This was my first time at HeyDay and I was excited after seeing such positive reviews. I will describe my experience so you can determine if it appeals to you: The space: - the upstairs facial area is open space with dividers in between each 'room' which means you can hear everything. I learned a ton about Disney world and the Magic Kingdom from the woman next to me - the music wasn't typical spa music but rather spa-like electronica. at one point it was just a bunch of dissonant chords. - you can hear the sinks being turned on/off and what procedures your neighbors are getting - the front desk staff called me to come in early as they had a cancellation. I arrived 45 minutes early. After checking in, they had me wait in the upstairs waiting room. After 20 minutes of waiting, I went back downstairs to see what was going on. After the front desk looked around for a bit, she discovered that the skin therapist didn't get the message that they'd moved me earlier. - The treatment bed was up against a wall so I couldn't stretch my legs out fully without hitting the wall. I'm 5'7. The facial ($145+tip): - To start, my skin therapist put a towel around my neck and a headband on to keep my hair and clothes dry/clean. I'm used to facials at this price, giving neck/shoulder massages. Not at HeyDay. - The skin therapist applied and removed different ointments. After each product she took her gloves off and put on new ones so went through 6+ gloves in a 50 minute period. - No facial steamer. - She left a lukewarm towel on my face for 2+ minutes so my pores would be more open to extraction. - She used a tool to extract from my nose. No extractions from any other area. - She applied a sheet mask. Scalp Treatment Add-on ($80+tip): - The skin therapist applied oil to the top part of my scalp and then rubbed my head in the same place- not moving her fingers around. - My head wasn't turned to either side and she didn't lift my head up to get underneath. So it was just the top part of my scalp. - She used a head comb on the parts where she'd applied oil. - I asked if she could vary her movements as it's not comfortable to have one area massaged for minutes at a time. - This add-on is done while the sheet mask is on so despite the price tag, it doesn't add time to your service. The therapist was nice. I felt bad for being so disappointed in the service because she wasn't rude. She offered me a free LED service which was maybe 5-10 minutes of a LED mask on my face over the sheet mask. This would normally be a $50 add-on service. The front desk staff gave me $40 off when I shared about my experience. Without the discount, my whole service would have been $225+tip. Is this normal for UES? read more

I got a gift card for this place last year or even two years ago as a Birthday gift. I felt like why not go at the start of the new Year to check it out and get a facial. The place is very clean and the front desk staff were nice and helpful. My facial person was super friendly and would tell me what she is doing. The only reason I did not give this place 5 stars is due to the level in which the music was playing through out the place it was a bit loud. Also, this place has rooms with curtains but the ceiling is like an open concept so you can hear what is going on in other rooms which is a bit distracting in my opinion. A friend of mine recommended I try them when I felt that I needed to pay attention to my skin more but felt overwhelmed with the amount of products, doctors and ridiculous prices out there. Everyone is so kind when you enter this place and very knowledgeable. I use Emma and she is BEYOND fantastic. I actually feel and see how clean my skin is when I leave her and she recommends products for me to use that won't break my bank and are easy to incorporate into my daily life. They also have various locations so when I'm traveling, it's nice to know I have options and can stay on top of my monthly facials. I had a great facial at Heyday last week. I took advantage of a deal I saw on Instagram ($31 off first facial) and I wasn't disappointed. I never had a facial before so I was a little apprehensive but Isiah was wonderful and explained everything he was doing and what was being used on my skin. Heyday is clean, the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and they didn't try to aggressively sell me any products afterwards, which was appreciated. The one thing I didn't like is the open floor plan of the treatment "rooms", people are separated by curtains instead of individual rooms. The woman across the aisle from me talked non-stop during her facial (which for the record I don't think there is anything wrong with) but I felt like I was a part of her conversation, so it wasn't a relaxing experience for me. Not sure how honest this business is. I've been seeing Heyday pop up on my social media and been wanting to start getting facials again regularly so had my eye on it. Around the same time I started taking interest in Heyday,I had received free facial discount codes via email and was able to book a facial online for me and my sis without any issues online. We trekked out to the location, decided to make a day out of it, checked in, received a nice facial. This review is not in related to the aestheticians. My experience with her was wonderful though not sure compared to my