Not THAT bad here LOL! I reserved an SUV Friday at 5 pm but walked in at 8 am because I wanted to get the car sooner. They checked on inventory, and happened to have an SUV at that time, and recommended I go ahead and rent vs coming back later since they do get busy at noon. I guess maybe because I was there so early, there was no one else there, but he helped me very quickly and had me with the keys in ~20 mins. Was happy with the car as well. It was actually larger than what I rented, but he didn't charge me for the upgraded size. They have cars parked on the left side of the building. If after hours, you just drop the keys into the drop box. Would use this location again! Thanks! read more

As a military spouse traveling in, it sure did feel great to be treated with dignity and respect. I've been to 3 hertz locations in the past month and Sage specifically was such a gem! She made the process of switching out my rental for a different one so easy and even helped me move my son's car seat since I'm 35 weeks pregnant. Brandon was super unhelpful and condescending. Every comment he made to me was super ugly. I waited 30 minutes for him to help the man in front of me. That guy got relatively good customer service, so I wasn't expecting any issues. I rented a gas vehicle online early in the morning, when I arrived in the afternoon he said they only had a Chevy bolt, which is an electric vehicle. When I asked about other cars he said well you made this reservation on such short notice, we only have the one car. Since I was getting an electric car all of the sudden, I asked where to charge it because I've only ever had Telsas. He said there's some different places, but I was worried about it, so I asked if I could use my T mobile coupon that allows you to drop off the EV without charging. He said those coupons are targeted ads that Hertz runs to try and see if different promotions work to get customers, so they can't be added once the reservation is made (again, I didn't rent an EV to begin with), but I was like fine. If they didn't have the car available, I should not have been able to rent it. I asked if being presidents circle did anything and he said no that's only for airports. When I gave him my ID he said he couldn't honor the reservation because my hertz account has my maiden name on it. I showed him different forms of ID with my married and maiden name, but he wouldn't take any of them. He said he couldn't cancel the reservation and he couldn't change my name. He gave me a number to call. They hung up on me twice. He gave me a different number and he said you're probably not going to be able to get anyone to pick up. It's one of the busiest days to rent a car. It's the 27th of December, someone picked up the phone after 3 minutes. They cancelled my reservation over the phone while he stared at me. I told him that every other hertz has found a way around this, and he told me they were doing something shady. They must have all been airports. I don't know what this guy has against airport hertz but it felt like a personal beef. He emphasized several times that they weren't like airport hertz, they specialize in corporate cars and cars for insurance claims/accidents. Good for you man. I'd give them 0 stars if I could. I had a pre-paid, pre-booked SUV. I arrived at scheduled pickup time on Saturday to be told they had absolutely no vehicle available for me. A family of 4 stuck 1200 miles from home and all they could say was....sorry, no Hertz in the vicinity had a vehicle available for us to get. they charged me 3,204.11 for 2 months made me drive a huge gas guzzling Truck because the EV car I got wouldn't charge and they blamed me for that even tho when I got it the bluetooth did not work it had other problems. on the truck the windshield cracked because a pebble hit it from some dumptruck. now I have to pay it.would never recommen. read more

The guys were really nice. The cars were clean. I just had gotten outside of San Antonio when the tire pressure gauge light came on. Had to drive back to get another rental as there was a nail in the tire and the discount tire guys said it had been there for awhile. But they were great and got me in another car right away. read more

They took forever to get me into my car that I rented on online. They spent the first 15 minutes looking for my reservation and then right before I thought I was finally done they told me if I used a debit card they would need a $200.00 deposit and run a credit check. None of them had name tags but the hispanic gentleman with a mustache and glasses kept huffing at puffing when I would ask them a question and couldn't answer why the price fluctuated so much from day to day. Worst experience with a topping of worst customer service. I prepaid for my rental car 3 weeks ago to pick up her at 10am, I arrived and was told by Christian that he had given my car away because I was late. I'm like excuse me, how can you give my car away when it's already paid for. I asked to speak to a manger and he advised no one else was available and that it was his General Manager who advised him to give my car to someone else. I immediately called customer service and they were also so confused on why the location did not have the vehicle since it was a prepaid for weeks ago. When the customer service rep asked to speak to Christian he refused and then began a back and forth with me and stating "well that's why you don't have a rental so deal with it! Never in my life have I experienced such horrible customer service in my life. I cannot wait til Monday to make a formal complaint against him and this location to the BBB. Do not rent here. Worst experience renting a car ever. If I could leave zero stars, I would. After sitting and watching the sales person bumble around on the computer for fifteen minutes, I was told they couldn't provide a car today. I said tomorrow would work. More bumbling and they couldn't provide a car tomorrow. I asked how soon, and they told me they couldn't provide a car for a week and the computer wouldn't allow them to search further out. They could not move a car from another location, because the other locations "are different". They literally could not provide any alternative. Lazy and unhelpful, even when guided as to how to help. A totally worthless and useless company. Avoid wasting your time trying to do business with Hertz. "Hurting" would be a better company name. Awful experience. read more

