They were recommended by Costco for an alignment, and were very informative about additional work that needed to be done. Their waiting area is friendly, and provides what many shops do not in consideration for customers. There is not much to do in neighboring blocks, so it is not really walking distance from a restaurant. My niece was in town for husbands surgery , she needed tune up, 8 coils and 8 spark plugs. Price from auto parts store was $103.50 for all 8 . They charged her $1400.00 for parts only and over $400.00 for labor. I believe this store took advantage of her being female and from out of town. I would recommend you never to use this shop. Poor customer service I brought my vehicle in as I noted an issue with my clutch. Upon arrival, I spoke with Andrew and was informed there would be a $100 diagnostic. I agreed as I was curious myself as to what the issue could be considering I drive a manual and my shifter was not responsive. I brought the vehicle in on a Saturday and was informed the diagnostic would be completed by Monday. Diagnostic was completed Thursday of the following week. The above isn't the reason for the poor review, it's the following poor attitude given by Andrew as well as the blatant lie regarding a quote. I was informed I would receive a quote prior to service but that didn't happen. Instead, Andrew calls me on 6/29/23, and informs me my vehicle is complete. When I inquired about why was service performed without first providing me with a quote he stated "oh well because the clip used for my cabling wasn't ordered but instead found in a pan underneath my vehicle, the diagnostic quote was my quote". It sounded a little too good to be true and when I arrived, turned out to be the case. Upon arrival, I had my card ready for payment and Andrew was on the phone. When I began working with someone else, he quickly puts the other customer in hold and stated "hey, he's suppose to be charged 1.5 hrs for labor" the co-worker (while I'm standing here) literally tells Andrew you have to let customers know these things ahead of time. It amazing this his own co-worker can recognize the grievous error here. I immediately inquire about the new supposed price and it jumped from $105 to $185. Price wise, it's not terrible yet I still find myself lost on the lie he told and furthermore, why was my vehicle serviced without ever providing me with a quote on this?? When I confronted Andrew about this, he lies and states, "oh I said that over the phone". This is Texas and I record all conversations so upon leaving, I played our conversation back and no, he in fact didn't state that. He lied directly to me and in front of co-workers. I then started questioning him about the items/description of the receipt and he had nothing but sarcastic replies. I'm sure this is a good shop, but he is a terrible employee. read more

I am giving them this because the clmpsny charged me in september, her part that they never put on, I just found that out on the 13 of march when my finance company paid to have my car fixed. Because my check engine light would never go off. After I replaced 2 more of the sensors that I was told. Were bad on my card that probably were not bad. Because supposedly this company in september, put this part on.We'll come to find out.They never did, but they charge me now.They do not want to give me my money back and they do not want to give me nothing back.They keep telling me because I do not have the box so they can ship it back then.I cannot get my bunny back because it's supposed to be a part that's covered under a lifetime warranty. But I don't have a box so they can't ship it back whoa, first of all, you didn't change it out. And then you didn't even give me a box to even ship it back so how can I, how can we do that? ISSUE: Truck will not start when cold.   First Visit : According to salesperson, the manifold, plugs, and boot ignition wire needed replacing  for $833.00.  I accepted their diagnosis to proceed in repairing my truck. It took them a few days to complete the repairs. I was patient, because they found the problem and I was anxious to get my truck back. However, the initial problem was still present. The first couple of days in started up, as it should, but these days  were warm mornings. So, I called Cambridge advising them  they did not fix the problem, they were paid to do. 2nd visit The salesperson advised me to tow it in again. When the  wrecker operator arrived he managed to get the truck started by changing a fuse. I then drove the truck to Cambridge and left it there, with hopes this time the problem would be resolved. Again, they kept it for a couple of more days.  They replace some fuses, since the wrecker operator was able to start the truck when he came to pick it up. Keep in mind, this was much later in the day when he attempted to start the truck by replacing a single fuse. Apparently, the repairmen are not trying to start the truck early in the a.m., when the truck is cold. A few days later. Again, of course, the truck wouldn't start up like it should. 3rd visit I called again and the salesperson said I needed some sort of fuse kit and a battery, because the fuses were getting too hot. I was doubtful and concluded they didn't know what was wrong with my truck since it doesn't start when it's cold and again they were incorrect and did not do the suggested repairs. 4th visit They were quick to say it would cost another $900 to repair the problem a totally new scenerio of repairs. I had already charged $833.00 for the same problem that they couldn't find in the first place. Why on earth would I believe them. I was given so many different diagnosis from the manifold, plugs, to fuses,battery fuse kit to resetting / re-learn etc. and a new scenario of issues and now I needed brakes, change  brake fluid and other things. How about we just fix the issue I took it in for! I decided to pick up my vehicle as is and take to a reputable shop. When I picked up the vehicle I noticed there was a puddle underneath and ran terribly and the engine light turned on before I arrived home. The vehicle is absolutely in worse condition. When I arrived home I tried to start the car again and it would not start. The only issue I had with my vehicle was it would not start in the mornings. Now vehicle won't start even with a jump and blowing white smoke.  All along they were trying to upsell me. Also I should mention, I was told the manifold had a hole in it, I asked to save the part so I can see the hole, but ironically the manifold was misplaced. If I may make a suggestion, be familiar and aware of your vehicle's condition, do your homework, know what it needs and what it doesn't need. A salesperson is trained to sell. Be prepared for the big sales pitch; "your vehicle would run much better" if you did this or that, or you need something your vehicle would be fine without.   ***Customers please beware. WE PAY FOR THEIR BLUNDERS*** Communication maybe an issue too. The invoice was noted incorrectly ' I stated the issue with my vehicle is "it won't start in the mornings ". I tried to explain to them when I thought the problem began and it was after I had added gas and a heavy load in the vehicle and perhaps confused on the issue it self. I was offered a "free oil change " but I doubted they would give me full synthetic oil or trust they would do it so no thank-you! $833.00 dollars later the vehicle is much worse condition from first time taken in. How do you get from a car that won't start in the morning otherwise running well to now a car that blowing white Smoke, remove the key from the ignition and still trying to start. My vehicle was well maintained and had one issue. I'm having it towed to a reputable dealer ship and a better business bureau certified company. read more