other facial experiences, it is worth the full price. Just a lot of products and cleansing, no special treatments. When checking out they all of a sudden say that the discount code had been sent out by mistake and we now had to pay. Not sure why this wasn't cleared up BEFORE we received the facial when we were checking in? Not sure why another email communication wasn't sent when they realized their mistake? Not sure why the discount code still went through when booking our appointments? Not sure if this was their intentional play to get customers to come in and pay for a service when they were advertised otherwise. Just so many things that could have done to prevent what happened to us. What should have been a relaxing experience ruined. They gave us 50% off, a discount they offer to first customers anyways. Regardless, despite the price, it's the principle that doesn't sit right with me. It's your mistake. Own up to it. Not sure why customers have to pay the price for their mistake and their failure to handle it properly. Lost a potential member here. Seeing this I wouldn't be surprised if you go through a facial and your bill is higher than what you were told initially. Watch out for yourself and ask questions. Ok, Nicole P. is the goddamn TRUTH. I've been getting facials for years for my acne prone skin and I love that Heyday's products are simple but effective. I'm over places who use the same products for every client. Nicole paid attention to what my skin needed and moved accordingly. Acne prone, dry patches, texture, hyperpigmentation are all concerns of mine and I looked like a million bucks when my facial was over. And not that superficial glow that literally any facial can give you, but a considerably noticeable difference. Nicole recommended to add on microdermabrasion and I'm so glad she did because my hyperpigmentation is insanely lighter and it's still day 1. Nicole also offered a load of knowledge. She recommended I drink more water (which I already know but it's not often an esthetician goes into what your diet is like). I felt like I was talking to a friend who truly wanted the best for me. I will say if you're looking for a super meditative, relaxing spa day, I don't know that this is the place for you because I could hear other people talking while getting their facials from time to time, but it definitely wasn't obnoxious. I didn't mind it, I honestly went there for skin care, not a spa day. Nonetheless, I still had a very relaxing time. I can't get over how good the products felt on my sensitive skin. I really wanted to like this place. Without steaming I don't know how they can effectively open the pores and do extractions, which is one of the biggest benefits of getting a facial. I went in thinking this could be a utility facial (they are get up front this is not a spa vibe), but unfortunately that was not the case. I was better off saving my $150 and steaming in the shower, applying my own mask and attempting extractions myself. They only did extractions on my nose and I have tons of blackheads on the sides of my face and chin. They only use hot towels which is not effective enough to open the pores. The positives. 1. I've been to this location previously and enjoyed my experiences, but I just left feeling incredibly disappointed with my facial today. The service didn't feel as personalized as I previously received, and the extractions were inadequate. My skin still looks very obviously congested in places that weren't addressed during my service. The pricing is not clear. I wasn't told during the service that the chemical peel and light therapy would be $50 extra each. The front desk told me the esthetician assumed I knew because I used to be a member. I haven't been a member for more than a year and a half and was not familiar with the current pricing structure. These add ons nearly doubled the price of the facial. I was also incorrectly charged for a "Smooth Lips" service. The front desk corrected this after I asked what it was and said that it was supposed to be free because I got two add ons. I never asked for this service, but would be curios to know why the "Smooth Lips" service costs $15 because all the esthetician did was apply lip balm. Heyday presents itself as a more stripped down version of a facial. It doesn't have the frills of a spa (you're in a curtained off room where you can hear all the other estheticians and clients), but the price used to reflect what you were getting. They've continued to increase their base price in recent years and the add on pricing is confusing. With the add ons (that are included when I go to spas and get facials), the Heyday facial is more expensive than going to a luxury place and a worse experience. read more

