GREAT customer service and FAST & EASY car rental! We were in town for business & pleasure but weren't happy Ubering to where we needed to go. We decided to rent a vehicle for a few days but every car rental agency I called either didn't have any vehicles or their prices were high. I was so glad when I called Hertz at 911 Main Street in Woburn. Agent Shakira was extremely accommodating including picking me up from my nearby hotel so that I didn't have to Uber. Shakira was a delight to interact with and made my rental experience seamless. On top of that, the rental price was the best in town! This place seems to be understaffed. The staff are very nice but I think because they are understaffed they are not able to do their jobs effectively. I recently picked up a car, it took about an hour. I was asked if I wanted the extra insurance but there was no mention of a plate pass for going through tolls. I did go through ONE toll and after I returned the car I got an invoice for $119.92 Just be aware of this charge if your not used to renting cars and ask questions. Reserved a cargo van for my move from Hertz. The afternoon before I was due to pick it up, I got a call from Mary, the manager at the Hertz in Woburn, telling me they'd given all their vans to Amazon, so there were none for me. I had to scramble to find another option. THEN, Hertz charged me $44 because the reservation had been cancelled, by them. Unbelievable. I had to work through my bank to get the charge reversed, as the Hertz agent told me she couldn't change it there. I suppose I should be grateful that Mary, the manager at the Woburn Hertz, took the trouble to tell me the day before there would be no cargo van for me. BTW, I've been a Hertz Gold member for more than 20 years. Good luck with your company, Hertz. I hope Amazon needs to rent lots of vans from you moving forward. read more

I have worked with Hertz in the past and have had great experiences but this location was a nightmare to work with. Over an hour to get my rental after I showed up at my reservation time with a rude employee telling me that I would just have to wait as he was busy. When he finally got around to me and cleaned my car for me to leave, he came in and tossed me the keys and told me it was up front as he walked away. I asked him if we were going to check for damage as every other time I have rented a car had been done he told me he already did and didn't have time to check the car with me to confirm the condition. The car worked out fine, I dropped it off at the body shop as I was told I could. When I called the branch to notify them I dropped it off so they could stop charges, the same employee notified me that he had to double check with the body shop because lots of customers lie about this. I called the next day to confirm that charges had stopped and he told me I had to wait on hold, for maybe an hour or more as he was busy. According to him, he only works with customers physically in front of him. I can understand that workers can be busy, but it is no excuse to call customers liars and treat them as they do. This branch is a very poor reflection on what I have experienced to be a good company. read more

Rented here once before and it was an okay experience so I tried again.... WRONG. Reserved over the phone. Confirmation text AND email both said location closed at 6pm. Had to leave work early to get there at 530pm... CLOSED. Called the 800#. Had to void reservation and make a new one for the following morning at 8am. UBER to location at 8 am. Wait in long line only to be told that they require a credit card not a debit card to rent. I do not have credit cards and have rented there before. Of course they have no idea why the reservations people wouldn't tell me this on the phone or why the website and confirmation emails all say they are open til 6pm. These people SUCK.... read more

Hertz chooses and continues to this day to file police reports against their customers for fixable mistakes. They do not correct those reports even when they know the information they filed is incorrect or found to be a mistake. Do not rent from hertz. read more

This place is terrible. They "upgraded" me to a Buick Encore that came with bald tires, needed an oil change, had no windshield wiper fluid among who knows what else. The car wouldn't pass an inspection in the shape they gave it to me. After blowing a tire on a major highway they told me that I would be responsible to pay for the damaged tire. Went back to exchange the car for something I wouldn't potentially die in and they had changed their policy's and wouldn't let me pay with a debit card and wouldn't budge. DO NOT give this place your business they suck! read more

Hi I have to say I'm beyond disappointed in my rental! I picked it up last night and the outside was filthy and the inside was even worse! It smelled so bad of weed, there was so much dirt inside and it had under half a tank. I'm in shock that your company would rent out cars in this condition. I had to clean the inside and spray something to get the smell out just so I could drive it. So disappointing!! read more

I received a car rental from this location when my car was in the auto body shop. The only bright side of working with them is they were prompt with arriving. They brought a large SUV and assured me the rate would be below my insurance rental reimbursement costs, but I could call and see if they had any smaller cars later. I called back multiple times and they still had no smaller cars, but was assured I would get the rate for a Sedan and get a call when one was available to switch. I received no call and then the rate went over my insurance's reimbursement, which resulted in a charge for the rental. When I called back to straighten it out or get an explanation, I was put on hold, spoken to rudely, and given the run around by the manager, Dominique. She seemed to have no interest in working with me to resolve the issue and was quite confrontational. All I wanted was a smaller car that would stay in my cost range and this location had no interest meeting that need and followed it up with difficult and hostile customer service. I have never had an experience like this with the rental car companies. It was quite disappointing and I will not be using Hertz again because of my experience here. read more