Came in for diagnosis of error code. Was told it would be about an hour. Was asked if I would wait. I said yes and waited an hour. My truck had not moved. "Sorry sir I forgot to tell the technician you were waiting" was the answer to my question as to why my truck hadn't moved. I think I'm owed a free diagnostic! What about it guys? So that was Monday. Today Wednesday I get a voicemail from them. "Hello sir we've had your car here for a couple days would you like us to scan it?" I called back and said sure give it a scan. I had high hopes for this shop. We broke down in our TR7 and they advertise they fix them. What we got was a $5000 nothing. They had it for over a month. When we went to pick it up it broke down 5 miles away. Once that was fixed we were on the road again and boom the entire carb fell off. Literally the bolts were gone. We could an autozone and put bolts on and tried to move forward. A few files from there the entire carb mount cracked in half. These were already new. Too much leaning on them. These guys seem ok for newer stuff but not these old girls. They need more care. read more

Let me correct my past review- they tried to charge me $70 for a couple of screws and a new light bulb. If that is not ripping someone off then I don't know what is. They tried to rip me off. I went in there for an inspection and they failed me cause my back license plate mount was "broken" and told me they could fix it for $70. I told them no thanks and went down the street to another inspection place. They just told me the light bulb needs to be changed and it only cost me $10. Bunch of crooks. I used BG product since my second oil change. Cambridge sold me on the warranty BG provided when using their product. I used it every oil change and had mechanical damage to my motor. When I asked Cambridge for copies of my oil changes they had my receipts all messed up. BG refuses my warranty. I called Terry (owner of Cambridge) 5 times and was told he's busy and would call me back. 2 1/2 weeks later he still hasn't responded. I'm disappointed they won't help me with BG and stand behind what they told me. I'm disappointed their receipts and mileage were so screwed up. RUN, it's not the shop it use to be. read more

Went there a few weeks ago based on the hype I heard on Mike Taylor on Ticket AM 760 radio. Seemed like the reviews were good. Got an alignment there a month ago after doing a lot of service with my local Beldon's garage and got annoyed with them after a string of disappointments. The alignment was fine. So, when my car had an incident with left front tire/wheel/suspension damage I had it towed there on a Sunday night. Stopped by first thing Monday am to confirm it was there. I am pretty sure it didn't get on a rack to get looked at until the next am or later. 10 days later I was at basically the same point I was when I had it dropped off. Seems like multiple miscommunications and/or dropped balls between insurance and them. Seemed like I was always the one calling to move things along and also seemed like dealing with insurance was something foreign to them though I am sure it should'nt be and they said they are used to working with insurance. To be fair, the insurance company has gone to all virtual processes which make the process even more of a pain and they were hard to get ahold of also. They are not in my insurance company's affiliated shops and so they have to work through the adjuster as opposed to the affiliated shops that can do their own adjusting, etc. so that part is on me. Word to the wise if you choose your own company, if there are problems with your repair shop, etc. you are going to have to work that much harder to get things done. I doubt I'll be back. read more

We took our car to Cambridge Auto Center when it broke down in our apartment's parking lot, mostly because Cambridge is close to where we live. Our car was making a horrific noise that sounded like grinding metal. Cambridge did a comprehensive scan of the car and came up with a list of things that needed to be repaired that totaled about $2,000. When we asked what was truly necessary to be done to stop the grinding noise, the staff said that there was about $1,000 worth of repairs that had to be made. The staff at Cambridge was friendly and helpful and seemed to be pretty straightforward. However, we are always ones to get a second opinion. We had a friend look at our car and he said that really we only needed to replace the timing belt and the water pump. He said he could do the job for $400. Sweet! Even though the guys at Cambridge were nice, you ultimately chose a car repair shop for price. We were fortunate to have a friend be able to fix the car for less. The people at Cambridge were fine, but, ultimately, price is what most matters. read more

