Enterprise has been my preferred agency for years, the availability of my preferred vehicles, the quality of the vehicles and the very competitive pricing are definite winners in my book. My most recent experience is with the I-10 location, and offers some of the best of the agency, but also a bit of a disappointment. First and foremost, the staff. James Briscoe was the agent that handled my most recent rental, and friends, I cannot tell of a more affable, friendly fellow that combines good cheer with journeyman knowledge of the rental business. I watched as he interacted with other customers in queue ahead of me, and the rule is excellent customer service with a smile. If I were king of the rental business, I would hire this gentleman in a New York minute...he is just that exceptional. But now for a bit of the disappointment with the I-10 location. I have had occasion to visit previously, and problematic is the very limited hours on weekends. The issues around car rental can be unpredictable, and closing office at noon on Saturday and Sunday is, frankly, a problem. Speaking with other customers in line, they also agreed. The other issue is staffing. On my visit recently and previously, only two agents were manning the counter. The creation of an account takes time, the physical review of an auto with the client before delivery takes time. But here is an interesting footnote. When I take delivery of a vehicle at the airport, a personal review of the auto with an agent is not required, rather depending on the renter to check and report any issues. And if there are none, you would be good to go. Perhaps the issue of auto review should be reconsidered, given the limited manpower at the I-10 location. I still consider Enterprise my preferred rental agency, and will continue as a patron. The strength of manager Briscoe at I-10 is noted, but the very limited hours at the location, the limited staffing was an issue for me. read more

This is the second time USAA has sent us to this Enterprise Rent-A-Car following a traffic accident in which the driver has rental car coverage on the policy. First the agent tells you they don't have any cars in your category and try to give you a car you have to pay money out of pocket. Even though the reservation assistant sent you at the specific time and date to pick one up. They do not have enough personal working only two to cover all the business. read more

I had one of the worst experiences I've ever come across while dealing with this enterprise location yesterday. My insurance finally approved for me to get a rental car after my actual car had been in the body shop for a week. They started off by calling me at 8 o'clock that morning after my insurance set up the rental by saying that they wouldn't be able to get me into a rental car until after 4 PM that same day. I though, inconvenient but it's fine. A little before 4 I walked into the office and one of the employees started to help me. I handed him my drivers license and my card that I was going to pay with and he immediately said to me we can't do this. I asked why and he said because you have an out-of-state license. (don't people with out-of-state license's rent cars in different states all the time?) I asked why and all they could tell me was "they are having us crack down on this." There was no clarification. They even called their district manager and they said no they can't do the transaction. But they did offer to take me to the DMV so I could get an in-state license really quick (are you FUCKING kidding me). I started to get more upset because just under a year ago I had to have a rental car for the same situation in El Paso Texas where I had no issues renting a rental car at all. And all they could say to that was "they're really cracking down on this". There was no resolve no anything. I wouldn't recommend dealing with the staff at this location at all. read more

Made a reservation months in advanced and when it was the day of my reservation I was supposed to be picked up from car dealership by the company but no one showed up. Tried calling the company for hours prior to pick up and no one answered. Been on hold for hours. So our car dealership ended up driving us to enterprise to get our vehicle. 2 hours later. When we got there they just said sorry about the situation and they where short staffed. When we got our vehicle there was no floor mats in the car. When we got home with the vehicle the following day the car key fob battery died so we tried calling the enterprise and off course 2 hours of calling no one answered. When someone answered they transferred us to roadside assistance. They wanted to charge us 55$ for them to come out and put a new battery in key fob. Like what are they thinking I have to pay a extra 55$ for a key fob when we already paying for the rental. Plus we are loosing out on a day of driving the car. That's ridiculous.. this is the worse rental car dealership I've ever had to deal with. I will absolutely not recommend this place to anyone. Do yourself a favor go to a different place to save yourself stress, hassle , and headache this company is a absolute joke read more

