars for no-shows." WHAT? He's calling me a NO-SHOW????? Screw hertz. I'll never be using them again. We rented through Kyack for this location. The first car he gave us had a low tire and was dirty. Normally when you get a car, the rep will do the walk around with you and mark out the damage. Nope not this crew. They gave us the paperwork and said mark any damage that you see down on the paper with an X. So we did got in car and tire light was on. So we told him and nope he didn't look just said well I have this other car for you. That was older and no power anything, and same thing we did the walk around our selves. Hertz has a tendency to rent cars and then not have them available when you arrive. The manager at this particular location is extremely hostile when you express disappointment that the car you thought you had rented is not available. John hung up on me twice and then tried to explain that he was doing me a favor by letting me know that my reservation was not really a reservation but a colossal waste of time. This is a generous two stars. The pros: the kind of car I reserved was available. That's it. The cons: it smelled like it had been smoked in all year before I rented it. I was renting this truck to take my kids camping, but I couldn't because they have allergies and the smoke smell made them all sick. I returned it the next day and told the agent about it, and he was like "oh, that's too bad." Reserved a car online the same morning, reservation said car would be ready for pick up at 10 am. Arrived at the location a little after 10 am. Lobby was full of people who had been waiting for over an hour. 20 minutes after I arrived the desk clerk announced he had no cars and was getting some from airport and it would be 2 hours. People had been waiting they were frustrated so I was really surprised when desk clearly didn't respond professionally or have any answers for the frustrated people who had been there much longer than I. Called to cancel reservation and was put on hold, waited 25 minutes and person never answered the phone again. Called Hertz luxury service- they cancelled the online reservation in 10 seconds. Not a place I would recommend. I don't understand reserving cars you do not have. Wasted a lot of time and still didn't get what I needed. read more

It's 3:00, no car, substitute one is bigger but costs $200 extra deposit and it isn't even there because it's in the shop being serviced. I would NEVER use this location again! read more

We rented a car from this place and I must say these guys are super lazy. They made us check the car for any damage, when they should of done it. When we got the car the dummy light came on saying tire was low. So instead of them looking at the car they gave us another older car, that had no power anything. Again they made us inspect the car for damage, when they are suppose to do it. The car was very uncomfortable to drive, the GPS was in the way and not very user friendly. Needless to say for our inconvenience they should of gave us an upgrade instead of giving us a lesser car. This was a one way car rental to AZ. (We had a better experience in AZ on the returning side.) They are lazy and don't care about customer service. read more

AWFUL experience!!! if I could give 0 stars, i would: I got into a wreck and I needed a car asap! I made a reservation through my insurance, and I had called them four hours prior to make sure that they had a car available for me. They said they did. When I got there at 5:15 pm on Wednesday, they told me they had no cars to give me until Friday morning. AND that they had not talked to me on the phone. I had proof of calls from 1:10 pm that afternoon. Now I'm stuck without a car for a week in a place I don't know people! I told him I had a reservation, I gave him the reservation number - all for them to be like "that's not our problem because we didn't see the reservation until a half hour prior and we don't have cars". Instead of trying to understand someone's frustration, they kept trying to say "we're trying to work with you" as if I'm blowing this out of proportion. I rented a vehicle from them, not only was there a hidden service charge that I was not made aware of and had already prepaid online for everything, but suddenly there is several hundred dollar charge on top of that. But when we show up, one representative tells us we are in a Dodge Journey, but as the transaction is completing, he moves us to another rep, and then gives the car away to someone else who came in AFTER US, and we are then given a smaller car, that is WAY SMALLER! Which we were told was way smaller. When we complained about it, the said "oh they are technically the same size." When they just told us it was smaller. They refused to let me talk to the manager, because "He was unavailable for the entire business day as he was sitting in the office up front". They do not care, read the reviews of everyone else. do yourself a favor, DO NOT RENT FROM HERE! The most deplorable customer service I have ever dealt with. And then when you are upset because you were promised one thing, but then they cheat you out, they don't care and just leave it at that. So you are stuck with the problem. read more