Had a discount code and I thought, why not treat myself?! Self-care is the best care. Right? I came in 15 mins earlier as indicated in reminder email/text to fill out an intake form. It basically asks you what type of skin concerns/allergies/etc you have and what you would like your Skin Therapist to address. The place looks super cute and inviting to me. Sucker for the gold detailing. The interior decorator in me is screaming at the design of the first floor. Waited a few mins then Yannis, my Skin therapist, came out and greeted me by my name. She told me I could take off my shoes (which I promptly did) and could cover myself with a blanket if I wanted to get cozy. Thus, my journey begins! Yannis told me what she was gonna do and asked me what my skin type and what my regimen is. After that, it was drowsy town! I went in and out of sleep when she was doing the facial. She had just enough pressure on my face and didn't irritate my skin or anything. It was just what I needed after dealing with a stressful week. I almost fell asleep too!! Once she was done, we chatted a little of what to do afterwards and she provided me some samples. I was like oh wow, this is awesome! You also get a facial recap via email which is great because I'm more of a visual person. My face feels like a baby's butt. SOFT AND SMOOTH AF! Once done with the chitchat, I came out and I paid and was asked how I'd like to leave my gratuity, credit or cash. I went by cash and they give you a small envelope and you put ur To/From who. I have been going to Glow Bar for awhile and decided to spice things up and try Heyday but I will definitely be sticking with Glow Bar - I see the same result for like half the price point. The person I saw from Heyday immediately tried to upsell me on an enhancement. Then as we were talking through my routine they tried to upsell me on my Cereve cleanser to one they had in the store and a few more times - not ideal as a part of the experience tbh. My skin did look better afterwards I don't discount that but the specialist I was too focused on selling, everyone is different so a different specialist could be an entirely different experience. For me, I'll probably stick with Glow Bar in the future. read more

Today was my second time visiting Heyday - UES for a facial and I have to let the yelp world know how amazing my experiences have been. Heyday was my third place in NYC experiencing a facial because my plan was to try different spas in the city and then commit to one that suits my skin needs. I'm happy to say that the third was a charm. Walking into this location, I just feel a relaxed, modern, yet cozy vibe. The front desk staff are very friendly and welcoming. Ramey K. was my Skin Therapist for both visits and really the reason I decided to purchase a membership. I am creeping into my late 30's and I am making a commitment to self-care, especially with my skin. Therefore, I want to make sure I get a facial once a month. The establishment was very clean and sanitary. With my first facial, I had my first ever microdermabrasion treatment (as an add-on) and since then, the texture of my skin has been very smooth and glowing. I decided to add on the LED treatment today since I had an event to attend and would not be able to go make-up free. The LED also left me with a glow, decreased inflammation, and an overall plumpness (in a good way). Your skin therapist will assess your skin in the beginning and then develop a game plan that suits your current skin care needs. The first part is of course a cleanse. Today, Ramey provided an exfoliating treatment, toner, steamed towels, extractions, high frequency, mask, and LED light for about 5 minutes. She finished off with a moisturizer with SPF. All of the products felt and smelled amazing! My face feels baby soft and looks so good. I have been completely satisfied with my treatments here and look forward to coming back every month. I'm here to let you know that's NOT the case. This place is great for monthly maintenance facials. Before you go: This isn't a luxury spa, it's a cute, clean place with nice aesthetic that makes regular self-care easy to incorporate into a busy schedule (tons of locations, lots of appointments). You may hear other clients, there's pop music playing, you won't strip down into a robe, and there is more of a community vibe than a zen one. My aesthetician, Stephanie M, was fabulous. She asked a lot of questions about my skin and skincare routine. She explained how my responses would inform her approach and product recommendations. She was so sweet and put me at ease the entire time. The products were great quality, my extractions were NOT painful, and most importantly - my skin already looks great. I got introduced to Heyday by a Facebook rep while working in Advertising and it is one of the most cost effective facials you can get that genuinely improves your skin. My Esthetician was Carmen, but I heard she's not there anymore. I got a postcard in the mail for a 50 minute facial (normally $95) for the price of a 30 minute facial ($60) for new customers so I thought I would give it a try. Making an appointment in advance requires a credit card FYI since there is a cancellation fee of $25 if you are a no-show or do not cancel 24 hours in advance. I made an appointment a few days before and arrived 15 minutes early to fill out some info and get prepared for my facial. There was a chill vibe when I walked in. I had to wait a couple of minutes until someone was free to give me the low-down as there were a couple of people ahead of me. The entrance lobby is very scenty and I was glad it was full because the scents were overwhelming. They had me fill out new customer info the waiting area further down in the space which was not overpowered with scents. They gave me a tablet to check the reason for my visit and problem areas/concerns etcetera. I gave the tablet back when finished and was off for