Fantastic service and delish cupcakes!! Ordered for a friend and she loved every bite. She raved about the 4th of July Apple Pie selection.

So I was pretty shocked to almost immediately hear from the owner after leaving a 3 star A-Ok review after getting a less than stellar cupcake from Hey Sugar at The Cheese Course. He was very professional and explained that sometimes in the wholesale process they can be sold after the optimal times. He assured me that his cupcakes would be some of the best I've ever had, and he certainly wasn't wrong. The following day after my Cheese Course experience I received a delivered dozen of the standard size cupcakes in assorted flavors. Mark was not lying- they were all awesome! My favorite was the key lime with the extra special graham cracker touch, and my husband is dying to have more carrot cake! I've uploaded a picture of the cupcakes in all their uneaten glory. The last company I used (who had fine reviews) brought so-so cupcakes that were a little dry AND I had to ask my friend's husband to swing by after work to grab them because delivery was more than the cupcakes! No. No. No. Mark was very friendly and patient with me after I explained I would need them delivered sooner rather than later. He suggested the assortment but was also patient while I explained she's a chocolate/vanilla girl and could not abide coconut or carrot. He set me up with an assortment and told me he'd get them to her the next day. He takes the recipient's phone number so he can be sure they'll be there when they deliver. It turns out she was going to be at her son's school - so he delivered them there!! So super professional... a go-getter guy for sure. THIS IS NOT A STORE FRONT just fyi. If you want to taste his cupcakes before placing an order the only option pretty much is to go to one of the cheese course restaurant locations and you will find about 4 of his flavors there. I did take a few home with me to try. The cake itself is amazing. I will say that. The icing however is just like whatever. Especially the red velvet cupcake... i was hoping for a Nice cream cheese flavor but it was just a sugary otherwise bland frosting. The cupcakes are also a little bit on the pricey side. At the end of the day it's all about flavor and overall it did not make me place an order. Hopefully he does well enough to open a store front one day! Inconvenient set up. read more

I pretty much go on cupcake scavenger hunts in every new town I visit. Hey Sugar Cupcakes are delicious especially the Red Velvet and Carrot Cake Cupcakes. They are moist and the frosting is creamy. They don't however taste like cupcakes you make from home where you can taste the butter in the cake and frosting. The owner told me that if I ate it standing up that the calories might not be absorbed...not sure if I believe him but I figured that I'd give it a try. I received 4 cupcakes for my office. 1 carrot, 1 red velvet and 2 vanilla cupcakes. I tried the vanilla one which was dense & delicious which an incredible frosting. It was gently sprinkled with large sugar crystals. One of my sales reps has the Red Velvet cupcake and he said that he's never tasted a milky frosting quite like this one had. Generally you need a few days to get an order in but they were able to squeeze me in because they had so many high-volume orders, they had more cupcakes than usual. He spoke confidently about the flavor and moistness of his cupcakes and I naturally wrote him off as biased towards his own product. My sincerest apologies. The chocolate cupcake is indeed the best chocolate cupcake I've had, bar none. It was as moist and flavorful as advertised, topped with a well-balanced fudge frosting with mini chocolate chips. The large cupcake seemed pricey at first blush, but easily satisfied two. I have returned several times for the same delicious chocolate cupcakes, and have found their quality consistent. Called inquiring about same day delivery and not only were they able to deliver on the same day but they delivered within 2 hours of my phone call (this is including a 30 minute drive). I had requested a home delivery even though the recipient wouldn't be at home but I was okay with the cupcakes being left on the front door. To ensure the quality of the cupcakes was intact and they wouldn't melt, he suggested either delivering after work hours (when someone would actually be at home) or delivering to the recipients workplace which was a great idea! Being new to the area, I really didn't know any good baker/bakery that I could trust with my wedding cake. After talking to a couple bakers on Yelp, I decided to entrust Mark with this very important mission. Boy, am I glad that I make this decision! Mark was very patient and specific in explaining the process and details. While I already had a rough idea in mind, he made some suggestions based on his experience to make it even better. He also offered to deliver the cake at a later time so it's fresh and ready just before the guests arrive. In the end, we had a 6 inch tall chocolate cake with white to pink ombre buttercream and fresh flowers on top. It's just gorgeous, the photo really doesn't do it justice... The chocolate cake is moist and with the right amount of cream, some of my guests said it was the best chocolate cake that they've ever had.