I was in a fender bender last month. State Farm paid for a rental while my car was being repaired. When I returned the car, the system was down so they couldn't give me a final receipt but I was assured that my credit card wouldn't be charged. Well, it was charged $203 for 5 extra days! Without my permission! State Farm cut me a check for 4 days rental; Hertz is suppose to refund the remaining $40.55 because they returned it a day later. I've called over a dozen times trying to get money! It's always one excuse after another. Even the manager Allison wasn't helpful. If you have other rental options.......Take 'Em!! read more

An employee told the other person I was with "not to let me have any more sugar today..." and both employees (one of which was the manager, I believe...) continually rolled their eyes at us while we waited. The same guy left his cell phone in our rental car and made us turn around after we were well on our way out of the area. I would have shrugged all that off, but then I was charged for 2 extra days after being told no additional charges would apply, and the (same) employee we spoke with lied about speaking to us. After getting the runaround from their national answering service, I was afraid I would get the same at the local office. I was pleasantly surprised to find out how wrong I was. I will never rent from this location and probably not from Hertz ever again. I needed a one way to Spokane and the deal I found on the Hertz website was way cheaper than a flight. I was quoted for the car for only $75 and it told me the est. mileage was only going to be $15. It didn't say anything about how much per mile or that I was limited to any amount of miles. Even though the drive would be long and through the night it would be more worth it than $300 in plane tickets. Before I scheduled this rental I called the Draper location and asked specifically about the mileage charge and I was told if it was quoted that online that they would honor it. I decided to trust that so I rented the car. I had another question about the rental after I had put the reservation on and I called them up and reaffirmed the total quote and also the mileage est. and they told me I was good to go. The drive was good and the car was what you expect a rental car to be. When I got to Spokane to drop off the car I am given a bill for $245 and they tell me that they only estimated me to drive 60 miles. . . I didn't plan to rent the car and put it on a trailer to take it to Spokane so I don't know how their mileage estimator works because I put in where I wanted to drop off. Anyways, they told me that I had to contact the Draper location because they were the ones that will be billing it. When I call them I speak to the manager and he tells me that I was wrong in thinking that I wouldn't be charged mileage even though I explain what happened. Fortunately he tells me that this one time he'll only charge me what I was quoted. I was still pretty upset as he seemed as he was just giving this to me after telling me I was wrong. A few days later I look at my credit card history and I am charged $280! Even higher than the charge I wad given in Spokane. I call the Draper location again and the manager tells me that he put in the change charge request and if I wanted anything else that I should call corporate. So me not wanting to pay $200 more than I wad originally quoted, I decided to. They tell me that they don't see anything about changing the charges and after multiple calls back to them and them just transferring my calls to the Spokane and Draper locations without telling me what they're wanting me to do, I leave a message for the Draper manager to give me a call back so we can get this figured out. It's been more than a week since I left that message and I haven't heard anything. It looks like I'm going to have to bite the bullet for that charge which ended up being, after gas charges, more than plane tickets would've been. I will definitely never rent from this location ever again and this also being the second time I've been overcharged by Hertz, I probably won't give them a third chance. I do not recommend anyone to come here for a car rental. read more

DO NOT RENT FROM THE DRAPER LOCATION!! THEY ARE CROOKS! This location overcharged me. They claimed they had given me a full tank, of gas and that I had returned the car with 3/4 of a tank of gas. Even after I showed them the contract clearly stating in the handwriting of their agent that the car had 7/8th of tank when it was given to me, not a full tank, and a picture of the gas gauge showing a full 7/8th of a tank they only offered to give me a discount for my next rental and not give me my money back!! After reading the two other reviews on this site I was hesitant to rent here, but my experience was the complete opposite of what was described by Anna and Josh. I have to think that this location must be under new management - plus these other reviews are several years old. I needed to see a client on short notice and my wife had a prior engagement which necessitated the use of our car all-day, thus I needed a last-minute rental. This Hertz location is close to my office, so I when there. A guy by the name of "Ben" had us a nice compact reserved at a super-low weekend rate and we were out the door in just a few minutes. We returned the car Sunday morning and dropped the keys in the "night-slot". I called this morning (i.e. the following Monday) and again talked to Ben. He made sure we were only charged for a one-day rental and helped to expedite the clearance of the deposit-hold on our credit card. I will definitely use them again would not hesitate to recommend them. read more