I took my 2017 vw jetta in because my engine light was on back in November. we also noticed we were going through a lot of oil and didn't appear to be leaking. so they replaced a few parts and stated the tdi system needed to be cleaned, and this should stop us from going through oil as much $1,200. it did slow it down, and we researched and found out that tdi engines burn oil a little faster, so we figured it was ok. Now the light is on again, and we take her back up there just to find out that the oil has been leaking internally and has pretty much messed up the entire engine $5000 worth of repairs. This was their mistake, and to make matters worse, the mechanic we talked to the first time doesn't even work there anymore (I wonder why). Just stay away find any other mechanic . They are rip offs , sell you things that you don't need, don't fix things you do need and then charge you for their mistakes. read more

We had a Rangerolver service and mention that is humming noise under the hood. They had replaced the battery and told us everything is fine. The car fail again driving back and we have towed to another mechanic and they told us the alternator is not working and there is where the humming noise from. We had call Eddie back why do we have to pay the diagnostic fee of 95$ and nothing is being check? All we have after that is run around and never got a call back from these guy. read more

I have previously had a bad experience Belden's so I thought try out Cambridge. So I left my vehicle on 20th Sep 21, on Monday and after three days, I called Cambridge and found out that the technician really did not have chance to find the problem with the AC fan motor. Cambridge finally called me back and said it the AC fan that blow's cold air needs to be replaced Cambridge said, "Since the AC fan repair is less than two years, probably Belden will do the repairs at NO cost because under a warrantee." So I went back to Belden and they said will check out the problem. Belden called me back in a couple of hours later and said that the problem is not a fan motor, but the connector plug is defective. Belden said "we will replace with new AC Delco fan and can pick up the vehicle up tomorrow and there be NO charge". If you are looking to be a possible customer of Cambridge Auto Center, you can be the JUDGE - I had to pay Cambridge $94,78 for a wrong diagnosis. Another customer reference. Was * Communication, Communication, Communication*, which seamed did not exist with Cambridge? I had talk with Belden about my original problem's with them, The problem was somewhat straighten out. But at least I received a fair deal and they handled AC fan motor replacement. I am writing this review, because I tried to get in touch with Cambridge about their wrong diagnosis, but they never returned my phone calls. I guess the three Rs:, reliability, responsiveness, and the right prices don't count, if the repair doesn't fit into Cambridge's scope of their investigation. They are very good at communicating with their clients and ensuring that you understand everything- what you're paying for, what the issue is with your vehicle, what the turnover time will be and why, what parts need replacing and where you can purchase them, etc. I left my truck here for a diagnostic which they said would cost $100, but they found the problem sooner than they thought they would so they only charged me $50! I really feel like money here is well-spent. They are not trying to tack on unnecessary charges or sell you things you don't need. They are customer-service-minded rather than profit-minded. Horrible service and repair. The careless technicians did work on my vehicle (they didn't even end up fixing it) and after a couple days my whole entire wheel came off. This resulted in a big crash and lots of towing fees and damages to the car. It was a scary experience to say the least. Overall never going there again and would not recommend unless you want your wheels falling off. Couldve been way more serious if it was on the highway. read more

Spent $1400 on tune-up and repairs -- seems fair and car runs great. Tech stated the belts separated on all 4 tires and recommended replacing. Took to dealer that installed and spoke to manufacturer. My husbands experience: They offered to give me a discount in exchange for a 5 star review, because they tried to upsell me on expensive stuff, so when I told them that I'm coming to get my car back, and take it somewhere else, the total changed by over 300 dollars! I gave the review to them before they even worked on my car. Updating now because the "work" was finished. I came in for some brake noise. Originally was told it would be 800 dollars to replace rear brakes on my 2009 Honda accord. They do not machine rotors here. They only sell new ones. Anyways, got my car back brake noise was STILL THERE! Same noise i brought it in with! They misdiagnosed my car. So I took it back in. Waited another couple days for a response. Was told the mechanic that originally worked on my car was out sick. NEW mechanic calls me and says it'll be 920 dollars, looks like your front brakes are bad. I told the service writer that it's not my fault you misdiagnosed my car. You made me pay 500 bucks for brakes that weren't making any noise. The service writer stated that most likely what happened was that when people come in to get their brakes done they AUTOMATICALLY ASSUME ITS THE REAR BRAKES! I am a maintenance mechanic, I know the game and I know that these guys will just throw parts at your car and nickel and dime you every step of the way. They're clearly not checking these cars and taking the extra time like they would on their own vehicles. I have one of the cheapest cars around to work on. And it's absolutely ridiculous how these guys do business. Stay very far away. I really hope the owner sees this and makes it right. 1700 is the original quote for brakes all around on a 2009 Honda accord? No thanks. I went to Cambridge Auto on October 1. I scheduled an appointment and arrived 10 minutes early. They determined that our rear assembly unit needed to be replaced as it was bent. I asked to see it and was taken around to the shop area where the vehicle had been taken off the lift. The gentleman did not put it back on the lift to show me. I was told that I would get an email regarding the cost of the repair that evening. Today, nine days later, I finally received an email with a written estimate. I had contacted them via their website and by phone. I was very disappointed to pay for an evaluation at the time of service to have to literally beg them for an estimate.