By far the WORST rental car company. I had a 4:45 appointment to pick up my rental at the Hertz in Woburn Ma, I arrive and they're CLOSED! I called and a woman picked up and said she'd be right back, 30 mins later. The transaction process was quick, mainly due to the fact they didn't clean my rental properly. The car drove like trash, and the rear bumper was snapped out of place and the rain guards were coming off. Great rental. Fast forward to me dropping the car off, cleaner than when I received it, just to find out they FRAUDULENTLY charged my card $400 for a "cleaning fee". I read plenty of articles that Hertz does this to gain back $$ from when they filed bankruptcy back in 2020. They alleged they could smell smoke. Mary the manager is useless. I had to call 3x in order for her to email me my unsigned contract. Dayshawn the District Manager is useless as well, stated once I give them my mag swipe for the deposit, I am authorizing them to charge my card for anything.i Refuse to refund MY money. GREAT EXPERIENCE WITH DAN AND ISSAC!!! My body shop sent me to hertz to rent a car while my car was being repaired. Dan came and picked me up, and called my insurance company to get all the paperwork in order. While speaking to my insurance they stated they do not "direct bill" with Hertz. Dan was so kind to find out who I would direct bill, ( enterprise) got my claim number, set up a reservation for me. Dan and Issac also gave me a ride to enterprise. I rented a car @ Hertz in Chelmsford, Ma in March 2020 for 5 days after an accident so everything was covered by my insurance. Come to find out in July, they charged my credit card $1140. This is after the insurance has already paid. The charge posted two months after the fact so I didnt get this bill until this past week. I called them and they said that their records show that I exended the rental! Apparently corporate did it. How now? Crazy people, be weary! The dealership warned me about Hertz but I gave them the benefit of doubt. So they will refund the money, but this is explicit theft! If you had questions, why didnt you call me? Not trustworthy!! This place is a SCAM! I was getting my car repaired and the shop and they set up a rental for me from here. My insurance company was covering the rental and I was told that they would handle everything but a $50 deposit that was standard. I was given a newer comparable rental to my car which I was pleased with. A week later I had over $700 hold on my account that no one informed me about and I definitely did not agree to. I called this store in Woburn and was told that they did not have anything to do with this. I then called corporate and was told that the store placed the hold. I called back both places multiple times as I needed that $700 for bills! I finally got it settled after about a week and was told that the hold would be removed. It wasn't. Over a week later the hold was still there and I still needed that money for bills. I had to call my bank and have the hold removed. I would not recommend anyone go here! read more

Be aware of the 'Loss Damage Waiver'. I misunderstood this and was allowed to labor under the mistaken assumption that it was a low, one-time fee. Instead, I was taken for about $21 a day while I needed the rental for a month, and received no warning before they hit my debit card for over $700, which I did not have. Don't ever get a rental from here. I got the car for three days got coverage for three days. I was only supposed to pay $41.00 they called later on telling me they were going to give the car for an extra month. They didn't say anything about any extra charges and never said anything about the coverage. I bring the car back after a month and they tell me I have to pay $337.00 I told them I wasn't going to pay because I was only aware of the $41.00. They said they would try and figure something out and call me back. Then I receive a bank statement saying they tried to charge my card twice at two different prices! Have a 19 year old son who is also a service member. He had some body work being done on his car so scheduled a rental. Since I knew most rental agencies do not rent to individuals under 21 I had him make the reservation while I was there visiting in case there were any issues and I needed to be on the agreement. After 3 calls to get an agent to help he explained his situation and was told there would be an underage surcharge but there was no issue. When he went to pick up the rental (after I had already travelled home) he was told they were unable to rent to him. I called, frustrated and asked to speak with manager as my son was now stranded at their office with no recourse available. Was told the manager would call me upon their return. Still have not received a call but son did speak with manager who offered no resolution either. Luckily their competition was much more sympathetic and supportive of our military personnel. Needless to say my future rentals will not be through Hertz despite my Gold status. read more

ABSOLUTELY A NIGHTMARE!!! I agree with a previous post...0 stars....I was charged almost 1,100 for a rental. Not only did I have my insurance to cover the rental...I had coverage through the car that hit my car (the reason it was in the shop), yet they decided to charge me. Instead of charging my insurance(my insurance was clear there was no record of an attempt to charge my insurance) they charged me....with no notifications or fair warning at all. A month after the car was returned my account was charged. I work with people every day and I know that this is a VERY DIRTY way to deal with someone. You don't rob someone...PERIOD!!!!! You have no care or respect for other people. I have a family that I single handedly support with only my income and I live paycheck to paycheck on a pretty decent salary. Because Hertz decided to charge my account they put my account in the negative and my car insurance payment was denied and all of my transactions (THAT I ACTUALLY APPROVED OF) would then bounce or be charged a bank fee. I can't believe the ignorance of HERTS as a whole. I spoke to the supervisor and he was absolutely no help. Luckily my insurance company doesn't suck and they are reimbursing me the payment I was charged by the fault of Hertz. I am still irate at their poor business....my advice to you...GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! read more
