Avoid this location and actually anything to do with Hertz. Had a reservation from a month ago....I called to confirm, she put me on hold then disconnected(Dot). When I called again, twice, got voice message they were closed for holidays and will reopen Dec,. 26. Called "customer service" person named Anne. She said maybe at the airport, of course it will cost a lot more. Customer Loyalty? Gold member? I should have read the reviews before renting from this Hertz location. It's a total scam! I returned my rental car in good condition, only to get a call claiming it smelled like foul urine. This is absolutely ridiculous--no one but me was in the vehicle, and I certainly didn't urinate in it!! EW I had my husband go to the location to inspect the car with the supervisor, who conveniently said, "It must not smell anymore because we aired it out, but I'm still charging you because that's what I smelled when I got in." Excuse me?! After looking online, I found numerous reviews describing similar incidents at this location. It's clear this is a pattern, and it's completely unacceptable. This shady behavior needs to stop. Rent elsewhere unless you want to deal with false accusations and bogus charges! Corporate needs to investigate this behavior immediately and replace the management. These dishonest practices are unacceptable and reflect poorly on Hertz as a company. read more

I would advise not to rent a car from here. I should've read reviews ahead of time. I had a confirmed reservation 3 days in advance. An hour before the reservation time I receive a call that they don't have any vehicles available. They told me about other Hertz location nearby but said they wouldn't be able to transfer the reservation. I asked about refund and was told I would need to call customer service to cancel reservation. I said "great, another inconvenience for me." Service is literally just o.k. A reservation was made to this location through the Insurnace company of the person who hit my car so I can get my car fixed. The guy at the front desk (young male) didn't know about the contract the Insurnace company has with hertz. This location I assume is one of the locations that has to upload the rental agreement for a set price. There were no cars for that price and he said his manager was going to say the same thing when I asked to speak with a manager. Another person enters Hertz and begins working. I was never acknowledge as a customer. I'm in the process of getting ahold of the Insurnace company so they can deal with hertz. I asked the other male did he know when the manager comes in and he says he is the manager. Well that would've been nice to know. The young guy who was helping me initially could have said he is the manager or inform the manager to speak with me. Nothing. Just poor service all around. I could've been trying to figure it out with the manager instead I'm thinking I'm still waiting for one to arrive over 30mins later. The manager is just as oblivious. A woman comes in to return a car and she ended up getting into a verbal altercation with them about her return car. I ended getting the car that lady returned. DON'T LISTEN TO ALL THESE REVIEWS. Don't understand all the negative reviews this place gets. Everything in my experience was handled professionally, and no hidden/additional charges. Staff does their job, and I was the last person in line while Willie was handling customers, expeditiously too... all customer complaints were handled professionally and fairly and this was last 30 minutes of the store closing. I've seen how they deal with complaints and customers and out of the 5-6 people in the store none of them left upset and staff was friendly offered pregnant woman cushioning/water for being there. Made car rental process smooth. I went in there last minute and just asked for a vehicle and it took me 10 minutes price was fair. Stop attacking people doing their jobs honorably, I don't know if the staff had an overhaul but I've worked jobs for 10+ years so I know good customer service when I see it. We made a reservation to pick up a small truck to be picked up at 10AM on 9/23/24. The morning of pickup ,only 30 min before my scheduled pick up time, a lady calls and says she doesnt have a truck on site. Offers no help to find a location that does have one, as we were totally willing to go get one from another Hertz location, She tells me that i would have to call around and find one...or call the 1-800 Hertz for help. She does not offer to switch vehicle to something that might work for the same price, instead tells me a full size SUV that she has on lot would cost an additional 200. So, I call the 1800 number, and they tell me to call her back. When i call her back , no surprise she is still reluctant to problem solve and I end up canceling the reservation. Enterprise Car down the road took care of us , no problem. this location is terrible...do not rely on them if you need something specific. read more