They didn't initially have the vehicle I wanted, however, was able to get me something comparable and for a cheaper price I had to extend my rental for two days and they were very accommodating drop off and pick up are very fast and easy. I had my car dropped off to be fixed and enterprise told me they would pick me up at a carts in time. Over a hour went by and they did not answer any of many phone calls. I got my own ride over there and all they had to say was a half assed sorry. Then they gave me a price of s*** jeep that broke down on me. I got it towed they gave me a new car I got my car back. Now months later they are trying to blame me for the jeep they gave me that was already broken. NEVER come to this location. We are going through a GEICO claim and were instructed to use this location. First off, I called two days in advance to ensure someone pick my wife up for her rental car. I was assured she would be picked up. My wife say there 30 minutes and not picked up. I called in and they said I never called. I had to leave work to pick her up. I go and drop her off and we had reserved a full size car at 33 a day. They didn't have it and told her she was getting a "complimentary upgrade." They put her in a compact SUV. We noticed this was $27 a day and we call enterprise and were told it was actually a downgrade. Anytime you call this place it's over a 15 minute wait to talk to someone. They literally lie to your face. This is unacceptable. read more

They don't call you back, provide updates, or really do much of anything except take your name and number then ignore you. Highly dissatisfied and would never recommend this location. I have always had great experience with Enterprise locations across the U.S., however, this has been one of the worst locations to work with and I'll be taking my business from Enterprise as a whole to another rental company in the future. read more

When someone hits your car and causes a huge disruption in your life, it's a headache (to say the least). These guys made getting a rental, in a stressful time, very easy. They went above and beyond to help me pick up the rental by picking me up as my car was towed to the shop and my only alternative was walking a mile in 35 degrees. They also picked up the car when an injury prevented me from driving it back. If they have the staff, and the ability, this place really strives to do their best in their service. read more

I needed a one-way/one-day rental to Houston. I looked up rates online, and they were competitive with the other rental car companies, and this location was close by. So I made a reservation online, and had a friend drive me to the location and drop me off. When I arrived, I checked in and told them that I had a reservation. When it came time to sign, they added a $75 drop-off fee. I asked what that was, and the agent said that since I was going to drop off the vehicle outside of the area, they were charging this fee. Nowhere on the online reservation was this fee mentioned. I had recently rented a vehicle 2 weeks before at another company for the exact same one-way trip, and they didn't charge this. I asked if this was just an Enterprise policy, or a local thing, and why had the online reservation confirmation not mentioned it. He just shrugged and said that everybody charges this whenever you don't return the car to the same location. I disagreed, called my friend to come back for me, and went to the other car rental place as before and had a perfectly lovely experience, no $75 drop-off fee included. read more

So my parents came to spend the holidays with us and, true to my word, I rented a car from Enterprise again. my car only seats 4, so it was a necessary expense, since I am pretty sure my parents didn't want to spend 11 days locked up in my apartment. I managed to get a great deal online for a weekly rental, and to my surprise, the rate actually went down when I went to pick the car up! We were happy with the car we ended up with (although I will look at a full sized car next time I need something that seats 5). All in all, it was a no stress rental! read more

We were sent to Enterprise by our car insurance due to our car being totaled. They attempted to tell us they couldn't rent to is because the card we wanted to use for our deposit (which had a chip) their system couldn't read. They were just going to let us walk away rather than try the card first. They did end up running the car. The car they gave us hadn't been washed or hadn't been washed well. Lastly, the radio obviously had a short in it. It would turn on and off at random times on it's own. It would get stuck on a 5 second snippet of a song and repeat it at full volume. When it did this, you couldn't turn off the radio or turn down the volume. The only way to get it to turn off was to turn off the car, take out the key, and open/close the driver and passenger doors. We filmed a video of it just to show them. After all this, they didn't offer to change the car and frankly could have cared less. Do not rent from this company nor this location. It would be great if they would answer and respond to my email but they said it's not the email "registered". I have emailed from every one of our emails and they are ALL supposedly not the email "registered". What a joke!!! read more

