A couple of months ago, I rented a car while my truck was in the shop. What I got was a complete joke. The car smelled like straight-up weed, no cleaning, no care, just handed off like that's acceptable. It had maybe 20 miles to empty, was missing a rim, and somehow they still had the nerve to charge premium prices for it. Charging top dollar for bottom-tier quality is wild. Then I gave them another chance, big mistake. Rented a car for my daughter, and the tire keeps losing air. Their solution? "Take it to Mavis." Seriously? I'm paying you, not signing up to run errands and fix your rental fleet. That's not just inconvenient, it's lazy customer service. And it gets better, their backup plan was to tell me to call back in a couple of hours to see if anyone had returned a car. So now I'm expected to sit around and hope something becomes available? Unreal. What makes it worse is that there aren't many alternatives in Niagara Falls, so customers are basically stuck dealing with this nonsense. If there were better options, I'd be gone immediately. And unfortunately, the Niagara Falls local store, Dollar General, isn't renting out cars. At this point, it's clear they don't respect their customers' time, money, or basic expectations. Overpriced, poorly maintained vehicles, and zero accountability. I'll be warning everyone I know about this location.

The manager making this announcement could have cared less about us. I proceeded to call customer service to sort this out starting the following morning, explaining I would take anything it didn't have to be what I reserved as I am on vacation with no car. 6 calls over two days each promising a manager would be calling me!!! They absolutely ruined my vacation!!! I have since written to customer support. Their reply defended the no car situation and said the customer service agents who told me I would get a call back from a manager will be reprimanded. WHAT??? I finally get a call from a manager to discuss refunding the taxi expense. It was a private number, he didn't leave a number to call back and said he would follow up with an email. Not a PEEP since that message. Don't ever book with Alamo you will definitely be disappointed on ALL levels!!!

    Update - after sending an email with all the details to review@ehi.com, the team responded within a…read moreweek and asked for car return proofs such as photos or gas receipt or flight tickets etc. After providing these details, they were able to fix the return date in the system and they were able to generate new invoice with refund for extra charged amount. Thank you so much!! I am not changing the rating though as calling thousand times to customer support and car rental starting branch, they were not able to fix it as they were just trying to reach to correct branch everytime and no one was ready to take the ownership and fix. It was just going back and forth with no outcome. ----------------- Original Post - I returned the car at this location but no one was at the counter and there was a sign posted on counter that says "we missed you. Plz drop your keys in the dropbox and we will return your car". I had returned the car on May 27th at 10AM as per the contract but this location put the wrong return date (May 31st) in the system. They charged me for 5 days instead of one day rental. And when I saw the invoice generated with these extra charges, I tried to call this location but the phone number listed is not correct. It connects to customer support. I had asked customer support to refund that extra charge and they are still waiting for this location manager to process that request. It's been more than 2 months now and I am still following up with them. This is really a bad customer service and this location is the worst one I have seen.
