I made an appointment online to get my Real ID license. I walked in, saw a clerk immediately, filled out the form, got my application processed, and was out the door in 20 minutes. NOT SO CUSTOMER FRIENDLY! Friday Oct. 29 walk in to Peabody, MA branch, greeted at door and sent to CS. As I handed my AAA card & registration slip for renewal the young girl says "do you have an appointment?" I said NO, I did not know I had to have one! This person then states, "well you will have to come back tomorrow" I asked why? She said because I did not have an appointment. I looked around, AND I was THE ONLY PERSON IN THIS OFFICE! I said, "so you are not going to give me my registration? She smugly says "it will show paid but, I cannot process it, you will......tomorrow. I said I understand now, you have appointments but, THERE IS NOBODY HERE! Again, this person states, we have appointments every 10 minutes and that's policy, I cannot do it! So, as you might imagine I got VERY upset and said again, "there is nobody here and you can not process this for me? Answer, "NO" I said I will just cancel my AAA membership and she said OK Thank You in a smart a$$ tone of voice! I grabbed my paperwork and walked out. I called customer service 800 number and after being on hold 20 minutes, they told me "we don't know what individual branches have for their policies, really, this is now a franchise...NO.... So AAA 800 CS NO HELP! Still in the parking lot I decide to just go on RMV website and do it online, even after taking a day off work to get this done in person. We are now about 45 minutes later, I am still outside AAA office and NOT ONE person has entered that office since I walked out! As I am in the middle of renewing my REG online I receive an incoming call, it says AAA Peabody. So, I answer call and it is the branch manager Peter Simmons. Mr. Simmons says he is very sorry, that should have never happened. I said "you heard the situation?" He stated yes, and I said "you let me walk out anyway?" He said "you were upset so I let you go!" So, Peter tells me he pulled the person off the counter and told her she did not handle the situation correctly and that's not how we do business. I again, stated that I understand that you have a policy of making appointments, which I did NOT know when I showed up. I said "you office was completely empty, and has been for the 45 minutes I have been out front on the phone! Peter tells me he wants to make it right and to come back. I entered the office at 12:06pm at this point, and a very nice young lady (Anastasia) processed my registration in exactly FOUR MINUTES, I was out of there at 12:10pm! So, the first person I dealt with who could have processed my transaction in approximately 4 minutes decided on her own SHE WOULD PUNISH ME for not having an appointment, and make me come back another day to get my paperwork! THIS IS A PISS POOR POLICY and could have been easily avoided. Mr. Simmons said it was a bad decision on her part. This person walked by me and was obviously told to apologize but, as she apologized she added, "I was following policy" So, she still thinks she did the right thing, and I have no doubt she will pull this on other members! A person that was trained correctly, and actually cared about their members could have said: "I can do this for you because we are slow and nobody is waiting but, in the future please remember to make an appointment!" That is how I would have handled it! As a side note, I went on to AAA/reservations and the next available appointment was 2 weeks out! This office was a ghost town, and AAA needs to review their reservation system! THIS IS A 1 STAR FOR THAT CS PERSON ALONE, SHE DEFINITELY SHOULD FIND A NEW CAREER! 5 STARS FOR PETER SIMMONS CORRECTING THE ISSUE, AS I HAVE BEEN A MEMBER OF AAA FOR ABOUT 35 YEARS! I pay for membership. I contact aaa about a low tire. I tell them I would prefer just putting air in the tire if it will hold air and I will take it get it repaired later. After trying to convince me that the tire was not low, I asked to just fill the tire. There is no air in the truck. Well, why did I contact you? I joined AAA five years ago because my wife's car no longer had roadside assistance. Since then I have grown to love theirs services. The RMV services are outstanding. Today they processed my RealID and I was in and out in under 20 minutes. For Registry services in Massachusetts!!! I also recently used them to but out cars lease. The rate I got was comparable to a new car loan and then took care of everything. Highly recommended. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would! My husband has been a AAA gold member for years. Yesterday at 4:00 pm EST his truck broke down. It has now been 26 hours, and endless calls and still NO tow! Imagine if he was a young girl stranded on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere! If you offer a service, and people pay good money for that service, this should not happen! Customer service has been zero help. Just keep getting put on hold and told they are working on getting someone out there. AAA just lost very loyal members. read more

I rarely go to AAA, the last time was for tourist information on Montréal. Since Massachusetts is sucking more and more with raising prices on the T, closing and consolidating RMV locations with extended wait times, there was a nice benefit to being a AAA member: renewing my drivers license. I don't agree that AAA should be contracted to do this as I feel this ends up costing more to the state. But with the advent of internet and on-line booking, I imagine AAA is expanding to add other services. Which is fine, because I just wanted to get this done and it probably would have been an all-day process at the RMV. I was done in under an hour, and I was able to get the Real ID drivers license (you will need for airline travel by 2020). read more

The greatest part is Jennie who helped me and my cousin with our auto insurance saved a lot on our renewals you can always get help on travel deals any where you want to go and over the years I have gotten help when I broke down they come right out and get your car going no matter what the weather is also you can get your license renewed and passport right there at the Peabody office or any AAA office read more

The convenience factor of AAA is amazing. I needed a new decal for my plate after MA sent me a new registration without the decal. I called the RMV and was on endless hold, even tried the scheduled call back option only to be put on hold again before finally realizing I could get the decal here. Diana was the sweetest funniest woman I have met at a customer service experience ever. I had to get an international license and she helped me , make the experience actually relaxing, and fun! That's right getting a international license was actually fun! While I was there a customer even came in just to thank their staff for her euros. Finally a place I look forward to going to. Handy to have, but if you want to renew your license, be there a half hour before it opens