my treatment with Sabina. Sabina was very friendly and knowledgeable, she also cracked a few jokes here in there which were funny. I like that they use warm towels instead of steam so there was no singeing of my face. The extraction is obviously not my favorite thing, I felt like my face was being scooped out. However, Sabina was quick and efficient. My skin is normal/sensitive with some dryness in my t-zone. The pores in my nose get clogged easily. After the facial my skin felt very clean and supple. She gave me some helpful recommendations at the end. The only thing I didn't agree with was how often I should be getting facials. She said every 4-5 weeks, however, I do not think my skin needs it. I am starting to get dark spots, so would like to know of products/services that can help with the hyperpigmentation aside from using sunscreen and staying out of the sun. This was not really addressed when I asked, however, it could have been because I was in a daze after the facial lol. I am currently using a Vitamin C serum from Mario Badescu, but would like to know what HeyDay recommends... Overall, I would recommend trying HeyDay for at least one facial. This is clearly Millennial Beauty at it's most mediocre. I have been getting facials for many years and see them more as a luxury than a necessity as the results and relaxation are short term. You need to take care of your skin EVERYDAY, no facial will be a substitute for everyday maintenance - no matter what your aesthetician tells you. Heyday feels more like a factory than a spa. They take a minimalist approach to facials and forget/ignore the relaxation piece. The treatment rooms are basically spa chairs separate by curtains. My aesthetician did an okay job. Was it comparable to Kiehl's, Oasis Spa, Rescue Spa or Red Door? No. Did my face feel clean? Yes. Did it glow? No. Was there a product push? Of Course! If you want a quick face cleaning/exfoliation, go to Heyday. If you want a truly relaxing spa experience, there are way better options. This is luxury for people who never experienced true luxury or simply don't care to. Very basic. read more

This was the only location in all of Manhattan that had openings on Marin Luther King day so maybe other people feel the same and like to book elsewhere. It is two floors and they seemed short on staff. When I walked in there was confusion about where to send me. They told me to go upstairs when I should have checked in downstairs first. My facial started nearly 8 minutes late as I checked the watch when I was first lead to the room. Yet, I finished 1 minute earlier than my friend who went in before me. I was also told the best thing to do was sign up for a membership because it would save me money and I could cancel the next day. Emailed them the next morning and said I wanted to cancel, was told I couldn't cancel within 30 days, which I was never told. I said this in the email and they said they would cancel after 30 days, still requiring me to pay for two months worth of facials. The whole atmosphere was so calm and fresh, I was automatically greeted with smiles and a super friendly girl at the front desk. I have come here several times and each time I love my experience. I always go to Samantha M. and she is amazing! The first time I came she was very good at explaining everything she was doing and why, all the products she was using and what was in them and what each step was doing for my skin. Obviously I need less explanation the more times I come but any time she uses anything new she explains it all in detail and why shes using it. I also love how not pushy they are with products! That's always the awkward part at the end walking out and feeling like you have to buy, but Samantha does a great job recommending products that I would like and suggesting specific things for issues I may be having but then there is no pressure to buy in the end unless I want to (which I usually do, I'm loving the enzyme mask I got last time!) You also get an email afterwards detailing your whole appointment, what was focused on, and links to all the recommended products online so if you didnt buy in store you can decide later for yourself and buy through there! Prior to Heyday I would frequently get facials done, spend significant amounts of money, and only have results last for a few days. I always had issues with blackheads and no other service could help me get rid of them besides spending solely on extractions. Heyday is not like the other salons. You are there for the exact time you pay for, no one leaves the room, and every product that is used on you is thoroughly explained. They also send you a follow up email which is awesome just in case you forget what to do until your next facial. Nicole P. is the best. I have been seeing her since October or so, and she has significantly helped me improve my skin. She is informative about all the products and knows very well about other skin related issues. Nicole P. recommended me a sweet cherry enzyme exfoliating mask which helps diminish blackheads overall and since I have began using it, I finally managed to reduce the amount all over my nose and chin. I'm extremely satisfied with the facials but also that by following Nicole P.'s advice on what products to use and what not to do, my face looks so radiating I don't need to wear makeup!