Hello, I'd like to start out by saying that I've rented vehicles at the Colonnade location @9999 IH 10 West San Antonio for at least a decade with my employer the State of Texas. Yesterday I had reservations for a personal use vehicle reservation I had reserved last week. I told the employee booking this was not a work trip and was personal on more than one occasion. I even had her put my personal email in the system so that it would be sent reservation. I am also a plus member. Fast forwarding to yesterday, I called earlier in the day to verify my reservation and the employee at the actual office location told me I had to redo reservations because the current ones were made under employer corporate account for me. I was frustrated because i told him i told the lady who booked for me more than once this was a personal trip. Nevertheless, i made new reservations and went to pick up the vehicle late yesterday around 515pm. The African American female employee who assisted me initially was polite but was very busy and trying to do the best she could. She reviewed my drivers license and debit bank card and I had to take a seat and wait for a bit because they didn't have my vehicle requested for me. They tried to give me and another a customer a mini van which neither of us wanted for our own personal reasons. Finally, they found me a vehicle but another male Hispanic employee with glasses and who smelled horribly took me outside to check into vehicle. After doing the walk through of the vehicle, he took my ID and debit card and denied me the rental because my drivers license had my married last name and my bank card had my maiden last name. He said they had to match. I explained that if he looked up my history with this location, I've rented here forever with my names that way. I have been a loyal customer for many years at this location and to be treated rudely after being made to wait forever and even having another employee already approve of my info in the system is very wrong and poor customer service. After I asked if there were any exceptions or something else that could be shown, he still denied me. I had scheduled to leave out of town for a Navy graduation and these plans were interrupted by this event. The male employee was not even courteous and did not look like he enjoyed his job. Grant it, with the pandemic going on it's been about a year since I've rented any vehicles. I didn't think coming back to rent my vehicle after a long pause would end up in this disaster. Last minute this morning I was able to get another rental company to give me the customer appreciation that I deserved. But because I had been such a loyal customer to Enterprise, they had no history of me renting with them but this still wasn't a problem, they just asked i provide something else to prove both cards were same person. This was resolved easy by showing my marriage certificate. read more

I received an email about $9.99 weekend deals and the timing was perfect. Would be visiting my mom and needed a car. I usually rent at the airport locations to save others the hassle of having to pick me up. This worked out perfectly - mom picked me up and we went directly to the Enterprise location I had chosen, which is close to her house. I was on time, the car was ready and it took less than 10 minutes to go in, sign papers, go out and get the car. Overall very pleased with this location. I returned at another location (San Pedro 78216) and the woman who helped me there, Bekka, was great. I wish I remembered the name of the young man who helped me at the Colony location. I've used this place to rent cars for both necessary car repairs due to accidents and for vacation. I love the service they provide. The one thing I don't care for too much is how "taxes" add up so quickly. Especially when your insurance company says they'll cover you for so much per day. The people at these places know how to upsell to you. I drive a full size sedan regularly but the insurance company pays for a compact vehicle. They tell you that the sedan fits in your budget but then you end up responsible for the daily taxes. They do tell you this up front but everything is explained so fast that you kinda don't hear it till you have time to process the conversation. A few dollars a day adds up quickly. So if you're in an accident and use any of these car rental places make sure to listen while they explain the rental agreement and don't be shy in saying no. read more

This was literally one of the worst experiences I've had with a rental car company. Mindy was rude from the very first time I called, not even a face to face interaction yet. Then when I went in person to get a rental she just so happened to be the person I was dealing with. There was very little interaction from the time that I got there to when she handed me car keys, I did not get to choose which car I wanted, she shoved keys in my face and sent me on my way. Then after I dropped the car off, I asked for an e-mailed receipt and never got it. Called three different times and spoke with three different people, even asked them to fax it to my work and they never did. I had to go there in person to get it and when I did they printed it and handed it to me without even looking at me or apologizing. Very poor customer service. SCAMMERS. If you need a rental make sure YOU take pictures of the whole vehicle and do NOT take their word for " normal wear and tear".I GUESS you have to tell them how to do their job. Enterprise is a SCAM. The vehicle i was rented had prior " normal wear and tear" According to agent however the agent did not provide any pictures even though he went over the damage with us and stated it was normal. When i turn in the vehicle turns out its not normal and there is no PRIOR documentation on this and now I am at fault for the unprofessionalism of no documentation. Now the agent doesn't recall any damage to the vehicle even though he inspected it with the measure device. I was charged for a damage report and most likely more fees to pay for ENTERPRISE damage. This is a scam. I feel scammed. And they say nothing can be done about my complaint because that damage was never noted BY THEM. NEVER AGAIN USING ENTERPRISE!!! UNTRUSTWORTHY!!! read more

I was very pleased with their customer service in this matter. He said he would take my suggestion for the representative to verbally alert the customer to the option to decline the insurance and mention it to the branch of Enterprise where we rented the car. read more