Literally a GOD SEND!! I rented a vehicle through Hertz, when my vehicle was totalled. I loved my Ford Cross-Over and texted to find out the date I was returning my vehicle. They responded faster than the insurance company. I returned the vehicle today without a hiccup and was given a ride to my office. After so much stress and being without a vehicle for one month, Hertz employees were the most caring and helpful out of anyone. I could not even get a vehicle through ENTERPRISE. My insurance took care of the rental fees of $600.00 1 month after returning the vehicle, my card was charged $1,400!!! If I could give zero stars, I would. I thought I booked at a different location where I had been before... sigh! They did not open on time at 8 AM. As a result of the employee, the assistant manager, Aaliyah Lane, being late (I assume), the lights and air were not turned on when I entered. The trash was not emptied from the day prior, and was overflowing. The seats were all torn up where customers were supposed to wait. When I asked about any extra precautions due to the coronavirus, the employee stated that there were none. Then when the car was brought to the front I was handed the keys. The employee did not walk out with me, nor attempt to review the car with me. When I asked about this, I was told it had already been inspected. I went out to look at the car and it was dirty! When I asked about this, I was told that there wasn't anyone to wash it. I then let the employee know that I would not be renting from her, and that I would like to speak with a manager. I was told that the manager would not be in today and that she could not void it. I asked for a timeframe and was told that she communicated with the manager, and had yet to receive a response. I did not receive a timeframe. I have already called and emailed the manager... JUST WOW!!! I will NEVER rent from this location again. This Hertz is very poorly run! read more

This is the worst Hertz location I have ever dealt with. Because of this location, I will NEVER EVER do business with this company again.... I made a reservation for a compact car and when I showed up (on time) I was given every excuse possible as to why it was given away and all that was left was a pickup truck, not a huge deal. Fast forward to turning the vehicle in and I was told there would be a small charge of about $75 to drop it off in a neighboring city. One week later and I was actually charged $1153 on my original reservation of $242! After calling and having several people admit the mistake, I was told a refund would be issued. It's now been two months and I have yet to see the funds show up on my card. Stephen is dumb as a rock when you call. Shernice just gives you the runaround, saying Ryan (the manager) is always out of the office with a customer. And Ryan NEVER calls back. This office is the most poorly run Hertz location I've ever used. Only use them if you have no other option whatsoever! SCAM ARTISTS at their finest! WATCH OUT!!! read more

This was the nastiest rental car I got. Arrived when car would be ready had to wait over an hour and got a stained smoke smelling dog haired in seats. Dust in all cracks like it had never been cleaned. All they did was wipe it with Clorox before re renting? Only on person working. read more

If I could give zero stars or negative stars I would!! I wanted to write and let everyone know how utterly disappointed I was in my experience with Hertz on June 17th, 2021 at THIS LOCATION. As a family who was thoroughly looking forward to their 3 weeks summer road trip after a very stressful year and a half due to covid I can not even begin to explain how stressful it was to arrive at the Hertz car rental place at the time arrange to be told that not only did they not have the minivan we rented for our 3000-mile road trip but that they did have ANY car for us. It should be noted that we had flown from San Francisco CA, to Houston, TX for this trip,had ubered to the rental car place and were now stranded!! Our trip in ruins due to Hertz's failure to fulfill their booking. I had booked over a month in advance. I had received confirmation emails and two phone call confirmations from Hertz confirming my booking - one 24 hours in advance of arriving at the rental location. We were stranded, in a strange city, in a strange neighborhood and the Hertz employee basically shook his head and hands and said I don't have a car and there is nothing I can do for you!!! Not even an offer to pay for our now TWO uber trips to get the car (there and back). This is customer service? This is what I was paying $2000 for? It is impossible to do a family road trip without a car! I never received any compensation, I never heard from Hertz again - Oh but wait the Hertz employee did give me some parting words of wisdom as he dismissed me, my wife, and our two kids out of the office, car less in a strange place without a vacation in ruins, - A CONFIRMATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE A CAR!!!! I prepaid and was to be picked up from my hotel for a 9am reservation. That morning, I was told there was no one to come pick me up and they would call me when someone came in. (They could not give me a time) The office (Jersey Village) called and said they were coming and would be there in 15 mins. When they didn't arrive 30 to 40 mins later, I called and they said that they would check. 30 mins later, still no one. I called several times and the phone just rang and rang, then hung up. I eventually took an Uber to the closest office (34th St), which it turns out was not the right one. They transferred my reservation. Later that day, the tire light came on so I brought it back. They said the front driver tire was inflated to 48 psi (very dangerous!). This took about an hour. They told me the car was fine. I didn't drive on Tuesday. On Wednesday I was on the highway and the light came back on, so I pulled off and called. They said that "it's hot, so the tire light might come on." I don't think that is ever safe and asked to exchange the car. They said they didn't have a car and I should call locations nearby. All locations were out of cars until the afternoon. I was in the Houston museum district, so I spent my day down there and then called around again and found a location (Louisiana St) within a mile or two that had a car available. When I arrived, the computers were down, but the staff was very nice. I drove to my hotel and the car was bucking like a bronco! The shocks were completely useless. I had to stay below 45 MPH. The next morning (Thursday), I called the main Hertz number and negotiated another swap. I had to carefully drive the car to the Hobby airport (almost an hour from my hotel). The first car I was assigned was not in the space. The second one smelled awful (think baby formula left in the sun) and the oil service light was on. The third car was much better and I felt confident driving on the highway and was finally able to go to the Space Center (the whole purpose of the trip). Needless to say, spending all this time at Hertz put a serious cramp into my vacation plans. Returning the car to the airport instead of the local location near my hotel was a breeze. My final bill was about 10.00 more than I was originally expecting to pay; maybe because I didn't fill the first unsafe car with gas upon swapping it out. (I had gone about 25 miles total) I don't really know. The rate just was higher than my quoted rate. Anyway... I have never had an experience this complicated or frustrating when renting a car. I am really lucky this was a personal trip, rather than a business trip. read more