I went in for directions and tickets for Hershey Park . The directions worked great so no complaints there . I had asked if there was speed passes available as I've never been to the park, and was told no. Not true! I didn't discover you could get the speed passes until the second ride that I was waiting in line for and sweating profusely. If you don't know look it up or admit you don't know . I found the two women up front rude, pretentious, and lacking any personality. Get over yourselves ladies and I'll go ahead and go to another AAA . read more

DO NOT! and I repeat.... DO NOT EVER get auto insurance from AAA. They use commerce and Commerce has got to be the WORST insurance company in the world. Our car was involved in an accident on Feb 8. It is now March 15....5 weeks later and we still have no idea if our car is totaled or not. I feel like we are being held hostage. We have no idea if we should go shopping for another car or what to do. This is totally ridiculous that is has taken this long. We have had to pay over $700.00 out of pocket....we submitted all the required paperwork weeks ago for reimbursement and we are STILL waiting on that money too. We are on a fixed income so we really NEED that money but no one at Commerce cares. I wanted to write this review for Commerce but apparently they hide under other companies. Needless to say.....if and when we hear about our vehicle, we will definitely be changing insurance companies. read more

Love that you can renew your MA driver's license at this location. Brought my completed documents (online) and had zero wait time. Staff was great, experience -- once inside the doors! -- was excellent. Outside the doors: The MA RMV website location lists the 300 Andover St. address without mentioning AAA, or a Suite/Shop number at 300. I drove around for 20 minutes, to other shopping malls, as well, and then parked under the trees at the back side of the lot to use my phone and try to find the RMV. When I couldn't get through on the phone or online, I chucked that idea and drove to the AAA office to ask if *they* knew where I could find the closest RMV office. While RMV may be reluctant to post AAA's name on their website, the AAA should post a large, clear, sign in their window using the RMV logo or initials. read more

I visited the AAA in Peabody last Friday for a license renewal. It was lunchtime and there were about ten people ahead of me. I expected to wait, but the line moved very quickly. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I want to give an extra shout out to the gentleman who was giving the eye test and completing the applications. He was so friendly and I noticed that he was so patient with the senior customers too. It was a very good experience and the location was so convenient. read more

If i didn't see the name on the front of the building I would have sworn I was in a regular RMV. After standing in line for 25min I was asked if I was in need of registry services. When I replied that I did I was told that they stop accepting registry applications 30min ago! When I asked why didn't somebody tell me that when I walked in an older woman with blonde hair who was on the phone at the time told me that is is on a sign on the door....... hidden amongst 15 other signs about Disney Word and every other destination. She then proceed to do her best David Spade SNL flight attendant customer Service with the fake smile and telling the hours of the local registries. Immediately canceled my AAA subscription. Went in lieu of DMV's in Wilmington or Newburyport. Staff was courteous, friendly, and as helpful as they could be, but the DMV provided them with only one computer for license renewal, etc. so the wait was over an hour. Two more computers and AAA staff could make this process work smoothly. read more

I read these (ea. month)..as they're packed w/ wonderful information "To-Do list, activities in my area..example is Horde with Horror Fans...Salem, MA Horror Fest at PEM, Salem. Article mentions AAA has revamped its website; or tells if/when AAA offices will close (holidays). Nice tips on where to drive to view fall foliage. It's fun to read about 'test driving' a new type of car, written by John Paul. Also good articles on "My First Car", written by a celebrity. This newspaper is packed w/ prices or info on variety of travel destinations. Middle of month Nov., 2017, I visited AAA-Peabody, MA..after lunchtime. Lady worker directed me to correct blank RMV form - I filled this out to renew my driver's license. Next, I brought signed, dtd. form to different lady-who was also friendly - had great customer service. She processed form, then rendered to me: a brief eye test (machine). Lastly, she took my picture-electronic photo -she allowed me see it (color) on her computer monitor. I signed my name and paid the fee (one can use cash, check, even my M.Card.) I was handed a temporary License - will await new license to arrive in my mailbox within a few weeks. I thought this was great experience seeing I happened to arrive there with no lines-people. Workers were quick, efficient--and displayed warm greetings to me, a customer. Note: Realize RMVehicle is bidding on new empty building - so state services can be returned to No.Shore area (over 18 to 20 mos. ago, one RMV office was closed @ Liberty Tree Mall, Danvers ). During the wait on new RMV this area, drivers can utilize AAA Peabody on some ? RMV issues...a real convenience for members. I recommend anybody to visit AAA-Peabody office. read more

I love AAA for their roadside service and discounts on various items. However, I recently went to the Peabody, MA office for help with a trip that I'm planning to attend a wedding in Germany. While in Europe, I wanted to travel to one or two other countries. In a nutshell, the agent was useless - gave me a couple of brochures and suggested that I research on the web. Seriously? She discouraged traveling via car, but then had no info on trains and planes. She kept pushing this online travel agency, which is clearly affiliated with AAA. First thing I said when I sat down was that my friend with whom I'm traveling does not want to go to France and then during this wasted 30 min. of my life, she mentioned France at least four times!!! So while I won't be relinquishing my AAA membership, I will be seeking travel advice from another source. read more