This is the worst experience I've ever had with a car rental company! If I could give zero stars I would! I was notified the day of that there were no cars available, they cannot transfer my reservation to another Hertz location and that I had to call the corporate number to get a refund. They couldn't even do that from their location! I will tell all of my friends and family to never use Hertz to rent a car ever again! I was originally in an Enterprise vehicle but had to eventually come over to Hertz because Enterprise has an issue with sedan availability and often only had trucks, SUVs and minivans available (the more expensive vehicles, surprise surprise!). The service at this location was great their fleet of cars is outdated. They tried to check me out a vehicle that someone else was returning and the guy had left food all in the front seat and basically trashed out the car. They also sprayed a cleaner in the car that made it smell like Windex for the first day and then the smell that came after could best be described as what a gym with no A/C would smell like. They did end up billing my insurance for the rental but it was more work than Enterprise and I still ended up having to come out pocket for the sales tax on the rental and having to go back thru insurance manually to get reimbursed. In the future, I would rent from Enterprise or AVIS because both have newer, better fleets than Hertz. read more

I already had a long, frustrating afternoon in this area of San Antonio, and I needed to return a rental car before this location closed at 6 PM, with yet considerable business left ahead of me before returning to Austin later that evening.. I arrived 20 minutes before closing to find a much busier than expected lobby with four customers. Fortunately, there were two counter staff, including a very beleaguered manager named Daniel. And, of course, I had a special request. Appreciate that the manager had just dealt with a very difficult customer who had a reservation for 9 AM that day and was furious when they arrived at 5:15 PM to find their car had been rented. Note that there were no cars left at the location, and mine was immediately turned around to another customer who had been waiting for a vehicle to arrive. So, I wasn't expecting much in the way of largess, but it turns out that a very weary Daniel had excellent customer service skills. On his way home, he provided the drop-off I needed. It was not planned nor arranged as it should have been, but Daniel pulled it off anyway. He even had the time to share a lot of business stories on the short trip to my destination, including the seemingly innocent day that started with 2 reservations and 4 vehicles available and ended with 45 reservations. By the end of it all thirty minutes later, Daniel became that best friend that I'll probably never see again. I even offered him money in hand for he and his wife to go out to dinner in appreciation of his above-and-beyond effort. He refused and told me it's all part of the job. As many times as I wish Yelp would allow zero star ratings, I have to say this is one time I wish they would allow six stars. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS HERTZ!!!!! They are terrible. I prebooked an L4 vehicle (7 passenger SUV). I was supposed to pick up the vehicle at noon. I called the location 3 times to let them know that I would need to pick the vehicle up closer to 4. Nobody at the location answered any of my phone calls and they did not have a VM system set up. Once I arrived, They had given the vehicle that I reserved over a week in advance to another customer. The Manager attempted to blame me but I told him I called their locations 3 times and nobody answered, then I called the main Hertz line and was told that I have a 24 hour window to retrieve my vehicle. The manager then tried to give me a vehicle that did not meet my needs, which was even more frustrating. I don't understand the purpose of prepay/reserve if you are simply going to give the customers vehicle away. Kind of defeats the purpose for those customers who know exactly what they want and have specific needs. I WILL NEVER RENT FROM THIS LOCATION EVER AGAIN. This is an over due review but please anyone take warning. Not only will this location provide terrible customer service Courtney Washington one of the managers will also leave the building for hours on end. She will tell corporate customer service one thing and the customer something else to avoid having to actually deal with a problem. She also claimed that the airport location wouldn't transfer a car, even though customer service said they could. She claimed she called and they refused, fast forward 10 hours later when we find the car she gave us can't fit infant carseats safely we call the only location open, the airport. They gladly switch cars and tell us she never called.... stay away from hertz! Even after contacting corporate headquarters they never called us back after the fact to settle what turned into 2 weeks of hell. I booked a reservation online. Because we had traveled from California, a request to be picked up was made. After waiting 10 minutes for our ride, I called the location to check on the status. Daniel answered and informed me that I should have called prior to get the ride needed. I explained that I had made the reservation online and was unaware of the expectation. I had registered online the night before to confirm the pick up and assumed that it also included the ride that was requested. Daniel initially tells me that he would send a ride as soon as he could. I get a call back telling me that our address could not be located. When I give him the zip code, he responds that we were out of his pick up area (12 miles) and another location was closer. He tells me that I would have to call them to get the reservation filled. When I asked why he couldn't take care of us he tells me that I booked it at the wrong location and I should have booked it at a site that was closer. Needless to say this was not the response I expected. Daniel came across as very unwilling to help me resolve our situation beyond calling the closer office for us. I told him his level of service was surprising and not acceptable. He basically responds that we were out of his area and having an employee out to get us for an hour was not something he would do. Basically my problem for reserving a car that was 12 miles always, instead of a closer one. As if I should have known better... living in California! I left the conversation very frustrated and felt that I had limited options. This could have been resolved simply if Daniel had taken the time to attempt at finding some solutions for us. His idea of customer service needs to be redefined. I found help from the N Hollywood location from Alice. Who also could not get us a ride in a timely manner, but found a location for me that could. All without me asking her to! If I could I would give Daniel zero stars. read more