oh man these guys are LOW. I'm a Hertz Gold member made my booking came in and firstly they said they don't have my booking so no car, but then they checked their system and it was actually there. But again they don't have the car available. Secondly, with the Gold membership you get a free class upgrade, the dude asked me if I would like a lower/smaller car. Like what? Then he tried to sell me on insurance, I said no thanks it comes with my Amex platinum. So then he asks for my CC and drivers license. I give him them (I brought my Aussie license as i'm over for a week), but no deal he says it needs to be the same one on my profile or it won't except it BUT he can process a new order without the Gold membership and use the license, Like what again? So I asked him would their be a price difference and he gives me a number that is 45% more?! Like what again? At this point I said you do know I can log into my profile change and license and rebook at the same price, he said you can't. I did and then he decided to deal with other customers. What a joke. They allow drop off and pick up at body shop but if you want a copy of the bill, they tell you that you must come in....total BS. Hertz lets you download your bill online. When I found the bill online, they charged me $187.31 for gas but the vehicle was returned with the same level of gas it was provided me (less than 1/2 full). I have pics of the gauges when I picked up and when I returned and I'm disputing with credit card company....this one should be fun! read more

Ihad been renting from enterprise, and Avis, because they're the closest to where I live. I got a really good deal on Travelocity from this Hertz location. Very glad I did! For the first time in five years, I was not "downsized." My main complaint with rental car companies, is they call a midsize a full-size. They try to give you a smaller car than what you pay for. Not the case this time. I reserved a full-size, and got a full-size. No haggling. The staff was very friendly, and there were no unexpected additional charges. read more

WARNING!!! READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE RENTING FROM HERE!!! This is a terrible Hertz. Never rent from here! If you do, get EVERYTHING in writing. I rented a car from this location through insurance and when I returned it at the end of the day on a Friday the associate was helping another customer so she just told me that she could take the keys and the receipt will be emailed to me if I didn't want to wait around for the paperwork. They then kept the car in my name for 3 more days. I'm now being charged for a car that I returned ON TIME!!! I returned it the day my insurance said they'd stop paying if I had it any longer SO THAT I WOULDN'T BE CHARGED!!! The manager is completely useless and refuses to refund me because I don't have any paperwork. I don't have any paperwork because they didn't give me any!!! So I contacted the body shop next door with hopes they might still have security footage of that day. I'm filing a corporate complaint and reporting them to the better business bureau. Not pleased. Will definitely be using the Hertz in Midtown (and not this one) from now on. State Farm sent a digital reservation for our rental car. At first, it seemed the process was going to be great. The gentleman that works there called my husband to confirm the reservation. My husband told him we would be there close to their close time (but before) same day. We both left work early, and headed that way. When we got there, the guy said their computers were down so there is nothing he could do, but didn't even go look again just to see if they were back up. So, we asked what time they open in the morning and we would be back. Thank goodness I thought to ask just before we left "can you confirm you have a mid size car available?" (what our reservation was for) and he said "well, I don't right now and we close in 17 minutes, so I probably won't first thing tomorrow. You can go to any Hertz ya know".
