No one in the lobby, no one in the back, and the front door left wide open and unlocked during business hours, they open at 8AM. A rental location, full of keys and cars, standing wide open with nobody watching it. I waited. After 10 minutes I called the number posted on a sign, and the guy who answered couldn't have cared less. Rude, dismissive, and his big solution was that I could either keep waiting or cancel. He claimed he was "stuck in traffic on I-10" -- the exact road I'd just driven, where there was none. I waited another 40 minutes anyway. He never showed. Not once. An online agent finally had to cancel my reservation, which left me stranded and paying for an Uber home after this location torched an hour of my morning for nothing. I'm a President's Circle member -- Hertz's top tier -- and this is how the day went. If this is the experience they hand their best customers, I can't imagine what everyone else gets. I was in route of a 3 hour trip and needed another vehicle. I called Fifth Rent A Car and spoke to Mollie. Mollie was very helpful even while working alone. After arriving about 4:20, we were finally able to get on the road at 6:30. Yes, 2 hours to get a vehicle with only 1 other set of customers in the lobby. Once Mollie bought the car around (she had to do it all), I told her the smell was very bad in the car. The hazard light, and another light were showing on the dashboard with a warning. Even with it being late, I mentioned to Mollie about my concerns about the very, very, very dark tint on the windows. Mollie assured us the vehicle had just been cleared and was safe to drive. Since we needed it we decided to continue our trip. Fast forward, the trip - While driving the car and applying the brake, the car shook uncontrollable because it needed an alignment. We stopped to get something to eat on the Sunday, and the guy next to us asked us if we had seen the tire. I took a picture of the tire. Fifth Rent A Car ae the ones that marked the white paint around the area on the tire. Fifth Rent A Car put me and my friends in danger with this vehicle. No only the tire, the shaking, the dashboard lights, the smell and also trying to look out the side windows with the glare coming from the air condition vents blocking the view.
